More Fort Worth Regional Pictures

I have more pictures of fabric projects from the Fort Worth Stampin' Up! Regional using Stampin' Up!'s newest product line, fabric!  We have two styles presented in the Holiday Mini catalog, the vintage look of the Deck the Halls assortment and the brighter and more contemporary Candy Cane Christmas!  Also found in the same Holiday Mini are coordinating stamps, buttons, ribbon and accessories such as iron on fabric adhesive, Big Shot Dies and lace (in the regular catalog), so you have everything you need to make cool projects with fabric! 

 

Christie Daugherty WOW-ed us with her Workshop WOW presentation using fabric.  She used the Pennant Die to make Christmas tree on an apron, quilt square and also framed art!  She also made a backpack tag, coasters and other assorted cute projects with the fabric.

Above is another card Shelli showed using fabric.

Here is another of our Make and Takes using the fab new Day of Gratitude set!  The background is Cajun Craze with a layer of Early Espresso cardstock then the Whisper White focal layer.  This is one stamp that have been stamped four times, lined up with the Stamp-a-ma-jig and centered with more Cajun Craze and one of the Pearl Basics.

The center circle is attached with a Dimentional for emphasis.  This was a quick card and would be great to have handy to jot a quick note of any kind.

Stampin' Up! Regional in Fort Worth!

Last weekend I traveled to Fort Worth, Texas, to attend a Regional Stampin' Up! meeting for demonstrators and guests.  It was great!  Four of us left Friday morning on the Heartland Flyer, an Amtrak train.  We saw some pretty scenery and a roaring river where there had been so much rain!  In Fort Worth, we met our larger group that had traveled by car.  Later that evening my daughter Robin Clark and her upline Kimberly Stallcup arrived from San Antonio.

We attended the Saturday Regional.  Shelli Gardner, the co-founder and CEO of Stampin' Up! was the seminar leader and gave the first presentation using Stampin' Up!'s lovely new fabric in different ways!  (The skirt she is wearing in the picture is actually made from our new Stampin' Up! fabric!!  And it can even be used for a tree skirt!  Yes!  Believe it!)  She made and showed some cards and a little pocketed card cover used to carry several cards and envelopes;  you can have them on hand anytime you want to write a card!

We saw some inspiring Workshop Wows; for the last presentation, demo Glenda Travelstead showed us how she does workshops.  She was both humorous and serious.  We laughed and we had tears well up in our eyes!  I think she connected with us all!  Great job!

We always look forward to the Make and Takes and the new free stamp set that comes with attending Regional!  This year it is the wonderful new Day of Gratitude set from the outstanding current Holiday Mini!!  Love it!

Here is one of the six Make and Takes we did.  This is a simple but lovely card!  I love this set!  The card is in Old Olive with the white layer for the sentiment, which uses the new Decorative Label Punch (also in the Holiday Mini!) 

Also notice the dainty little self-adhesive Basic Pearls and the luxurious Old Olive Grosgrain Ribbon which finish off the card!

More Fabric Flowers

As promised yesterday, here are the remaining fabric combinations used for the fabric flowers using the Big Shot and the Flower Folds Bigz XL Die.



Pink and Brown fabric combo.  Four coordinating pink and brown fabrics plus pink tulle used here.











Combination of four coordinated black and medium brown fabrics with black glitter tulle added.  Antique clear glass button used in the center.











Made from crimson, white and black print fabrics including a fun black and white zebra print fabric.  These are school colors.












Orange and black school print fabric with black with white polka dot fabric and black glitter tulle.




These are fun to make and wear!  The Big Shot and the Flower Folds Bigz XL Die make cutting out multiples of flowers so easy and they are all uniform!

Fabric Flowers Abound!

It's great to be back to my blog!  I've been away for several reasons but now plan to be here on a regular basis again!  Thanks for sticking with me and visiting again!  You are so appreciated!

I have been making these fabric flowers until I think I might could do them in my sleep!  LOL!!  I was making them for a table at a recent Administrative Assistant's Day event.  In the first picture you see one of each of the fabric combinations we (friends and I) made.  I'll show some close-ups of some today and the rest tomorrow.

Most of these flowers are made with fabric, mostly calico weight, although I did use some drapery fabric on the one which also includes denim.  It looks fun on a denim jacket or vest, although any of these flowers also look good on tote bags, quilted bags or purses, on headbands or hair clips also!

The idea and directions for these flowers comes from the co-founder and CEO of Stampin' Up!, Shelli Gardner.  Last summer at Convention, she showed one she made using the Flower Folds XL Die for the Big Shot which received an enthusiastic reception from the demonstrators present!  She has received so many requests for the directions that she put them on her blog SoShelli.com CLICK HERE for the tutorial.  I did do one or two things differently; rather than sewing (which I did on my first few flowers and is time-consuming), I used fabric glue sparingly and also Crystal Effects.  Those products worked great on the weight of fabric I was using!  Again, just be sparing with it; use enough to hold it but not saturate or wet it down.

Now for the flower pins for today:

Rich pink and black prints, including a pink and black leopard print!   Fun!

The blue pin is made from coordinating drapery fabrics with a lightweight medium blue denim addition.

Spring green print with black and white has a very crisp clean look!  Love that color green too!

This spring green and turquoise has touches of lavender in it.

On all the flowers, I used extra full layers of tulle cut out with the same Flower Fold XL Die.  I did not fold them but layered the flat "flower" between the bottom and middle layers when assembling the flower.  It gives another dimension to the flowers, as well as some sparkle (I used what the store calls Shiny Tulle because it does have a shine to it under the lights.  I also used some tulle in black and also white that had little dots of glitter on it, so that really added some bling!)
