Starburst Birthday CCMC288

Oh what a good color scheme we have today from Create with Connie and Mary:  Coastal Cabana, Tangerine Tango and Baked Brown Sugar!  I am really enjoying the new Starburst Sayings and Framelits.  We need a birthday card for a friend so this work perfectly.

The card itself and the top layer are both Baked Brown Sugar cardstock... I really love this color of brown!  The layer was embossed with the new Arrows embossing folder.. what a great design!

I place three strips of the new Retro Fresh Washi Tape onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock then  diecut it with the 2-3/4" Starburst Framelit.  The birthday greeting and background are both from the Blue Ribbon set and work so well with the Framelits! 

The 'Celebrate' from Starburst Sayings was stamped twice with Tangerine Tango and colored in with a Coastal Cabana Marker;  The celebrate was cut from the second image and layered on with Dimensionals.  I love how the Champagne Glimmer Paper looks with the Baked Brown Sugar color and the punch that it gives with the layering and the little stars strewn around!

I think this card will work for most anyone but I will be sending it to a male friend of ours; it's not too fussy but these colors are fun and festive, don't you think?

Love You More, Two!

I have another Valentine today using the same fun Love You More set used for yesterday's card;  it is part of Stampin' Up's special collection for Valentines stamping and crafting that is only available until Monday, January 27!

This card features the globe stamp and the greeting that accompanies it: "you mean the world to me".  They are on the same stamp but I just did selective inking to use them separately.  I also used the eye-catching Fresh Prints Designer Series Paper Stack again today... such great designs!

Love You More!

A Valentine for you today.  I'm working on Valentines for my family and made this simple and easy card using the Love You More set.  What a delightful set this is!

Retro Fresh - Petite Petals CCMC287

Today's Create with Connie and Mary Challenge is a fun sketch!  I couldn't wait to use my new favorite Retro Fresh DSP (actually the  one I'm using at the time is usually my 'favorite', lol!) along with other new and current items.

The card base is standard A2:  8.5" x 11" scored and folded at 5.5".  Next is a 5.25"x4" layer of the Natural Composition Specialty cardstock which comes clear embossed in a variety of patterns; this is  the floral one.  I then cut a strip of this gorgeous Retro Fresh DSP, cut it in half lengthwise, trimmed the scalloped ends and adhered them to the natural layer.  

Next, So Saffron cardstock was cut with the 2-1/8" x 3-1/16" Oval Framelit, stamped with the Creative Elements background stamp and edges sponged with Crumb Cake.

I love this cute little bird from the Polka Dot Pieces set!  He's stamped in Coastal Cabana and punched out with the coordinating punch.. so easy!  A number of Petite Petals flowers were stamped in coordinating colors and added as was one In Color Boutique Embellishment.  I added Dazzling Diamonds to the centers of each flower as well as the leaves and embellishment; I love the 'lift' that even a little sparkle adds to a creation!

Perfect Pennants CCMC286

Today's challenge from Create with Connie and Mary is a pretty color challenge:  Island Indigo, Smokey Slate and Perfect Plum (which I haven't used in awhile!  Time to put it to work!)  I have some new products from the Occasions and Sale-a-Bration catties that I can't wait to use and I think they'll work perfectly for this challenge!

 

The Decorative Dots embossing folder is a Sale-A-Bration bonus item; you'll really like it, I do!  The "you & me" is heat embossed with White Embossing Powder.  The arrow and photo frame are diecut with framelits from the new On Film Framelits set.  (These photo frames are currently so trendy in the papercrafting world! So glad SU offers them!)

I cut Whisper White cardstock with the new Spiral Flower Die, sponged it somewhat with Perfect Plum ink on both the inside and outside edges then rolled it starting at the narrow end.  You can see a Stampin' Up!-produced video on YouTube showing how to make these lovely flowers!  I added a clear Rhinestone down inside the center.  Another new product I love is the Silver Baker's Twine...  that little bit sparkle in it adds so much!  (It also comes in Gold!)   I folded some Island Indigo cardstock and hand cut some leaves to finish the flower.

Love These Petite Petals!

This week Create with Connie and Mary Challenge has a great sketch!  The original sketch features flowers; I stayed with that theme because I was excited to use my new Petite Petals set and Punch from the Occasions spring catalog.   I was so happy when I saw those two items in the catalog because I've been hoping a small flower punch and stamp set, and there they were!

I used Rose Red Co-ordinations cardstock embossed with the Hexagon folder for the background layer over a Coastal Cabana card.

The sentiment is from the Loving Thoughts set, stamped onto Coastal Cabana and tied with Whisper White Baker's Twine.

I used two of the flower stamps in the set, stamped them on Whisper White with Coastal Cabana, Daffodil Delight and Wisteria Wonder inks then punched them out with the coordinating punch.  Each flower has Dazzling Diamonds in the center for a little sparkle.

Watercolor Wonder Note Cards!

Watercolor Wonder is one of the new product suites in the 2014 Occasions Catalog and it features lovely soft colors as well as coordinating stamps and accessories.  One such product is the set of Watercolor Wonder Designer Note Cards and Envelopes on page 23.

The set contains 20 printed, pre-scored cards on watercolor paper, heavier than regular cardstock, four each of five designs!  Twenty Ivory envelopes are also included!

These cards are so pretty and make up so easily!  Here I added a strip of Watercolor Wonder Designer Series Paper (#132994) and a focal point stamped with the new Sale-A-Bration set "You're Lovely" and diecut with a Deco Label Framelit!  So quick!

The roses on this card are pre-printed in shades of Tangerine Tango; the focal image was stamped with Crisp Cantaloupe and diecut with the Deco Label Framelit, as was the first one!  How EASY-PEASY is that?!  

I hope to get some more done soon; I do have other new Occasions and Sale-a-Bration sets and accessories calling my name, as well as I'm trying to get some deep cleaning done around here too! Busy-busy!

Flowerfull Heart CCMC284

I hope you've had wonderful Christmas and New Year's celebrations and have gotten to enjoy the people and activities you love.  Now it's time for another challenge from Create with Connie and Mary; this time it's a lovely color challenge:  Bermuda Bay, Strawberry Slush and Basic Black with my neutral of choice, Whisper White!

 
I love this new Flowerfull single stamp that is part of the Whole Lot of Love special offering available only until January 27th!  I colored the stamp with markers and stamped onto Whisper White then diecut it with a Hearts Collection Framelit that was just the perfect size!  I then handcut the Silver Glimmer Heart using the outside edge of the same Framelit as a pattern;  I just traced it on the back of the Glimmer Paper and cut out.  Viola, perfect size!

The Bermuda Bay polka dot banner paper is from the Kaleidoscope Designer Series Paper Collection (new Occasion Catalog).   The heat embossed "happy birthday" on a strip of Whisper White was stamped with the diagonal stripes from Gorgeous Grunge using stamped-off Strawberry Slush and accented with a Strawberry Slush Boutique Detail.  There is also a tiny border of Basic Black scallops on the bottom edge.
