SINGLE STAMPS NOW AVAILABLE!

First of all, I want to express my concern and prayers for the portions of the U.S. which have been and continue to be ravaged by the super storm Sandy.  My heart and prayers are with all the people who have been affected by this storm.  I myself will be making a donation to the Southern Baptist Disaster Relief, Salvation Army or Red Cross to help feed people in these areas and I would encourage everyone who can to make a donation to the organization of their choice which will help these folks recover in the days and months ahead.

I would like to bring to your attention a new offering from Stampin' Up!

If you have longed to have just a stamp or two from a set, Stampin' Up! may have made your wish come true!  From now until January 2, they are making a number of stamps available in "singles", not sets!  You may purchase them individually; they are all unmounted.

I have created a new "page" on my blog where you may view three of the sets which are currently available.  Stampin' Up! has just announced two more offerings and I will get those up for you as soon as I am able.  Just click on the "SINGLE STAMPS!" tab at the top of my blog posts to view the stamps available!

Note:  More stamps have been added, and all Single Stamps can be viewed by going to my online Stampin' Up! store HERE and click on the Single Stamps frame.

Thanks for visiting today.  Stay safe.

    I Just Couldn't Help it.... Day 8

Oh, no, I tried to quit but I still had another idea rolling around in my head... I love those Daydream Medallions!!  The card I posted on Monday gave me the idea to make a Christmas card using this set.  I finally got it down on paper and posted...  It's a wreath!
The wreath was stamped with the two largest stamps in the set and Gumball Green InColor Ink.  I then added red "berries" with my trusty Cherry Cobbler Dazzling Diamonds liquid glitter  (How do I love thee?  Let me count the ways...!) and set aside to dry.
My red bird was punched with the Bird Builder Punch and Real Red cardstock.  I added a little top peak cut from another wing tip to make it a cardinal, embossed it with the Big Shot and the new Lace Brocade Embossing Folder then added a Pearl "eye".  (You can almost see the sparkle of the Dazzling Details "berries" in this picture... so pretty in person!)  I punched the leaf out of Gumball Green with the same punch and tucked it under the bird.
Gumball Green cardstock (what a great Christmas green!) is the card base for the Whisper White wreath layer (on Dimensionals).  I could have diecut the wreath with the coordinating Floral Frames Framelits but on this card I was going for something pretty simple and quick to replicate.  However, diecutting the wreath would definitely be a stepped-up version!  The bird was added with Dimensionals and a 1/8" Real Red Taffeta Ribbon bow was added at the top for the final touch.

The "Merry Christmas" greeting is from the Come to Bethlehem set, and inside is a verse from the Snow Swirled set.

I entered my card into the Friday Mashup Challenge!  It has both Christmas and sparkle elements for the challenge.  Go see what the design team did for this!

I hope you enjoyed the card today.  Had anyone planned to use the Daydream Medallions set for Christmas cards?  Hmm, I do have another idea or two but those will have to wait!  I must now prepare for my upcoming workshop!

Have a great weekend, and I hope you get to stamp!!

    Daydream Medallions & Floral Frames-Day 7

Card number seven in the series is one I received in an organized convention swap.  Made by Marilyn San Clemente, it uses both the Daydream Medallion stamp set and Floral Frames Framelits to create a beautiful "swivel" card.

Cherry Cobbler, Gumball Green, Summer Starfruit and Marina Mist were used in the color scheme.  Marilyn also used the middle doily from the Delicate Doilies Sizzlets Die to diecut the Marina Mist DSP layer, and then threaded 1/8" ribbon through those little holes!  A Summer Starfruit Dahlia finishes off the center!
As you can see, the top layer swivels open and reveals another layer with the greeting.  Isn't this a great interactive card?!  I love it and am so appreciative to Marilyn for making these beautiful swaps for our group!

Thanks for visiting today!  I hope you've enjoyed the cards I've been posting with this stamp and Framelit combination; I've enjoyed challenging myself to come up with some hopefully fun samples for this combo!

    Have a creative day!

    Daydream Medallions CCMC222 - Day 6

Good morning!  Today's card is #6 in my series using Daydream Medallions stamp set and Floral Frames Framelits.  This card, however, is using only the Daydream Medallions set; it's a CAS (Clean and Simple) card I made last night for this weeks Create with Connie and Mary Color Challenge #222.

Here are the colors for this challenge:

I moved out of my stamping "comfort zone" to do a CAS card, having been inspired by one I saw on Pinterest.  I chose to keep it light and use more Summer Starfruit and use the Gumball Green and Chocolate Chip for accents.
I love how the butterfly looks with this set!  I used a stamp from the Papillon Potpourri set, punched it out with the Elegant Butterfly Punch then accented it with a line of three Pearls.  "Happiness" is stamped in Chocolate Chip.  Chocolate Chip cardstock was punched for the Scallop Trim Border down the right side.

Another strip of the scallop border was placed just inside the card to carry the design throughout.

I hope you've enjoy this card!  Thanks for coming by!

Have you tried out the Daydream Medallions or Floral Frames Framelits yet?

    My best to you,
     Margaret

Gatefold Card, DD & FF Day 5

I hope you are enjoying the series of projects made with the Daydream Medallions stamp set and coordinating Floral Frames Framelits; today is the fifth in my series.  Thanks for indulging me in this projects; several friends have told me they have been encouraged to get their sets out and use them, and I hope maybe you will too, if you have them and haven't already!  You'll have as much fun as I'm having!

The card for today is a gatefold card.  Can I just say that this duo is perfect for these?  See what I mean:
Because they are symmetrical in design, they work perfectly for this type of card!
I used these colors from the Floral District Designer Series Paper:  Baja Breeze, Daffodil Delight, Rich Razzleberry and Whisper White.  The background paper on the front of the card is from that package also.  A Vintage Faceted Designer Button accents the center of the flower and a Rhinestone is added to it's center for a little extra sparkle!
This is how it opens up.  The cool thing is that when the card is closed, the rings sort of interlock slightly and hold the card closed rather than it popping open!  Love that!   Inside the card I added two strips of a different pattern of the Floral District Designer Paper to continue the color scheme to the inside.
I didn't add a sentiment because I don't know yet at this time for what occasion I will be sending this card.  The card is 5-1/2", so I cut the base piece of Baja Breeze at 5-1/2" x 11" and scored it on my Simply Scored Board at 2-3/4" and 8-1/4".  Using the Simply Scored made it SO easy to get the sides exactly even!   I used the Mono Multi Liquid Glue to adhere the flower and diecut ring to the front and they are fastened permanently!!  That glue dries very fast too, no waiting!!

Thanks for visiting today!  I hope you have a little time to get your fingers inky this weekend!!

Don't forget that you can purchase these and/or any other Stampin' Up! products from my secure online Stampin' Up! store HERE using Mastercard, Discover or Visa, and they will be shipped directly to your door from Stampin' Up!  Contact me through my Stampin' Up! website HERE if you have any questions about ordering.

Daydream Medallions & Floral Frames Tags - Day 4

The Daydream Medallions set is such a versatile set that it can be used for CHRISTMAS too!  All those lovely gifts are going to need tags and then you'll have a few very special gifts that need very special tags!  This dynamic duo of Daydream Medallions stamp set and Floral Frames Framelits will help you to whip them out quickly with your Big Shot and have fun doing it!  I have two tags for you today:
I used the largest stamp in the set and the second largest Framelit to create the outside layer of Whisper White cardstock stamped with Gumball Green ink.  Cherry Cobbler ink is stamped on the second layer of Whisper White cardstock then Brushed Gold cardstock (so elegant for the holidays) was stamped with "Peace on Earth".  This sentiment is  from the new Greetings of the Season set from the Holiday Catalog.
This shows the dimension of the tag and also the sheen of the Brushed Gold cardstock.  I used some of the luxurious Cherry Cobbler 3-1/2" Scalloped Tulle Ribbon for the tie on this tag; it pleasantly surprised me with how soft it is yet it has enough body for bows and edgings too!  I really like it and think you will too!  This beautiful tulle is also available in Crumb Cake and Early Espresso.
The second tag is made of Real Red, Gumball Green and Whisper White cardstocks.  I used VersaMark ink and White Embossing Powder for the patterns on the outer two laters.
The Whisper White sentiment layer was stamped in Gumball Green ink with "Noel" from the same Greetings of the Season set as the first tag and several Rhinestones were added for some holiday bling!
The perfect tie for this tag is the lovely Gumball Green 1/4" Sweater Trim!  It is SO easy to work with, ties lovely bows and gives great balance for the size of the tag.  It's also great for wrapping gifts, topping boxes and bags and tying bags around gifts like bottles and jars!  Again, I wasn't sure until I got it and used it, and I believe you'll love it when you use it too!  (and find more and more uses for it than I have mentioned already!)  It also comes in Cherry Cobbler and Whisper White colors.

You can purchase these and/or any other Stampin' Up! products from my secure online Stampin' Up! store HERE using Mastercard, Discover or Visa, and they will be shipped directly to your door from Stampin' Up!  Contact me through my Stampin' Up! website HERE if you have any questions about ordering.

I hope you've enjoyed the tags today;  I'd love to hear from you... what uses have you found for the Scalloped Tulle or Sweater Trim?  Share with us in the comments section?  Thanks!

More tomorrow.  Until then, happy creating!

Floral Frames as Picture Frame - Day 3

Sorry I missed posting yesterday but I'm back today with the next project in the series of Floral Frames Framelits and the Daydream Medallions stamp set.  This is a simple card featuring a diecut picture frame made with the Floral Frames Framelits.
This picture was taken at the Albuquerque, NM, Hot Air Balloon Festival by my friend Lora Stewart.  I cut it with the third from the largest framelit, then cut the Brushed Silver cardstock frame with the same and one size larger framelit.  I like the shimmer that the silver cardstock gives it!
The card itself is Calypso Coral cardstock, one of my favorites of the In Colors; it picks up that same color in the picture.  Night of Navy cardstock that has been textured with the Stripe Embossing Folder is layered over it.  A swath of Night of Navy 1/4" Stitched Grosgrain Ribbon over a strip of Calypso Coral accents the front below the frame.  I stamped a hot air balloon from the "Up Up and Away" stamp set in Bashful Blue and the sentiment from the same set over that in Night of Navy.  This was attached with Dimensionals.

This is a simple card and pretty quick to make.  I wanted to show another use for the Framelits, that they can be used to frame pictures, and not only on cards, but they are beautiful for scrapbooking too!

I have some lovely tags to show you next, so I hope you'll come back soon!

Thanks for visiting!  Have a creative day!

    Floral Frames Sunflower

Today's card is the second in my series of Daydream Medallions and Floral Frames projects.  This sunflower came together pretty quickly once I settled on the idea!
I used the largest Floral Frames Framelit to cut two flowers from More Mustard cardstock and assembled them as I related in yesterday's post.  The next smaller framelit in the set of five cut the flower that had been stamped in More Mustard ink; this was adhered with Dimensionals.
The Chocolate Chip flower center was punched with a 2-1/2" Circle Punch then embossed with the Big Shot and the Square Lattice Embossing Folder.  I swiped it several times with the Chocolate Chip pad to give it more variation in color and definition to the texture.  A Crumb Cake cardstock banner stamped with "Wonderful You" from the Loving Thoughts stamp set is attached under one of the beautiful buttons from the new Designer Brushed Bronze Button pack.  A touch of Chocolate Chip Taffeta Ribbon ties off the button.
I diecut two Always Artichoke leaves using the Autumn Accents die and attached them to the back of the flower.  The view shows some of the dimension of the card.  This was such fun to make!

Thanks for visiting my blog!  Here's wishing you a creative day!  Come back for more in this series in the next day or two!

Daydream Medallions & Floral Frames I

I had lots of fun creating some samples this past week for a presentation I gave to our Stampin' Up! demonstrators group on Saturday using the Floral Frames Framelits and the Daydream Medallions duo.  This is the first of several samples I made that I'll be posting here in the coming days.

I thought the Stampin' Royalty Color Challenge this week of Tangerine Tango, Rose Red and Whisper White was just perfect for this flower-shaped card and I'm really happy with the way it turned out.  I love how these colors play off each other.

I cut two Tangerine Tango flowers with the largest Framelit, scored one at the base of the top two petals and then adhered that portion to the second Tangerine flower, which had been run through the Big Shot with the new Lace Brocade Embossing Folder.  This forms the front and back of the card and enables it to stand.

The next flower, Rose Red cardstock stamped in the same color with the Medallion stamp, was added to the Tangerine with Dimensionals.
The next two flowers were stamped on Whisper White cardstock and layered, then topped with a Rose Red flower cut with the Floral Fusion Sizzlit (#115969), a clear Designer Vintage Faceted Button (#127555) then centered with a Rhinestone jewel (#119246).  All these layers add up to great dimension on this card!
The final touch was a greeting banner stamped with Happy Birthday from one of my faves, the Curly Cute set (#120510).

I'll be posting more of my samples in the next days so I hope you'll visit again soon!

You may purchase these and any other Stampin' Up! products from my secure Stampin' Up! website HERE.
