Mosaic Madness Make a Wish

Today's card is a Make and Take from Linda's Stampin' Up! party Thursday night.  We used products from the fabulously popular Quatrefancy Suite which is brand-new in the 2013-14 Catalog!

First I folded the Whisper White cardstock (8-1/2" x 11") in half then ran it through the Big Shot using the Modern Mosaic Embossing Folder (TIEF);  love that beautiful design!

A panel of Strawberry Slush print Quatrefancy Designer Series Paper down the left side of the card anchors the design.  The greeting from the Sweet Essentials set is stamped in Coastal Cabana on a strip of white and tucked under the panel.

The mosaics were stamped in Coastal Cabana and Strawberry Slush then punched out with the Mosaic Punch.  The small four-petal image was stamped in Daffodil Delight then punched out with the same shape punch (but a tiny bit smaller) from the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack (of 3); these were attached with Glue Dots.  I colored Rhinestones with Sharpie markers of the same colors for embellishment.  That's it!  Easy peasy with these fun new and coordinated products!

Flower Shop & Pansy Punch CCMC258

It's Thursday, and time for the Create With Connie and Mary weekly challenge!  This week it is a color challenge featuring three fabulous colors:  Melon Mambo, Daffodil Delight and Night of Navy.  What a great combination for summer cards and were creating fun!

I stamped the flower using Melon Mambo onto Melon Mambo cardstock, quickly added Clear Embossing Powder and heat embossed them.  I had made some clay flowers using SU's new Simply Pressed Clay a few days ago and left them white, so I pulled out my AquaPainter and Daffodil reinker to quickly color them then set them aside to dry.

The background flowers were stamped with Daffodil Delight first and then the lattice from Summer Silhouettes in Night of Navy.  The greeting is from Banner Greetings, a set available to anyone who has a Stampin' Up! party or has an order of $150. or more.

The light-as-a-feather clay flower centers were adhered with Glue Dots.  So easy.  And no additional postage for over 1 oz. weight either!

You are invited to join in the fun color challenge over at Create with Connie and Mary!  Just make a card using these colors and SU products, post it to your blog or a public location online then link it to Create with Connie and Mary!  That's it!  Just  good stampin' fun and creativity!

And while you're at Create with Connie and Mary, check out the information about their new SUMMER COLLECTION that just began last Saturday!  Twenty-four full color tutorials, cards, 3D projects, all using new catalog products, during the next four weeks!  More info on the CWCM website!

Mosaic Madness, Just for You!

I got to work with my Mosaic Madness set today!  The stamps themselves make such pretty images!  I really like the whole ensemble of mosaic products Stampin' Up! has come out with in this catalog:  stamps, punch, embossing folder and a Designer Series Paper collection named Quatrefancy Specialty

Two of the new 2013-15 In Colors, Pistachio Pudding and Crisp Cantaloupe plus  Whisper White comprise the color scheme.  You can see I used the Modern Mosaic Embossing Folder for the white background on a Pistachio card base.

I combined the mosaics with a stamp from the Layered Labels set die cut with the matching Apothecary Accents Framelit.  I colored it with Calypso Coral and Pistachio Pudding markers; it was layered onto the Crisp Cantaloupe label.

I discovered that the Four Petal Flower punch from the Itty Bitty Punch Pack (#118309, set of 3) would punch out a matching stamp design in the set so I used these tiny flowers to decorate both the Pistachio mosaics and Apothecary Label!  I just love it when I stumble on little discoveries like that which make my stamping easier and faster, don't you?!

Cantaloupe Label Love

Can you tell I like this Label Love set?  lol!  Here's another card; I saw a card online somewhere made by Darlene McCallum that inspired me to make another card using this set as well as the Soho Subway Designer Series Paper (again!).  But the look is different from my previous cards made with these products, and of course I put my own spin on it:

This time I used Crisp Cantaloupe cardstock and a sheet from the Soho Subway Designer Paper with that new In Color in it, as well as Early Espresso.  The card base is Very Vanilla with a layer of Early Espresso next.  Over that is a layer of Crisp Cantaloupe that has been stamped with the swirly stamp from the Creative Elements set in Sahara Sand for a subtle background.

Next I cut a banner of the Designer Paper and layered it on Early Espresso to make it stand out.  Across the top I used my Paper Piercing Pack Essentials for a "stitched" line.

Lastly I used the Happy Birthday stamp from Label Love, stamping it in Early Espresso ink onto Crisp Cantaloupe cardstock.  After punching that out with the Artisan Label Punch, I trimmed off the narrow outer edge to the solid line and layered in onto a Very Vanilla Artisan Label punchout.  Lastly I punched two more labels from Early Espresso cardstock, cut one in half vertically and one in half horizontally (to make two sides, a top and a bottom layer) and attached them to the back of the vanilla layer with about 1/8" showing.  This was attached with Dimensionals and embellished with six of the tiniest Basic Pearls from the pack.

Label Love stamp set:  page 33 in 2013-14 Catalog
    #130619 wood    $24.95

My Paper Pumpkin for June!

I received my Paper Pumpkin box just a few days ago and couldn't wait to sit down, see what it contained and what I could make with it!

Hexagons!!  Oh, so trendy hexagons and chevrons fill the box!  Four cards and envelopes, three stamps, three sheets of hexagons precut to punch out (one is white to stamp the chevrons on), a Soft Suede ink spot, as well as a sheet of directions with a picture of the finished project on it!  Wow!

The directions brochure shows the design which the contents will make.
I changed it up somewhat as I decided to use Bermuda Bay ink for the hearts and chevron hexagons rather than the Soft Suede ink that the kit includes.
The heart, Hello to you greeting and square chevron stamps were included in the kit.  The cardfront was pre-scored to punch out some of the hexagons!  I added a butterfly stamped with the chevron in Real Red and punched with the Bitty Butterfly punch.  I like that it's more colorful, especially for summer use.

I used the Thank You from the Perfectly Penned set, stamped in Bermuda Bay on this card.  Notice the hearts are stamped through the openings and are on the inside of the card!  Cute!

I used the Happy Birthday from the same Perfectly Penned set, and on this one used stars punched out with the star punch from the Merry Minis Punch Pack (not in the catalog but available on the Holiday Carryover list).  Love this bright color scheme!

Fourth and last card:  Here I used the included Soft Suede for the greeting, chevrons and the star punch.  But I did use stars here instead of the hearts.  I think this makes a card that can be for guys as well as gals or even a fall-looking card.  Your thoughts?

If YOU would like to have a Paper Pumpkin kit delivered to your door each month, you can!!  Just go to http://mypaperpumpkin.com/ for more information and to sign up!  These kits have everything in them to create the projects, are wonderful for busy people and/or new stampers who want to have everything prepared for them when they have time to sit down and create!  They are also fun for all stampers to create and to put your own twist onto them, as I did on mine!

When you sign up, I would really appreciate it if you would choose me, Margaret Raburn, as your demonstrator, unless of course, you already have a Stampin' Up! demonstrator!  Thanks in advance so much!

Soho Espresso - Just for You

I'm really enjoying creating with the Soho Subway Designer Series Paper!  It has so many beautiful papers in it that I didn't quite realize from the pictures in the catalog!

Early Espresso, Summer Starfruit and Island Indigo are three of the colors with Very Vanilla in this package of DSP and are shown in this picture; the Island Indigo is a diluted version of the standard color.   The card base is Very Vanilla, 8-1/2" x 5-1/2" then folded.  The Early Espresso layer was cut with the Delicate Designs Large Scallop Edgelit then dry-embossed with the coordinating Delicate Designs embossing folder.

The DSP was adhered to the top of the Espresso layer and a length of Summer Starfruit 3/8" Satin Stitched Ribbon was knotted and wrapped around.

The sentiment stamp is from the Label Love stamp set then punched out with the coordinating Artisan Label Punch.  I punched out two more labels from Summer Starfruit, cut them in half and adhered them to the back of the sentiment to accent it; it was adhered with Dimensionals for emphasis.  On the inside I added a vertical strip of this dsp to carry the color throughout.

This was a pretty quick card to make.  The designer paper with the Early Espresso is a great combination-- a very pretty color scheme!

There are seven different images in the Label Love set so the sentiment could be changed out for a number of different occasions!

Strawberry Lovely Romance CCMC257

Oh, so many new products to play with.. it's hard to choose!  But this week our challenge over at Create with Connie and Mary is a sketch so that helped me to pick out some pretty new things from my order to create with!

I love the mouthwatering new color Strawberry Slush!  I paired it up with Basic Black and trimmed it with Very Vanilla to create my card!

Over the folded Basic Black 8-1/2" x 5-1/2" cardstock base is a 5-1/4" x 4" layer of Strawberry Slush cardstock that has been run through the Big Shot with the new Modern Mosaic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.

For the central focal point, I cut the polka dot pattern from the Modern Medley Designer Paper with a new Deco Labels Framelit (couldn't wait to get those!) and turned it on its side, trimming off one end a little.  Next on Black cardstock I stamped with VersaMark the "Amazing" stamp from the Lovely Romance set, heat embossed with White Embossing Powder then diecut it with the coordinating framelit in the Chalk Talk set.   I then cut a piece of Vanilla and Black mosaic print DSP 1" longer than the Framelit, brayered it with Strawberry Slush ink, folded it in half and placed the fold under the Framelit 1/2" past the center, which when unfolded, makes it 1" longer than the sentiment Framelit.  The Very Vanilla cardstock layer was hand-cut with those wonderfully sharp little Paper Snips.

You can see all the layers here; each was attached with Dimensionals.  For the final touch, I added the 1/8" Black Taffeta Ribbon across the card;  instead of a bow or knot, I added small black flowers punched with the BoHo Blossoms Punch and centered with Rhinestones for some bling!

Here is this week's sketch #CCMC257 from Create with Connie and Mary!  Also, be sure to check out the CCMC website to see the cards made by the other wonderful designers!

Now it's your turn!  You can join the fun by trying your hand at the sketch, upload your card to your blog or a public location on the web where we can see it, then link it to this challenge #257 on Create with Connie and Mary's blog!

Wildflower Meadow Sympathy

Here's a sympathy card I needed to make today;  I used the new Wildflower Meadow set and Wildflower Meadow Textured Impressions Embossing Folder plus the new Pistachio Pudding color cardstock.

I wanted something soft and subtle and this beautiful new color just fills the bill.

I love these silhouetted flowers and the sweet hummingbird.  They are stamped in the same Pistachio Pudding color as the cardstock for a tone-on-tone look.  I think nature is so soothing to the soul, don't you?

Notice the tiniest Pearls that I put in the center of each flower; I used the medium size on the sentiment banner.  The sentiment itself is from the Thoughts and Prayers set and is stamped on Very Vanilla cardstock.  Inside is a sympathy verse from the same set.

The Wildflower Meadow set and Wildflower Meadow embossing folder can be purchased separately. However, it is more cost effective to purchase the bundle on page 83 of the 2013-14 Stampin' Up! Catalog and save 15% off the total of the pair!  Makes your stamping dollars st-r-e-t-c-h- further!
Wildflower Meadow Wood-mount Bundle     #132735     $21.95
Wildflower Meadow Clear Bundle     #132985     $18.50
Each item may also be purchased separately.

You may purchase any Stampin' Up! or MDS items from my official Stampin' Up! website HERE.  Thank you for choosing to purchase from me as your demonstrator!

Soho Subway & Chalk Talk CCMC256

Wow, I didn't know I how much I would really like the Soho Subway Designer Series Paper when I first ordered it, but, YES, I do!!  It has a variety of colors and great patterns; it just so happens that three of the colors are the challenge colors this week for the Create with Connie and Mary Challenge CCMC256Island Indigo, Summer Starfruit and Early Espresso!  Just perfect for this challenge!

I'm excited to use new products from the 2013-2014 Stampin' Up! Catalog!  All the papers except the cardstock are from the Soho Subway Designer Series Paper collection:  the woodgrain background paper is Island Indigo and Summer Starfruit tinted and the "flags" incorporate all three challenge colors.

The band across the card is the neutral color Sahara Sand, treated with the Woodgrain Embossing Folder and lined with Early Espresso.  The greeting is from the cool new Chalk Talk (set of six); it coordinates to the XL Oval Punch!  I trimmed it down outside the line then layered it onto another XL Oval Punch of Summer Starfruit, and that onto a Designer Label Punch of Early Espresso.  For the touch of silver on the end of the band, I painted three medium Pearls with a silver Sharpie marker!

The card itself is Sahara Sand, a neutral that works well with these prints.  I think this will be a great masculine card;  I plan to give it to my husband for Father's Day.

Here again is the color challenge this week for Create with Connie and Mary.  Be sure and check out the CCMC website to see the other cards made by the uber-talented Challenge Team!  Then it's your turn... seriously!  Use these colors to make a card or project using all SU products, upload it to your blog or a public online site then go back to CCMC and link your card!!  That's it!  It's fun to see what everyone makes!

The Create with Connie and Mary Summer Collection will begin with the preview week on June 17, REALLY SOON!  Be sure and check out the Create with Connie and Mary blog for all the details about the Summer Collection.  You'll find inspiration and motivation with tons of ideas using new catalog products!

Thanks for visiting!  Have a stampin' good day!

Memorable Moments Anniversary

Last week I went to a reunion of my mother's family in Ruidoso, NM.  One of her cousins and wife was celebrating their sixtieth wedding anniversary with a dinner at the reunion so I wanted to make a special card for them!  Memorable Moments was just the perfect set for this because it can be personalized for any specific occasion!

I used Stampin' Up!'s beautiful Shimmer White cardstock for this project because of its lovely rich sheen; since the 60th Anniversary is traditionally the Diamond Anniversary, I added Silver Glimmer Paper for its brilliant diamond-like sparkle!

Popped up on Dimensionals over the card front is another layer of Shimmer White cardstock that has been dry embossed with the Lacy Brocade Embossing Folder, which is retired I know, but my new Beautiful Baroque Embossing Folder hadn't arrived when I made this card.  Either would work equally well!  At this point, I gave this layer a good misting with the Vanilla Shimmer Mist;  it really has a pearly sheen which you can kind of see in the first picture where the light is hitting it!

I used my Big Shot and the Lattice Die to cut a lattice from the Shimmer White cardstock and then attached it with Dimensionals for added emphasis.  Medium size Rhinestones were used to embellish, another representation of the diamond anniversary.   The "6" and "0" from the set were stamped with VersaMark, heat embossed with Silver Embossing Powder then diecut with a Label Framelit.  Behind that is a Silver Glimmer Paper diecut with a larger Label Framelit from the set.

I wish you could see this in person as it is really much prettier and oh, SO sparkly!  My photography doesn't help, lol!  The "Happy Anniversary" was stamped inside, along with my handwritten congratulations.  : )

This is such a versatile set!  It has all the digits and you can combine them for any number to celebrate birthdays, anniversaries or other milestones of life!  I'm going to get lots of use from this!

Memorable Moments stamp set    #132039wood  $29.95;    #126682 clear   $21.95

Lattice Stampin' Up! Bigz Die     #115958     $21.95

All of these products can be purchased online through my Stampin' Up! website here.  And while you're there check out the Clearance Rack for reduced price treasures (these can only be ordered through online customer orders).  Thanks!

Happy day to you!
