Blogger's Challenge #93: Sketch

I've joined a group of stampers who participate weekly in a "Bloggers Challenge". It can take many forms; this week it is a sketch challenge, and I really like those. Here is the sketch:

For my card, I use a 6" x 6" piece of Rose Red card stock folded in half to make a 3" x 6" card, a great size. I chose the yummy Raspberry Tart Designer Paper to layer on that, then the wide Rose Red Stitched Grosgrain Ribbon, which coordinates beautifully.

For the focal point I die cut four flowers with the medium flower on the Sizzix Daisies #2 die, three in Pretty in Pink and one in Cameo Coral, colors found in the DSP. I die cut one small daisy in Pretty in Pink for the top layer. I used a pewter Build-A-Brad for the flower center with a 1/2" punch of the same DSP used on the card.

The sentiment is from the Chit-Chat Rub-Ons package which has probably a couple of hundred sayings ready to be applied to your project! I'm really using and liking those!

For the three small embellishments I made small circles with my Signo White Gel Pen then spooned Dazzling Diamonds glitter onto them. I discovered that the glitter sticks to the gel and when it dries, it's permanent!

I am honored to get to participate in the Blogger's Challenge. You can click here to go to other player's blogs and see what they've made for today's challenge.

Thanks for visiting! Have a good day and some fun stampin'!

Petal Pizzazz Tres Chic

One of the new sets in the Stampin' Up! Spring/Summer Catalog is Petal Pizzazz. It consists of seven stamps, five of which are bold flowers. This is a great set to create bright splashy flowers, or in the case of this card, much softer flowers...depending on your choice of colors and papers.

I stamped the flower in Cameo Coral onto white cardstock and punched them out with the Scallop Circle Punch. I inserted a white jumbo brad into the center of each, applied glue with the Two-Way Glue Pen and added Dazzling Diamonds Glitter. Three leaves were stamped in olive and cut out; this was laid aside.

Tres Chic was stamped in rose red onto the coral cardstock and adhered to the Rose Red card base. A strip of Raspberry Tart Designer Paper was placed at the bottom and a strip of white cardstock that had been punched with the Eyelet border punch adhered over that. Rose Red grosgrain covers the seam and a bow finishes it off.

The sentiment is a rub-on from the Chit Chat package which has over a hundred sayings in it! These work great on so many surfaces, including ribbon!

Stamps: Petal Pizzazz, Tres` Chic (background)
Ink: Rose Red, Cameo Coral, Old Olive
Paper: Raspberry Tart Designer Paper; Whisper White, Rose Red and Cameo Coral card stock
Accessories: Jumbo white brad, Dazzling Diamonds Glitter, Two-Way Glue Pen, Scallop Circle Punch, Eyelet Border Punch, 1/4" Rose Red grosgrain ribbon, Chit Chat Rub-Ons, Mini Glue Dots.

Thanks for dropping by! I appreciate your visit and comments! Have a good evening!

TSSC59 Kiwi & Pears & Chocolate, O My!

It's Monday so time again for Technostamper's Monday Sketch Challenge! Here is the sketch for today: simple and straightforward.

In mentally searching for just the right focal point I went through a number of ideas and stamp sets, a couple of which I have on order and not here yet, so they were out, lol! I also considered a Big Shot flower which would be 3D and give some dimension, but again, the one I had "in my head" is on order. :) I glanced over at my So Tweet Chipboard just waiting for me... Aha! That's it! I was taken by the pears and the cute birds in this chipboard the first time I saw it in the catalog so just "had to have it." This is actually the first time to use this chipboard collection and I have to say, it is so much fun! As an added bonus, the Good Morning Sunshine Designer Series Paper was designed to coordinate with it so out that came too! What bright cheery colors! I'm havin' funstampin' now! lol!

I covered the pear and leaves with the Good Morning Sunshine DSP using SU's Glue Stick. It is wonderful glue for adhering paper to chipboard; it adheres great, is inexpensive and dries fast. A little sanding with the sanding block left the edges smooth, and I sanded enoiugh to get the white edges I desired to help define their shapes. I added a little blush to the pear using a Sponge Dauber with just a smidgen of Cameo Coral ink; I used my Chocolate Chip Craft Stampin' Spot for the stem. I adhered these chipboard pieces to a piece of Kiwi Kiss which had been run through the Big Shot with a Texturz Plate then layered on Chocolate Chip cardstock.

The card base is Summer Sun then a layer of Chocolate Chip. Two different but coordinating pieces of Good Morning Sunshine DSP were layered on that and a piece of Chocolate Chip grosgrain was added over the seam. The image piece was layered on that. A sentiment from the Chit Chat Rub-Ons found a home right below the pear on the chocolate; Lately I find myself using those frequently because they are so easy, there is a huge selection of sayings in that set PLUS they go on dark or rich colors and show up so well! There is also a sheet of the same sayings in Chocolate for lighter color papers in the same package. Great product!

Stamps: none
Inks: Cameo Coral Classic, Chocolate Chip Craft Ink
Paper: Good Morning, Sunshine DSP; Summer Sun, Chocolate Chip, Kiwi Kiss card stock
Accessories: Chocolate Chip 5/8" Grosgrain ribbon, Chit Chat Rub-Ons
Tools: Big Shot, Texturz Plates, On Board So Tweet Chipboard, Sanding Block, Sponge Dauber, Paper Snips

Powder Room Perk-Ups

Home decor is currently a big trend in papercrafting. For retreat, our planning team did a display table with items for decorating and "pretty-ing"up one's home. This trio is for the powder room and includes a fragrant candle, a bottle for cotton tips and a decorated spare roll of tissue.

The glass candle holder is embellished with the Chocolate Rub-Ons from the Sale-A-Bration set and a touch of chocolate poly twill ribbon. The jar and tissue have a band of Chocolate Chip cardstock and Afternoon Tea Designer Paper. The Designer Paper was wheeled with the Swirly Jumbo Wheel before applying. The same chocolate ribbon is tied around each. The top of the jar is layered with Chocolate Chip Cardstock and Afternoon Tea DP and a half-back pearl from the Pretties Kit.

Any ideas how you can use your stamping talent and supplies to spiffy up a small area in your home? It can be quick, easy and inexpensive using what you may already have on hand!

Thanks for dropping by! Happy Saturday!

Lovely Labels & More Rub Ons!

I saw this cute little pail and couldn't resist buying it because I knew it would be just perfect for some rub ons, especially the CHOCOLATE!! Blue and brown are so yummy together (lol!) so I couldn't wait to get home and decorate this for a little gift of, what else, CHOCOLATE!

The rub ons are from my free Sale-A-Bration stash (I hope you didn't miss getting some of these during Sale-A-Bration). Just be sure to clean your surface before applying them; I used a cotton ball and alcohol to get my surface free of fingerprints and any oils. I used a SU cello bag for my treats, tied with lucious 5/8" CHOCOLATE grosgrain ribbon.

The tag is stamped with CHOCOLATE CHIP Craft ink and clear embossed, then a hanger punched with the Word Window punch and embellished with a flower punched with the Three For You punch is added to the top. SU's new narrow poly twill ribbon in CHOCOLATE (do you see a theme here? lol!) is threaded through and tied to the top. Below is a close-up of the tag. I can see that Lovely Labels is going to be a great and useful addition to my stamp collection as it has four stamps which fit a variety of occasions and uses, such as tags, cards, 3-D projects and scrapbook pages.

Stamps: Lovely Labels
Inks: Chocolate Chip Craft
Cardstock: Bashful Blue, Chocolate Chip
Accessories: silver brad, corner rounder punch, Three for You punch, Word Window punch, 5/8" grosgrain ribbon, 1/4" poly twill, cello bag.

All products ©Stampin' Up! except pail, candy and shreds.

Hope you enjoyed! Thanks for dropping by!

Really Cool Rub Ons!

Have you tried the new Rub Ons from Stampin' Up!? These are so cool and I'm having too much fun playing with them! I have to watch myself because if it doesn't move, I may find myself applying a Rub On to it! LOL!

I was in a store recently which had just put out all these new spring tins so I bought this red one with flowers pierced around the top. I thought it would be just perfect for these white rub ons from the Sale-A-Bration set "Love and Happiness" which is FREE with a $50. order until March 17! SU's Red and White Striped grosgrain is tied through the top of the tin. I love the way this turned out. What do you think?

Then I spied this little copper-colored tin which I had left from last year just sitting in my stamp room. It was just calling for some decoration so...

I used this design from the sheet of black rub ons from the same FREE Sale-A-Bration "Love and Happiness" package! It sure did dress it up! Everyone who has seen it has really liked it!

Hmm, there are two more untouched sheets of rub ons in that free package, one is chocolate and one is olive; wonder what I can put those on! LOL! Plus I still have many left from my black and white sheets too!

Don't be left out of Sale-A-Bration! Call or email to order by Monday morning at the latest!

Happy Wednesday, everyone!
