Postage Due

What a fun collage stamp set is Postage Due!  The first time I saw it I was drawn to it so I was excited to use it for a Make 'n Take at a recent workshop.
I wanted to use some of the stitched grosgrain ribbon so I chose the Rich Razzleberry; from there I went to the Color Coach for this rich combination of Rich Razzleberry, Midnight Muse and More Mustard.
I thought that the Embossing Resist technique would be good with this stamp so I embossed the stamp with VersaMark and Clear Embossing Powder on Very Vanilla cardstock then added the three colors with sponges.  I also used some Crumb Cake ink around the edges.  This was laid on a layer of More Mustard and a swath of the Rich Razzleberry 1/4" Stitched Grosgrain ribbon adhered around the lower portion.
The three "stamps" were stamped on Very Vanilla cardstock then punched out with the Postage punch and adhered with Stampin' Dimensionals for height.

This is a colorful yet easy card to make.  I'm looking forward to making some more projects with this set!

Thanks for visiting!  Have a great weekend!

Friendship Preserves Orchard Harvest

Lol!  That made a funny title!  But seriously, I'm using the two products, Friendship Preserves stamp set and Orchard Harvest Designer Series Paper for the card today.  And there's more... more new products from the Holiday Catalog to share today also!
Love this bright fun color scheme of Island Indigo and Lucky Limeade!  It came straight from this piece of Orchard Harvest Designer Series Paper (there are 12 sheets and 12 designs in each package!)  I cut a strip about 1-3/4" wide and 5" long the clipped the bottom with my 1-3/8" Square Punch for a perfect and perfectly easy banner tail.
The Island Indigo layer was run through the Big Shot with the new Argyle Embossing Folder (which echos the diagonal lines of the plaid) then was adhered to the Lucky Limeade card base (cut at 4-1/4" x 11" and folded at 5-1/2").  Love that new embossing folder!!
The "Thanks" image was stamped on Very Vanilla cardstock with Island Indigo then cut out with the coordinating Window Frame Framelit.  This was adhered with Dimensionals to a larger Window Frame die cut of Lucky Limeade which was treated with the new Festive Punch Pack, three plastic sheets with paper piercing templates on them to match three different Framelit sets!  Wow!  What a great idea, and they are quite inexpensive at $7.95 for the set of three!  They really add detail and interest to your papercrafting projects!  This entire unit was attached to the card with Dimensionals.
Lucky Limeade Bakers Twine was wrapped twice around the card front and tied then two small Pearls were added to embellish the "Thanks" image.

This Friendship Preserves stamp set is available individually or as part of a "bundle" with the Window Frame Framelits (see page 30 of the Holiday Catalog).  By purchasing the bundle you can actually save 15% over the cost of purchasing these two items individually!!  Woohoo!  Gotta' love those stampin' bargains so we can get more on our "Wish List" for less!!

The Friendship Preserves stamp set (wood or clear) and the Window Frames Collection Framelits can be seen on page 30 of the Holiday Catalog. Remember you save 15% when you purchase the bundle!

Three Little Gingerbread Men

Here's another card using the Scentsational Season stamp set and coordinating Holiday Collection Framelits!  I've made several cards now with this duet and they are fun to use and give terrific results!!  Today's card uses the Christmas tree and Star in both the stamp set and the Holiday Framelit Collection.
Papers:  Cherry Cobbler, Chocolate Chip and Whisper White cardstocks; the two print papers are from the wonderful Festival of Prints Stack in the new Holiday Mini, page 20.
Tools:  Big Shot, Woodgrain Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, Word Window Punch, Finishing Touches Edgelits #127010 (white eyelet trim)
Accessories:  Real Red Dazzling Details,  Real Red Glimmer Brad from Glimmer Brad Brights Collection, Dimensionals, MonoMulti Liquid Glue

Greeting:  Teeny Tiny Wishes

INK:  Chocolate Chip

Tip:  When adhering dry embossed cardstock to another layer, I use the Mono Multi Liquid Glue;  it dries pretty fast and your layers will definitely not separate once it dries!!  It's inexpensive too!

Festival of Prints    126904     $6.95

Christmas in the Heart CCMC214

I'm playing with my Scentsational Season stamps and Holiday Collection Framelits again; this time I used the polka-dot Christmas tree stamp.  I really like this coordinating bundle of products, and as a bonus, these two items can be purchased together for a savings of 15% over purchasing them individually!

2012 Create Challenges-030I used the Color Challenge CCMC214 from Create with Connie and Mary for this card:  Gumball Green, Midnight Muse and Daffodil Delight, which is not-so-traditional for Christmas but I do like it for the design.  The Heart of Christmas single stamp was colored with Gumball Green and Midnight Muse Stampin' Write Markers to get the two-color look, stamped on Whisper White cardstock then diecut with a Framelit from the Apothecary Accents Collection.  I cut an additional Framelit from Daffodil Delight, cut it in half horizontally and layered it on the back of the greeting.  The Daffodil button tied with Lucky Limeade Baker's Twine is from the Brights Collection.

The trees were stamped in Gumball Green, stars in Daffodil Delight and both were then diecut with their coordinating Framelit from the Holiday Collection (#127814, Holiday Catalog).
I LOVE the new Woodgrain Embossing Folder!!  I can tell already that I'm going to use this a LOT!  I used it on the Midnight Muse cardstock background and love both the visual and tactile texture it provides.  The card base is Daffodil Delight.

Stamp-A-Stack Cards for Demo Meeting

Out most recent INK Demonstrators meeting was a Stamp-A-Stack held the first Saturday in August.  What a fun time!  Most everyone arrived early and ate at the restaurant then we had a private room for our meeting.  Each lady made two each of five card designs!  It was great to get together and catch up with each other since it had been three months since we have met!

There are four of us who designed cards for this meeting; here are the delightfully fun cards we did:
Jann McCollom, INKDemos Team Leader:  Baby Boutique set
Leslie Bumgarner:  Quintessential Flower
Connie Stewart:  Merry Minis set and Punch Pack
Jann McCollom:  Everything Eleanor
Margaret Raburn:  Language of Friendship

Actually I have already posted my Language of Friendship card HERE in case it looks familiar, lol!  but I wanted to share these other great cards from our Stamp-A-Stack with you!

Some pics from the recent meeting:

Scentsational Season Mug CCMC213

SO many wonderful new items in the Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalog!  Every time I look I see something else I "need", lol!  But one of the first "had-to-have" new products for me was the Scentsational Season stamp set with wonderful Christmas icons such as a gingerbread man, steaming coffee or tea mug, Christmas tree and a candy cane!  Of course, I also "had" to have the coordinating Holiday Collection Framelits (#127814) which makes cutting all the images out an absolute snap!!
The mug is stamped with the new In Color Gumball Green!  Love it for Christmas and beyond!  The steam is also from the same set, stamped lightly in Basic Grey and then embellished with Dazzling Details for sparkle;  it was also diecut with the matching Framelit.
The mug was adhered with Dimensionals to a Very Vanilla Label Framelit which was pierced with the template from the new Festive Paper Piercing Pack (#127857, also from the Holiday catalog!)   To the underneath left of the mug is a strip of Gumball Green cardstock which has been embossed with one of the Delicate Designs border Embossing Folder.
I used three patterns from the Festival of Prints Designer Series Paper Pack.  I was so happy when I saw this in the Holiday Catalog because it offers 48 sheets, four each of twelve double-sided designs!  The size of the pad is 4-1/2" x 6-1/2", just a great size for cards or used for mounting photos on scrapbook pages.  And many of the prints can be used not only for Christmas but year-round!  At only $6.95, it's a great deal!  The cardfront is Cherry Cobbler cardstock.

Blooming with Kindness Sympathy

There comes a time when we need a sympathy card;  I did and was inspired by one I saw on Pinterest made by Vickie Burdick.  However, as we stampers tend to do, I changed it up somewhat...  : )   I really like the neutral tones for this card and the beautiful flower from the Blooming with Kindness set.
I diecut the largest Framelit from the Apothecary Accents Framelits, then used the negative space to sponge Crumb Cake ink on the Very Vanilla cardstock.  I then stamped the blossom from the set with Early Espresso ink and used the Punch Pack Essentials to punch around the inside of the shaded area.

The bottom of this Vanilla layer was cut with the large scallop Edgelit then dry embossed with the Decorative Details Embossing Folder.  The sentiment is from the Loving Thoughts set.

This top vanilla layer was adhered to an Early Espresso cardstock layer and then a swath of Crumb Cake 3/8" Taffeta Ribbon was wrapped around and accented with a separate bow.   Three small Pearls in the upper right corner balance the design.  This was all then adhered to a Crumb Cake card.

I love these Edgelits and coordinating Embossing Folders... they can add so much so easily to a card!

Thanks for visiting today!  Hope you come back soon!

Birthday Reason to Smile

Oops, I found that I didn't get this card posted during July when this Reason to Smile stamp set was available for purchase!  However, since so many people have it now, I thought I would post the card anyway, and the idea could easily be used with a different stamp.

The card is 4-3/8" square Whisper White cardstock diecut with the Big Shot and the Scallop Square Bigz Die.  Before cutting, I folded the white and placed the fold just below the top scallops of the die to keep from cutting it.
Next is a layer of Tangerine Tango cardstock overlaid with a square of Daffodil Delight Polka Dot Parade Designer Series Paper, one of my very favorites from this catalog (of course, I like them ALL but this was the very first on my list of must-haves!!)
I diecut the medium doily on the Delicate Doilies Sizzle from Tempting Turquoise cardstock.  Next is the stamped image  (Two Step Stamping:  background flower in Daffodil Delight then the lines stamp in Tangerine Tango.)  I used Whisper White Baker's Twine tied through a Daffodil Delight button from the Bold Brights Collection.  Lastly is the sentiment stamped with "happy birthday" from the Itty Bitty Banners set and diecut with the coordinating Bitty Banners Framelit.  Having all these wonderful Big Shot and die tools make projects so much faster and yet have so much detail, and so easy!!

Note:  Even though this is a square card, it WILL fit into the standard A2 envelope for mailing or giving

You can purchase these and/or any other Stampin' Up! products from my secure online Stampin' Up! store HERE using Mastercard, Discover or Visa, and they will be shipped directly to your door from Stampin' Up!

Have a lovely weekend, and I hope you have a chance to stamp!  (It's good therapy, you know!!)

Language of Friendship, Stepped Up Version

Today's card is a stepped-up version of the card I posted Tuesday.  Both cards use the same stamp set, Language of Friendship, and both use the same coordinating Bird Builder and BoHo Blossoms Punches.  However, I stepped-up this card somewhat for our demonstrator meeting Stamp-a-Stack last Saturday.

I changed out the Fancy Fan Embossing Folder used in the previous background for my newly-arrived Woodgrain Embossing Folder which I thought would be perfect for the bird!  For the focal image background, instead of the Floral Frames Framelit diecut I used the new Window Frame Framelits (Holiday Catalog) to diecut the Whisper White cardstock.
Using my clear-mount Daydream Medallions stamp and acrylic block, I then stamped a circle of flowers on the diecut in Daffodil Delight.  The bird and flowers were done the same way as the previous card, the only difference being that we used the medium Pearls from the Basic Pearls package for the flower centers.
With just a few simple changes and using a different embossing folder and framelit, you can step up a design easily.  I really like the deep texture of the Woodgrain Embossing Folder and the classic shape of the new Window Frame Framelits!!  So glad Stampin' Up! came out with these!

You can purchase these and/or any other Stampin' Up! products from my secure online Stampin' Up! store HERE using Mastercard, Discover or Visa, and they will be shipped directly to your door from Stampin' Up!

Thanks for visiting today!  I'll have more for tomorrow!

Language of Friendship Make 'n Take Card

What a sweet little set is The Language of Friendship!  It is a set of four and has two great coordinating punches to go with it!  I love it when I have punches that match my stamps... what a time-saver and also they do a better job cutting than I do!  lol!
This card was a Make 'n Take card at one of my recent workshops; I have had the Bird Builder Punch for awhile so it was time to make good use of it, and we did!  The card base is Daffodil Delight with a layer of Sahara Sand which has been run through the Big Shot with the new Fancy Fan Embossing Folder.  A width of Marina Mist Scallop Dot Ribbon (love this!) wraps around and under the focal image.
For the main image, I diecut Whisper White using one of the new Floral Frames Framelits then stamped the words with Pacific Point ink.  The bird stamp, which has three components:  bird, wing and leaf stem, was stamped on Marina Mist cardstock then punched out.  I punched the stem again twice from Wild Wasabi cardstock.  The bird is put together with Dimensionals and adhered to the white flower over the stems.

The flower stamp in the set matches the BoHo Blossoms Punch which made cutting them out so easy after stamping them with Tangerine Tango ink onto Daffodil Delight cardstock.  I used Dazzling Details to add sparkle to the flower centers.

In my next post I'll show you a kicked-up version of this card...so come back soon! : )

Have a creative day!
