Lighthearted Colors!

It is Thursday which means it's time for our new challenge from Create with Connie and Mary!!  This week we have the color combination of Watermelon Wonder, Calypso Coral and Blushing Bride;  what a great color scheme!

  • I stamped my large Lighthearted leaf with Memento Black ink onto Whisper White cardstock then colored it in with the markers of the three challenge colors, leaving some spaces white, then diecut it with the matching Leaflet Framelit.  I love Framelits!
  • I cut a banner from the 1-1/4" Jute Ribbon and applied it to the Watermelon Wonder background layer.
  • The Watermelon was then layered onto the 11 x 5.5" (folded in half) card base using Dimensionals.
  • I stamped the sentiment onto Blushing Bride cardstock with Black ink then cut the ends with the Hexagon Punch and attached this over the ribbon and Watermelon layer.
  • A Blushing Bride Candy Dot was added to the center of the scallop area at the base of the leaf
  • Two White Candy Dots were added in the upper-right corner and one added to the sentiment.

Stamps:  Lighthearted Leaves, Fabulous Four (sentiment)
Inks:  Memento Tuxedo Black; Watermelon Wonder, Calypso Coral, Blushing Bride Markers
Paper:  Blushing Bride, Watermelon Wonder, Whisper White Cardstocks
Accessories:  Leaflets Framelits, White Jute Ribbon, Neutrals Candy Dots, Subtles Candy Dots, Dimensionals, Fast Fuse.

Here again is the color combination we are using this week at Create with Connie and Mary:

September Tour de Freaks!

It's time for the September Tour De Freaks!  We're primarily featuring products reflecting this time of year ... FALL & Holidays!  We love the items in the Stampin' Up! catalogs related to this time of year so grab a cuppa' and take the tour!  We have ten 'tourguides' this time so be sure to go all the way around the tour to see everyone's creations until you end up back where you began! Welcome also to all of you who have arrived from my very talented friend Debbie Henderson's blog.  Didn't you just LOVE her projects and artistry?!!

One of my favorite things about fall (other than losing the 100 degree temps!) is the beautiful colors of the trees and shrubs.  When I saw the Vintage Leaves set in the Annual Catalog, I could imagine them in rich fall colors and knew right then that I "needed" this set! : )

The new Leaflets Framelits are fabulous to diecut these; lucky us, we now have TWO sets of leaves that coordinate with these framelits!

Stamps:  Vintage Leaves, Endless Thanks (sentiment)
Inks:  Hello Honey, Tangerine Tango, Mossy Meadow, Rich Razzleberry
Paper:  Delightful Dijon, Mossy Meadow, Cajun Craze cardstocks; Timeless Type DSP
Accessories:  Leaflets Framelits, Lots of Labels Framelits, Washi Tape Punch, Gold Sequins, AquaPainter, Gold Thread, Boho Chic Embossing Folder

I love cute little 3-D projects that are quick and easy to make; I was really excited to see the new Square Pillow Box Thinlits in the Holiday Catalog!  It is so easy to whip up these pouches that can be decorated any way that makes you happy; you can use it for treats, small gifts and even a gift card!
I used my Bohemian Washi Tape to decorate this one (finally!  what took me so long to use it?!)  This pouch reflects some of the richness of fall colors that are so appealing:

Stamps:  Acorny Thank You set
Inks:  Rich Razzleberry
Paper:  Bohemian Designer Paper; Delightful Dijon, Crumb Cake, Very Vanilla cardstocks; Gold Glimmer Paper
Accessories:  Bohemian Washi Tape, Bitty Banners Framelits, Acorn Punch, Gold Button, Bermuda Bay Twine, Woodland Embossing Folder.

Your next stop is the artistic Wendy Weixler.  She makes the most delightful things..you'll see!  Just click below:

Get Well Soup! CCMC373

It's Thursday and time for our weekly challenge from Create with Connie and Mary!  This time it's a sketch!!

It seems I am frequently needing a get well card and don't have one ready to go!  I gave this set only a quick glance when looking through the new catalog until I saw a card made with it (do you do that too??) then decided this cute set might help and inspire me to get some get well cards ready ahead of time, lol!!  I realized it was perfect for this sketch (turned vertical).

  • I used this small-print DSP, stamped only the cup then cut it out and adhered the DSP to the stamped cup image, colored the inside of the cup with Blender Pens and ink pads, then fussy-cut the entire image.
  • Using the  new-in-the-Holiday-Catalog Softly Falling Embossing Folder, dry-emboss the 2" x 5.5" Pacific Point strip.  Layer this on a 2.25" x 5.5" panel of Old Olive
  • Fold an 11" x 4.25" piece of So Saffron in half crosswise and emboss the front with the Boho Chic Embossing Folder then adhere the Pacific Point Panel in the center using Fast Fuse (it will definitely hold it!)
  • Now layer the image over the Pacific Point panel using Dimensionals
  • Embellish with two hearts and one smaller one punched from Gold Glimmer Paper.  Voila!  Done!
Stamps:  Get Well Soup
Inks:  Tuxedo Black Memento, Pacific Point, So Saffron ink pads.
Paper:  Pretty Petals DSP Stack; So Saffron, Pacific Point, Old Olive, Whisper White cardstocks.  Gold Glimmer Paper.
Accessories:  Blender Pen, Paper Snips, Boho Chic Embossing Folder (TIEF), Softly Falling TIEF, Small Heart Punch from Itty Bitty Accents, Confetti Hearts Border Punch (for smaller heart), Dimensionals, Fast Fuse, Glue Dots.

Here is the sketch challenge for this week from Create with Connie and Mary; you'll notice that I turned it to a vertical orientation : )  Feel free to adapt it to your needs as well!

This is a cool sketch from Create with Connie and Mary!  We would love for you to join the fun, use this sketch as the basis for your card then upload it on the web where we can see your work then link it on the CCMC website!  Be sure to look at the other Challenge Team members' cards for some great eye-candy and inspiration too!!

Thanks for looking!  Happy Stampin'!  See you at CCMC!!

Saffron Wishes CCMC372

Happy Thursday and welcome to our weekly challenge from Create with Connie and Mary!  This week's challenge  features the color combination of So Saffron, Delightful Dijon and Night of Navy!  So pretty together!

First I inked the clear block D with So Saffron ink direct from the pad then touched about 1/2" all around the edges with the Delightful Dijon pad. I used a Stampin' Sponge to slightly blend the inside edges of the Dijon ink on the block then lightly misted the block a couple of times to moisten it.  This was then stamped on white cardstock and the block lifted straight up.  It is always interesting to see the patterns created with this technique because they are always different.  I gently used the heat tool to "help" it dry so I could proceed soon.

I stamped the flowers silhouette then the greeting in Night of Navy.  The postmark was stamped in Delightful Dijon then punched out and added with a Dimensional.  This white panel was layered onto Night of Navy then onto a So Saffron card with Dimensionals.

I also stamped an envelope with what ink was left on the block and stamp, after lightly misting each.  I love the soft look that resulted.

Stamps:  Serene Silhouettes, Butterfly Basics (sentiment, postmark)
Inks:  So Saffron, Delightful Dijon, Night of Navy
Paper:  So Saffron, Night of Navy, Whisper White
Accessories:  3/4" Circle Punch, Clear Block "D", Stampin' Sponge

Here is the Color Challenge this week from Create with Connie and Mary:
This is such a great color scheme and can be used in sooo many different ways!  My mind kept thinking of other ideas for this combination once I began working with it!   We hope YOU will also jump in and also take the challenge this week, just for some creative fun!  Don't miss the cards from the other Challenge Team members at the Create with Connie and Mary website  for a range of styles using these challenge colors!

Happy Stamping!!

Celebrate Bohemian! CCMC371

Happy Thursday!!  It's time for another challenge from Create with Connie and Mary!  This coming week we have a fun sketch to use as a basis for our creating!

After an inventory of my current stamps and mulling over several ideas, I chose to use the Bohemian Borders set for my card.  I know the name says "Bohemian" but this set has a Native American look to me!  (which I really like, by the way!)

My card is rather clean and simple; the other ideas that I had seemed to make it too busy so stayed with the clean look:  Two rows of the diamond-shaped stamp in turquoise, centers of coral and a few diamond insets of saffron.  The banner is Calypso Coral anchoring the wood "Celebrate".  I believe this would make a great card for a guy.

Stamps:  Bohemian Borders
Inks:  Tempting Turquoise, So Saffron, Calypso Coral; So Saffron Marker
Paper:  So Saffon, Whisper White, Calypso Coral.
Accessories:  Expressions Natural Elements, Paper Snips, Glue Dots, Dimensionals.

Here is sketch CCMC371 from Create with Connie and Mary for this week:

We would love to see what you create with this sketch!  You can see what the other Challenge Team members created by visiting the  Create with Connie and Mary's website!   Those girls can STAMP!!

Thanks!  I appreciate you visiting my blog today!  Have fun stamping!
