Stamp-A-Stack Cards for Demo Meeting

Out most recent INK Demonstrators meeting was a Stamp-A-Stack held the first Saturday in August.  What a fun time!  Most everyone arrived early and ate at the restaurant then we had a private room for our meeting.  Each lady made two each of five card designs!  It was great to get together and catch up with each other since it had been three months since we have met!

Big Shot Baby Bib Card!

Last weekend I needed a card for a baby shower.  A soft lavender with yellow accents are the colors the mom has chosen for her new baby girl's nursery so those were the colors I used for her card.

I love these baby bib cards and they are so easy and fun to make!  Simply fold your cardstock in half and lay it on the Scallop Circle Die, with the folded edge inside the circle, leaving about eight or so of the scallops uncovered.  This insures your bib will have a fold giving a front and back to your card.  Run this through the Big Shot then for this bib, I used the Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder to emboss only the front of the card.

Using the Wide Oval Punch, punch out the neck of the card; this will leave about 1/2" on each side of the "neck opening" for the "hinge" that holds the front and back together.  I placed the tiny bows of 1/8" Vanilla Taffeta Ribbon over the loop of ribbon that goes from hinge to hinge for accent.  (That narrow ribbon is just perfect for these bibs!)

Decorate and embellish the card as you wish.  I  used one of my favorite images for baby cards here; it is from a retired set called Punches Three, and is punched out with the Wide Oval Punch.  I actually stamped two, one in Amethyst and one in Saffron, then cut the center part from the Amethyst and laid it over the Saffron layer.  Several tiny self-adhesive Pearls embellish this also but are not easy to see in this photo.  The weather was so cloudy that my photo is not what I would like but I had to take the picture before I gave it away and didn't have any choice!

Between the Big Shot, dies, embossing folders and punches, this card is easy to make!  I love my Big Shot and all the dies and folders that go with it!!  It adds another fabulous level and opportunity for creativity to stamping and papercrafting!  If you don't have one, you need one!  : )

Party Cupcake Picks

I recently was a co-hostess for a friend's baby shower.  Cupcakes were the cake of choice so I volunteered to make some baby-themed picks to decorate some of them!  I used the shower napkin for the color scheme and made three designs, ten of each.  I got to use lots of my punches, designer papers that I had on hand, and cardstocks.  I had so much fun doing these!

Some of the cupcakes had the pics and some had real pansies on them (they are edible, you know!)  Here's the serving tray on the table.

The above stamp is from the current Level 3 Hostess set Occasional Quotes!  Love it!

This is one of my favorite stamps; it is from a retired set.  I applied the toothpicks to the back of the front layer with double-stick tape, then added the back.  The double-stick tape worked great and the picks were decorated both front and back.

Our expectant mom is having a girl (you probably have already figured that out since the cupcakes are iced in pale pink, lol!)

This is how a party plate could look; we had a yummy menu!  : )  Umm, I may be getting hungry now, lol!

I just love how versatile stamping is!  We saved a lot purchasing plain iced cupcakes over the decorated ones and decorating them ourselves!  Plus it was fun to do and personalized!

Baby Tees Card

The Baby Tees Jumbo Wheel in the new catalog is SO CUTE!  I ordered it right away to use for what else but baby cards!  This is also one of my swaps for the Stampin' Up! convention last week!  (fun, fun!)

 
I wheeled the Baby Tees wheel with a Real Red ink cartridge onto the tiny polka dot paper from the Island Oasis Designer Series Paper (from the Summer Mini Catalog).  I then cut them out and added a little color to them with my Stampin' Write Markers. 

I love the new Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border Punch!  You can use it to make coordinating "ribbon" for your projects or tuck it under a layer and let only half of it show for a pierced scallop border!  So many uses to let your creativity shine!  I used it to make the sweet Baja Breeze "ribbon" for this card!

I stamped several coordinating images from the adorable Itty Bitty Bits set in Real Red. and Daffodil Delight then punched them out with the circle punch from the coordinating Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack.  These were used to embellish the tees and/or the white layer.  We also have the cutest Bitty Buttons that coordinate with these stamps and punches!!

Blogger's Challenge #115, Baby!

This Friday's Blogger Challenge is "Baby." When I saw the challenge, I immediately thought that the darling new set Animal Stories would work great for this! I was under the weather Thursday so am just now getting this up today!

I love the colors in the pretty Razzleberry Lemonade Designer Series Paper so I selected this delicate design that is predominately Melon Mambo and Crushed Curry and used it for the color scheme. The card base is Whisper White layered with Melon Mambo on top which has been run through the Big Shot with the Large Dots Texturz Plate.

I stamped the giraffe in Melon Mambo on white then cut it out and laid it aside. The Scallop Circle in Crushed Curry was diecut with the Scallop Circles #2 die then I added dots on each scallop with the Signo White Gel Pen. A circle of Whisper White was cut with the Circle Scissors then run through the Big Shot with the Small Dots Texturz Plate then adhered to the curry scallop circle. The giraffe was then added to that with Dimensionals.

A strip of Razzleberry Lemonade DSP was treated with the Scallop Edge Punch and overlaid with Melon Mambo Polka Dot Grosgrain Ribbon and tie. The sentiment "hello baby" from Teeny Tiny Wishes was punched out with the Word Window Punch and layered on a Crushed Curry Modern Label Punch out for the final touch.

Big Shot Baby Boy Bib in Blue

Can you say that fast six times? lol! Since I've already made a couple for girls, I just had to make one of these fun baby bib cards for a boy! They are so easy and cute!

Bashful Blue cardstock forms the base. I folded it in half, placed the fold about 1 1/4" below the top of the scallop and ran it through my Big Shot with the large Scallop Die so it would remain uncut at the top. I covered the front with a Bashful Blue argyle print paper scallop cut with the same die from the Prints Pack (Hostess Level 1 from the Spring/Summer catalog). Just perfect for a sweet baby boy!

I made dots with my Signo Gel Pen around the scallops and neck and put the Bashful Blue Striped Grosgrain Ribbon, knotted at each end, around the neck. The ribbon is attached with Mini Glue Dots. Check my previous bibs posted here to find the directions and a video by Christie Daugherty.

The little sailboat from Nursery Necessities is the focal image. The stamp was colored with markers then stamped. The oval shape was cut with the Coluzzle Cutting System oval template then layered on Brocade Blue cardstock and trimmed to match the white layer with my Paper Snips. (These are wonderful detail paper cutters!! So sharp and cut so easily!) The little star is from the Starstruck set and is adhered with a Dimensional.

Big Shot Bibs!

It's amazing what can be done with the Big Shot and dies! Christie Daugherty demo-ed these bibs at the San Antonio Regional and they were utterly adorable! Include the fact that one of my friends has a newborn baby granddaughter and I couldn't resist trying this myself to make her a bib card! Here is the result:

These are quite easy. The cardstock is folded, placed on the large scallop die with the fold below the cut line then run through the Big Shot. This leaves the top intact for a card that opens. The Wide Oval Punch is then pushed halfway in centered on the fold to punch out the scoop for the "neck." Stamp and decorate to your liking, add ribbon and bows and Viola! A Baby Bib!! Inside I'll stamp "Congratulations" and write a note before sending it off to my friend. I
hope she likes it!

I made a second bib also using Basic Gray ink on Pretty in Pink cardstock for my label. Both bibs are decorated with the bundle of joy stamp from Punches Three and punched out with the Wide Oval Punch.

Nursery Necessities

Seems like lots of people I know are having babies or grandbabies lately! Therefore I am really needing some new baby congratulatory cards to send; I got out my new (to this catalog) set Nursery Necessities and Year After Year set to make a card for a baby boy. I also wanted to use the Bashful Blue paper from my new 6"x6" Paper Pack which is filled with pretty colors not available in the other packs of Designer Paper Prints, like Apricot Appeal, Pretty in Pink, Real Red, and Wild Wasabi. You know, it's worth having a stampin' party just to get this paper pack! I wanted a stripe to go with it and found this cool stripe of Bashful Blue, Almost Artichoke and River Rock in my Le Jardin DP pack.

I kind of went "all over the map" or rather catalog in gathering up things to use for this card, but isn't that fun?!! It's nice also that the products coordinate so that takes out the hassle and frustration of combining things too! The elephant was stamped in Basic Brown and watercolored. The star is stamped on Very Vanilla and punched out with the large Star punch (love it!) The small artichoke star was punched from an additional larger one.

I used Amy Rysavy's layout sketch here and flipped it so that my elephant would be facing the center of the card.

So Many Scallops!

This is the first Sale-A-Bration set I've gotten to use and I already know this is going to be such a great and useful set! The four stamps in it are all designed to coordinate with the Scallop Punch; this makes for quick and attractive stamping projects!

To make this card to welcome a new baby girl, I decided to use the Regal Rose papers from the retired Loves Me Designer Paper package (I'm trying to use some of my stash). I stamped the Sweet One stamp in Regal Rose, punched that out and layered it on a half Regal Rose and half designer paper scallop. I added Dazzling Diamonds glitter to the moon to make it shine! The button is layered on a 1/2" circle punched from white; a sliver of cardstock is threaded through the holes. A tie of white Taffeta Ribbon finishes it off.

Papers: Whisper White, Regal Rose cardstock; Loves Me Designer Paper (retired)
Inks: White Craft, Regal Rose classic
