Feathers and a Last Farewell! CCMC357

We have a really fun sketch this week at Create with Connie and Mary!  I am saying a last good-bye to some retiring products that I have enjoyed and still have some on hand; my "sneak peek" is scheduled to arrive this evening (if there isn't too much flooding)!  We have been in and out of town so was just recently able to place my order!  Next week I'll have new schtuff to show!  : )

I chose to rotate the sketch clockwise one turn to make a vertical card.  The base card is white overlaid with a pattern from the Sweet Dreams DSP (Occasions catalog).  The two Lost Lagoon DSP strips are from the Moonlight DSP Stack.

A layer of Coastal Cabana is behind the main layer of Crisp Cantaloupe.  The sentiment is heat embossed with White Craft Ink and White Embossing Powder.

Three feathers were grouped together for the focal image and anchored with a shape from the Ikat photopolymer set which I heat embossed in Silver (several layers for thick coverage).  A Basic Pearl colored with a Sharpie Marker centers the image and a knot of Baker's Twine ties the pieces together visually.

Stamps:  Four Feathers, Lovely Amazing You (photopolymer set), Eye-Catching Ikat (photopolymer set)
Inks:  VersaMark, Lost Lagoon, Basic Gray, White Craft Ink Pad
Paper:  Sweet Dreams, Moonlight DSP;  Coastal Cabana, Crisp Cantaloupe, Whisper White, Pool Party
Accessories:  Silver and White Embossing Powders, Basic Pearl, Baked Brown Sugar Baker's Twine
Tools:  Big Shot, Feathers Framelits Dies, Heat Tool, Paper Snips

Here is the sketch for this week's challenge:

Butterfly Sympathy CCMC356

We have a lovely color combination today from Create with Connie and Mary for Color Challenge CCMC356:  Blackberry Bliss, Soft Sky and Silver or Smoky Slate.

I used a Blackberry Bliss card base with bottom front corners rounded and heat embossed the sentiment with Silver Embossing Powder.  Next, with Dimensionals I added a layer of Soft Sky that has been embossed with the Spring Flowers embossing folder.

Over that is layered a 4" x 1" strip of a Blackberry Bliss print paper.

A diecut Butterfly and three small punched flowers, all from Brushed Silver Cardstock and embellished with Basic Pearls, complete the card.

Stamps:  Bloom with Hope (sentiment)
Ink:  VersaMark
Paper:  Park Lane Designer Paper; Blackberry Bliss, Soft Sky, Brushed Silver cardstocks
Accessories:  Silver Embossing Powder, Basic Pearls
Tools:  Heat Tool, Butterfly Framelits, Spring Flowers TIEF, Big Shot, Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack

Lovely Amazing Gold Soiree!

Hello!  Today is the day for our weekly Create with Connie and Mary challenge, and this time it is a great sketch!  I love that it is perfect for using up some of that wonderful Designer Series Paper (even scraps!) which I have on hand and wish to use up!  (perhaps you too?)

I cut 1" x 1.25" rectangles from four different patterns of designer paper for the left side and a 4" x 3/8" strip of another pattern for the vertical element.  The background card base is Pistachio Pudding.

I stamped a 4" x 3-15/16" (to be exact) panel of Crisp Cantaloupe with the same color ink and the dots stamp which mirrors the dotted paper on the left side.

The sentiment was stamped with Calypso Coral and punched out then layered over a Garden Green Blossom Punch piece.   I then added a tie of Pistachio Pudding Baker's Twine before adhering the sentiment feature with Dimensionals.

Stamps:  Lovely Amazing You photopolymer (sentiment), Dotty Angles (dots)
Inks:  Crisp Cantaloupe, Calypso Coral
Paper:  Gold Soiree Specialty Designer Series Paper; Whisper White, Garden Green, Crisp Cantaloupe cardstock
Accessories/Tools:  Blossom Punch (retiring), 1-3/4" Circle Punch, SU Paper Trimmer, Pistachio Pudding Baker's Twine.

Here is the sketch we have this week from Create with Connie and Mary!  Isn't this cool?

We would love to see what you do with this sketch challenge also!  The guidelines are on the Create with Connie and Mary website; we can't wait to see what you create with this sketch!

Thanks for visiting today!  I wish you a happy day and happy stamping!

Flower Medallion CCMC354

We have a colorful challenge today from Create with Connie and Mary composed of Bermuda Bay, Tangelo Twist and Gold!  I hope I can get this post done without losing power!  We have had severe storms including tornados here in Oklahoma City area today and even though they haven't impacted our immediate area, they have caused a lot of damage and now, due to unprecedented rain, we also have a widespread flooding emergency.  Lots of people are currently without power in Oklahoma City and surrounding counties!

I began with a card base of Whisper White and added a layer of Bermuda Bay diagonal strip designer paper to it.  Next I layered a smaller piece of Whisper White over Bermuda Bay and tucked three small circles punched from Gold Foil Paper o the upper right side.

The flower was created by punching out one layer of the Tangelo Twist dotted paper with the Flower Medallion Punch.  Next I stamped three more flowers with the coordinating flower stamp from Crazy about You set on the back of the Tangelo paper with dark ink then cut out each layer by hand with my trusty Paper Snips.  The layers were assembled with Glue Dots then topped with a Gold Metal button which had been tied with Gold Baker's Twine.  I cut a length of ribbon, attached that to the lower portion of the panel then added Gold Sequin Trim and then the flower with Dimensionals.

Stamps: A Dozen Thoughts (sentiment).  Crazy about You (flower stamp)
Inks:  Basic Gray
Paper:  Whisper White, Bermuda Bay cardstocks; Confetti Celebration (flower) and Birthday Bash (stripes) Designer Series Paper, Gold Foil Paper
Accessories:  Flower Medallion Punch, Gold Sequin Trim, Gold Basic Metal Buttons, Gold Baker's Twine, White Jute Ribbon, Circle Punch, Glue Dots, Dimensionals.

Here is the color challenge this week from Create with Connie and Mary:
