Create a Cupcake, Spring Vintage DSP

The Create a Cupcake set and coordinating Build a Cupcake Punch in the Occasions Mini catalog are creating quite a stir!!  How much fun is it to have a cupcake set and a punch designed to cut it out?!!  Wow, way to go, SU!!

I designed this card for a simple but fun workshop Make and Take this past week:
The Springtime Vintage Designer Paper has some charming prints and patterns in it, such as the one used on this Rose Red card.  Pear Pizzazz cardstock was diecut with the Scalloped Rectangle Clear Sizzlet to make the background for the cupcake.
The cupcake top is Regal Rose that was punched out with the coordinating punch then stamped (using a clear stamp) with "chocolate" sprinkles.  The cupcake base is stamped with Early Espresso then punched out also.  The cherry on top is the sparkly new Red Glimmer Paper (which glitters without any of the mess!) which was also cut out with the punch and adds a bit of pizazz to the card!

The Happy Birthday sentiment is also from the set and was punched out with the Word Window Punch.  With all these wonderful tools, this card can be made when you need a card fast!

I hope you enjoyed your visit today; thanks for dropping by... Come again soon!

Love Impressions Heart Valentine

Here's another Valentine I came up with using the fun Hearts and Brackets die and the Big Shot.  It's so much fun to make Valentines!  Seems that we all love {hearts}!!  The card base is Pink Pirouette with a layer of Real Red that has been run through the Big Shot with the new Tulip Embossing Folder from the Occasions Mini.  The hearts and circles background paper is from the Love Expressions Designer Paper pack, layered over Whisper White.
Underneath the heart is a "ribbon" of cardstock punched with the Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border Punch, #119275, p. 200.  I'm so glad Stampin' Up! has this punch... you can punch out a cardstock ribbon when you don't have fabric ribbon to match your project!  Cool!
This closeup above shows the texture of the heart applied with the Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder.  The greeting is from the set With All My Heart punched out with the Modern Label Punch.  SU's brilliant Rhinestones accent both hearts!
The inside of the card features a sentiment from Occasional Quotes, a Level 3 Hostess Set fro the 2010-11 Idea Book and Catalog.  This is one of my very favorite and often used sets; it can only be obtained by hostessing a Stampin' Up! party of $600. or more.  This can be done!!  My hostess on Monday had a workshop of over $600. and received $75. in free SU merchandise of her choice, plus two free Sale-a-bration sets and three Hostess sets, all of her choice!!  That's well over $100. in merchandise!  How cool is that!

There is NO BETTER TIME to host a stamping get-together with your friends than during Sale-A-Bration!!  Contact your demonstrator to schedule yours today; if you are in my area, contact me!  :)

Thanks for visiting today!  We are having sunshine today for a lovely change, so we will enjoy it while we can.  Take a little time to create something beautiful today!

Pink and Silver Valentine

I've just recently gotten around to beginning my Valentines this year, but not to worry, Stampin' Up! has some beautiful papers and products to take care of my Valentine needs quickly!  And the Big Shot machine and dies are right at the forefront!

The color scheme of Pink Pirouette and Basic Gray are a result of the "love" pattern from the Love Impressions Designer Paper.  The gray background layer was run through the Big Shot with the Tulip Embossing Folder giving it a lovely frame around the edges.  Next is a layer of the designer paper and on that a grey heart.  The heart was cut with the Hearts and Brackets die then embossed with the Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder.  At this point I spritzed it with the Silver Smooch Spritz which gives it a pretty shimmer.  I then ran Snail adhesive all around the underside edge, cut a couple of strips of the silver Waffle Paper carried over from the Holiday Mini, and finger gathered it to the back of the heart forming a ruffle of sorts (see the Carryover Lists on the "Carryover items" tab at the top of this page for this item).
To the top of the heart was added a Vanilla Rosette from the new Occasions Mini; two short strips of Old Olive grosgrain ribbon were added for leaves and a tiny Pearl graces the center.  A pink banner embossed with "Amour" from the Artistic Etchings set pronounces the theme of the card.
Vanilla Craft Ink was sparingly sponged over the Tulip embossed frame of the card to accent the texture while two strips of pink grosgrain ribbon echo the diagonal print of the designer paper and complete the card front.

The inside is finished with a sentiment from the Occasional Quotes Level 3 Hostess set, a strip of designer paper and another smaller gray embossed heart.

I hope you enjoyed my Valentine!  Thanks for coming by today!  Hope to see you soon!

Petal Cone in Baja Breeze

One of the fun new products in the Occasions Mini Catalog is the Petal Cone die.  It makes hanging cones to fill with goodies as I show today or it can also be used in a multitude of other ways!
I used Baja Breeze cardstock and the Springtime Vintage Designer Paper for this one.  The flower is made using our Paper Daisies #119243, which are a delight to work with.  I sparingly daubed on some Pear Pizzazz ink and added a brad and Pearl in the center.  The leaves are cut with the Little Leaves Sizzlet, which is a must for your diecutting collection!
Here you can see the flaps covered with a coordinating print from the Springtime Vintage Designer Paper.  A length of Pear Pizzazz Seam Binding (new in this mini) is used for the hanger and bows.
The banner is also part of the same die. I stamped it with "Get Well Soon" from Thoughts and Prayers and added some flowers cut from the designer paper; it is attached with Dimentionals.  All it needs now is some goodies to fill it up for gifting!

There are any number of other ways to use this die and I believe we are going to find it is quite versatile!  You'll be seeing samples made with it on the net and I'll be making some up myself also and posting them here!  Here's the line drawing of the die:

Love Letters Scallop Square Book

I love the Love Letters Designer Paper (#117162)and it works so well with a number of our stamp sets and accessories!  Today's project is a little book 4-3/8" square decorated with the Love Letters DSP, among other things.  The covers were diecut with the Bigz Large Clear Scallop Square Die (#115950) and the Big Shot die machine (#113439) then covered with Crumb Cake cardstock.
Here are the front and back covers of my unassembled book.  I cut pages of Very Vanilla cardstock for the inside and added a small stamped image on each page with the Artistic Etchings or Charming stamp sets.
Closeup of tag area:  Stamped with Charming set and Lovely Letters alphabet initial then punched out with the Decorative Label XL Punch.

Flower area closeup:  The flower and "leaves" were punched from several patterns of the Love Letters DSP, layered then centered with a beautiful Antique Brad.  The red band across the bottom of the front was embossed with the Finial Press Embossing Folder then treated with the Scalloped Trim Punch.
Here's the assembled book.  I used Jumbo Eyelets set with the Crop-A-Dile to make holes for the rings.  A number of Stampin' Up! ribbons are used to embellish the rings.

Small books like this are good for so many purposes; you can add pictures and journaling to each page for a mini-scrapbook and carry it in your purse to show off your children, grandchildren, pets or other photos!

All of these products are by Stampin' Up! and you can purchase them through my online store HERE.

Don't forget that the biggest sale of the year begins Tuesday, January 25:  SALE-A-BRATION!!  You receive free stamps (or other premiums) with every $50. purchase... no limit!!  Woohoo!   You also receive more freebies for hostessing a workshop during Sale-A-Bration!  Have you booked yours yet?

Elegant Lines Matchbox Gift

One of the great items in the Stampin' Up! Catalog is the Matchbox Bigz XL Die (#114890).  You can do so many things with it, more than I realized when I first saw it.  Here's a pretty little matchbox in Cherry Cobbler cardstock that will hold four chocolate nuggets, which can be wrapped in coordinating paper if one wishes.
Above is the box closed and standing upon it's side.  The outside layer was embossed with the Elegant Lines Embossing Folder after it was die cut with the Big Shot.
The above view shows the cover removed; the box portion will hold four nuggets, other candy or some really nice jewelry (a girl can dream, can't she, lol!).
A similar view but higher above.  The "Thanks" was stamped in Cherry Cobbler ink and punched out with the Scallop Oval Punch; beautiful Victorian crochet lace trim is wrapped around the outer cover and a clear Rhinestone Brad was added to hold the lace together.

You can visit my Stampin' Up! store here and see the new Occasions Mini products as well as place your order.

Thanks for visiting today!  I hope you have a great day!

Create a Cupcake; Lap of Luxury

This adorable set, Create a Cupcake, from the new Occasions Mini Catalog 2011 has a coordinating punch aptly named the Build a Cupcake Punch!  How clever is that!  You can stamp then punch and there's no tedious cutting out!!  Gotta' love that, right!?
I used the Lap of Luxury Designer Paper for the first time and really like the color scheme of Pretty in Pink, Concord Crush, Basic Grey and Very Vanilla.  The Basic Grey background was embossed with the new Framed Tulips Embossing Folder.  I love how it makes such a lovely frame, leaving space for stamping and decorating!  I treated it with the Vanilla Shimmer Smooch Spritz before adding the other elements of the card.
The cupcake in Concord and Pink was layered onto Very Vanilla Scallop Rectangle diecut background which was sponged with pink then adhered over two squares of the Lap of Luxury DSP.  A Basic Rhinestone at the tip of the candle adds some bling as do two tiny Pearls on the squares.  Diagonal ribbons of pink grosgrain ribbon complete the card.

Sorry it's been awhile since I've posted.  The holidays, the weather, other issues.., life, you know!  I do now have a number of things to post so be watching!

Thanks for visiting!

JOY Wall Hanging

I always look forward to my Stamp Therapy group of Stampin' Up! demonstrators meeting together before Christmas and exchanging gifts; they make such special things!  The gift I'm showing today is a beautiful wall hanging made by Leslie Bumgarner.  I've admired these but not made one yet  (it is on my long & ever growing list of projects to try) so I was thrilled to receive this!

Leslie used Deck the Halls Designer Series Paper and the coordinating cardstock colors of Cherry Cobbler, Very Vanilla and Always Artichoke.
The large Scallop Square and Scallop Circle dies were used to cut the backgrounds for each segment.  The letters were cut with the Serif Essentials Alphabet die set and the Poinsetta flower with the Five Petal Flower Punch.  A large pearl finishes the flower center.

The segments were connected with Early Espresso 1 1/4" Striped Grosgrain Ribbon; the "O" is embellished with a touch of Early Espresso 3/8" Taffeta Ribbon.
I love this red bird (punched with the Two-Step XL Bird Punch) which adorns the "Y"!  His eye is a Basic Pearl.  So adorable!

Any of these products can be purchased in my online Stampin' Up! web store here!

Thanks for visiting today!  Here's wishing you a Happy New Year filled with blessings!

Warmly,

Margaret
