Ears to You Birthday

Have you seen all the Single Stamps that Stampin' Up! has now?  There are currently ten stamps that are new and do not appear in any set!  When I saw the Ears to You single stamp, I knew I had to have it!  So cute and so spring!

I saw the Friday Mashup Challenge which is to
  1. Make a project "using the Sketch".
  2. Or Make a project with "Bunnies".
  3. Or "Mash it Up" and create a project with the "Sketch featuring Bunnies"
It was great motivation to get ink on this stamp! : )

I chose the gorgeous Patio Party Designer Series Paper for this card because of the color scheme and this paper has some small designs which wouldn't overpower the bunnies.
I used the Label Framelits to cut both the Baja Breeze cardstock layer and the Whisper White layer.  I inked the bunnies up with Stampin' Write Markers in the colors of the paper:  Baja Breeze, Primrose Petals and Summer Starfruit.
Aren't those patterns on the bunnies a fun look?  I used the new Bitty Butterfly Punch for a butterfly out of a Summer Starfruit pattern and Primrose Petals cardstock and added the tiniest Pearls that have been colored with a Baja Breeze Marker.  The birthday greeting is from Itty Bitty Banners, colored with Markers then die cut with the Bitty Banners Framelits.  How easy is that!

I really enjoyed using this sketch and "mashing it up" with the bunnies too!  I had fun stampin' today!  Hope you do too!

Stamp A Stack Cards

Today I'm posting the cards we did at a Stamp-a-Stack for Jann McCollom's INKDemos group at the hotel on Friday night before the Stampin' Up! Dallas Regional on Saturday.  The cards featured stamps and accessories from the Spring Catalog or the "Best of" stamp sets.

"Oh, Whale!" designed by Jann McCollom

"Rain or Shine" Designed by Leslie Bumgarner

"Henry Says" designed by Amy Storrie

"Best of Birthdays" designed by Connie Stewart

"Oh, Hello" designed by Margaret Raburn

We had a great time meeting demonstrators and guests from many places around Texas and Oklahoma.  We even had one guest from England!  It was a fun evening of stamping, visiting, chocolate and expectation of a good Regional meeting the next day! (see Monday, Feb. 18th post; second post previous).

Hope you enjoy the cards!  We had fun making them!

Eleanor in a Window Frame

I'm so glad to get to stamp again!  I started with Technostamper's Sketch Challenge TSSC251 and then found the colourQchallenge #177 with an interesting color combination of Always Artichoke, Cherry Cobbler, Crumb Cake, Pool Party and Whisper White.
I really like the way the Always Artichoke combined with these other colors... I hadn't seen this combination before but l like the way it turned out.
I used the Everything Eleanor set which I love but hadn't used in awhile.  The Artichoke shape was cut with the largest Window Frame Framelit then embossed with the Elegant Lines TIEF before placing it on the card.
Here's a close-up of the focal area where you can see the tickets up close.

Stamps:  Everything Eleanor, That's the Ticket
Inks:  Cherry Cobbler, Pool Party, Always Artichoke (I had the Lucky Limeade leaf stem laying on my stamping desk and liked the touch of brightness it added...)
Paper:  Crumb Cake, Cherry Cobbler, Pool Party, Always Artichoke, Whisper White
Tools:  Big Shot, Window Frames Framelits, Elegant Lines Embossing Folder, Paper Snips, Blender Pen, Ticket Punch
Accessories:  Large Basic Rhinestone, Cherry Cobbler Ribbon (retired), 7/16" Natural Trim Ribbon

Thanks for visiting my blog today!  I hope you are able to stay safe, warm and well.  We are bracing for a winter storm and possible blizzard here in Oklahoma City! (eta: the snowstorm passed us by but we got lots of soaking rain that was SO needed!)

Stamp on!

Stampin' Up! Dallas Regional 2013

I just returned yesterday from a fun weekend in Dallas with my Stampin' Up! buddies attending the Dallas Regional Stampin' Up! meeting!  Lots of fun, inspiration, stamping and opportunities to learn, renew friendships and make new friends too!

Eager demonstrators waiting for the doors to open into the ballroom where the Regional meeting was held!

Over 600 Stampin' Up! demonstrators and some guests were in attendance!  Presenters were Shelli Gardner, co-founder of Stampin' Up!, Carrie Cudney, Shannon West, Holly Linford and Donna Griffith, all from the home office.  There were also a number of demonstrators from the area who demonstrated five minute "WOW" projects too!   We listened, cheered, stamped, swapped, ate, won prizes, shared chocolate and celebrated Stampin' Up!'s 25th Anniversary with a super-delicious cupcake treat!  It was a good day of learning, creating, sharing and inspiration!
There were LOTS of sample boards for our inspiration and photo-ops!

Horse Frontier

I've always loved horses so was pleased to see this new set in the Annual Catalog last June!  I thought it would work great for Connie and Mary's CWCM-002 Sketch Challenge this week.
I chose a print from Parker's Patterns DSP (Spring Catalog) and coordinating Not Quite Navy cardstock for the background papers.  It was love at first sight with this paper since I love all things Southwest (even though this dsp works with many other styles of artwork also!)   The card is Cajun Craze with a layer of Crumb Cake stamped lightly with the horseshoe image in Crumb Cake then run through the Big Shot with the Woodgrain Embossing Folder.

I added some soft Crumb Cake and Cajun Craze color to the horse with a Blender Pen and reinkers.  For the banner, I adhered the Natural Ribbon (Spring Catalog) to Not Quite Navy then ran it through the Big Shot with the Chevron Embossing Folder (then spritzed it with hairspray to hold the embossed texture-- don't know if it was needed but thought it wouldn't hurt!)  Yea, it worked!

Love these Soda Pop Tops in the Spring Catalogthis one went through the Big Shot with one tab open and only a cutting plate on top so it wouldn't be as flat as some... only lightly flattened.  I am so happy these are so easy to work with, and thought it was perfect for the horseshoe image; an Antique Brad is a great accent!

Stamps:  Horse Frontier
Paper:  Parkers Patterns DSP*, Not Quite Navy, Cajun Craze, Crumb Cake
Ink:  Early Espresso, Crumb Cake, Soft Suede, Cajun Craze
Accessories:  Soda Pop Top*, Vintage Brad, Natural Ribbon*, Chevron Embossing Folder, Woodgrain Embossing Folder, Distressing Tool*, Oval Framelits*

*New in the Spring Catalog

Thanks for visiting today!  Hope to see you soon!
