JOY Wall Hanging

I always look forward to my Stamp Therapy group of Stampin' Up! demonstrators meeting together before Christmas and exchanging gifts; they make such special things!  The gift I'm showing today is a beautiful wall hanging made by Leslie Bumgarner.  I've admired these but not made one yet  (it is on my long & ever growing list of projects to try) so I was thrilled to receive this!

Leslie used Deck the Halls Designer Series Paper and the coordinating cardstock colors of Cherry Cobbler, Very Vanilla and Always Artichoke.
The large Scallop Square and Scallop Circle dies were used to cut the backgrounds for each segment.  The letters were cut with the Serif Essentials Alphabet die set and the Poinsetta flower with the Five Petal Flower Punch.  A large pearl finishes the flower center.

The segments were connected with Early Espresso 1 1/4" Striped Grosgrain Ribbon; the "O" is embellished with a touch of Early Espresso 3/8" Taffeta Ribbon.
I love this red bird (punched with the Two-Step XL Bird Punch) which adorns the "Y"!  His eye is a Basic Pearl.  So adorable!

Any of these products can be purchased in my online Stampin' Up! web store here!

Thanks for visiting today!  Here's wishing you a Happy New Year filled with blessings!

Warmly,

Margaret

Christmas Money Holders

Here are some of the money or check holders that I gave for Christmas.  You know, money is always the right color and just what young families need so I felt I couldn't go wrong!  lol!  I had fun making these because I love all the colors and I got to use that beautiful & sparkly Candy Cane Christmas Designer Paper which everyone else loved too (we know because it totally sold out!!)

Strips of white cardstock were treated with the Scallop Edge Punch then adhered underneath the edge of the front flap to dress up these holders and make them more festive.  Then a strip of the Candy Cane Christmas DSP was adhered to the top of the flap; the red stripes in this paper are glittery which adds so much to the project!

I also got to "play" some more with that wonderful new Northern Frost snowflake Decorative Strip Die for the Big Shot die cut machine!  In just one pass through the Big Shot, it produces eight various sized perfect and beautiful snowflakes!  Love them!  I layered them on a Scallop Circle punch out in a coordinating color to emphasize them, then centered them with nice red rhinestones left from other crafts I had done.  This was adhered to a belly band of cardstock to keep them closed.

The size of the cardstock for the folders is 8" x 6-3/4".  I scored it at 3" and 6-1/4".  I then punch half a circle in the center of the 3" portion, folded it up and adhered it, forming the pocket with a circular "notch" which aids in retrieving the money or check in the pocket.  (Sorry, I didn't think to take a picture of that!)  I cut a strip from the remnants of  each sheet of cardstock 1" wide and long enough to wrap around the folder to make the belly band, adhered it then added the snowflake embellishment I described above.  I stamped the "Merry Christmas" greeting from the A Cardinal Christmas set in the lower right corner of each folder.

Here are some individual pictures of the folders:

The snowflake die used is found in the Holiday 2010 Mini Catalog (which ends January 3) will be carried over to the next quarter so it will be available for purchase the next few months also!  You may order it from my Stampin' Up! website here  or contact me to order!  Also, don't forget the Filled with Love promotion from now until January 24 for your free package of Bitty Buttons!  (see the promotion information on the upper right corner of the screen).

Thanks for visiting today!  I hope you're having a joyous holiday season and will enjoy the New Year festivities this evening and tomorrow!  Be careful out there tonight!  I hope to watch the Rose Parade tomorrow before football takes over the television for the rest of the day!  Lol!!

Bells and Boughs

I took advantage of the recent Stampin' Up! special and purchased the lovely vintage set Bells and Boughs.  I'm so glad I did; it makes such pretty cards.  It is also well-suited to heat embossing which is what was done on this card.

After the image was embossed in gold, color was added with Cherry Cobbler and Always Artichoke Stampin' Write Markers then layered onto Cherry Cobbler cardstock.  Hard to see in the picture but a tiny Pearl was added to the bell clapper.

Over a Cherry Cobbler card is a layer Whisper White cardstock, the top half of which was dry embossed with the Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder.  The Christmas greeting was heat embossed in gold on the lower right side.  A strip of Deck the Halls Designer Paper which was treated with the Scallop Border Punch plus a sash of Cherry Cobbler Seam Binding center the card, then the focal image is layered on top.

I was inspired by a lovely card made by Selene Kempton.  Thanks, Selene!
I hope you are making progress toward your Christmas celebrations!!

Thanks for dropping by!  Have a joyful holiday!

Candy Wrapper Treat Boxes for Christmas!

Here are two more Candy Wrapper Treat Boxes done up for the Christmas season!  These little boxes would be adorable used in so many ways, not only for gifts but also home decor!  How cute would these be for table favors for a Christmas party or dinner (they could also be used for place cards with a name tag added)?!  They could also be hung with pretty ribbon on the Christmas tree hiding cash, a check or small gifts inside!  What about making different colors and using them on a garland for the mantle?  I'm sure you can come up with even more fun and creative ideas yourself!!

The festive Jolly Holiday Designer Series Paper and coordinating Old Olive cardstock was used for these boxes.  Each of these candy wrapper boxes uses just one-half sheet of 8-1/2" x 11" cardstock so you can get two from one sheet!!

The giant "rick-rack" trim on this box was cut with the Tasteful Trim Bigz XL Die and wrapped around the box over a layer of a different pattern from the same Jolly Holiday DSP.  It is simple but so effective!

This box is also made from a Jolly Holiday DSP pattern.  Old Olive 1/4" Grosgrain Ribbon encircles the box and Victorian lace trim is tucked into the bow.

The tag is stamped with a stamp from the Got Treats set which has a number of versatile and adorable stamps, perfect for gifting!  The tag was punched out with the lovely new Decorative Label XL Punch!

This Bigz L Die Candy Wrapper #120890, $32.95 is from the Holiday 2010 Holiday Mini and was used for both the boxes.  You may purchase it from my online Stampin' Up! website here and just click on the Shop Now button in the upper right hand corner!

Edited 10-21-2014  This die is on sale on by Stampin' Up! in my online store for 40% off!!  Get it now before it's gone forever!  Click here:  www.stampinup.com/ECWeb/ProductDetails.aspx?productID=120890&dbwsdemoid=58016

The cool thing is that this candy wrapper isn't limited just to Halloween or Christmas, but can be used for occasions year-round!! Tuck little notes into it for someone special or fill one with treats just to say "hello or "I'm thinking of you" for someone!  You'll really brighten someone's day!

Thanks for visiting!  Hope to see you soon!

Peaceful Season Card

Peaceful Season is a new Hostess Set in the Holiday Mini which can be a free bonus to you when you hostess a Stampin' Up! Workshop for a fun night with your friends!  It has eight beautiful stamps, two of which are gorgeous script sentiments!
I used two patterns of the Deck the Halls Designer Series Paper, Gold Embossing on the sentiment, Cherry Cobbler Seam Binding Ribbon, and cut out the dove that was stamped on Artichoke cardstock then Smooch Spritzed with the gold.

The snowflakes are punched from SU's Brushed Gold cardstock, such elegant paper!  Tiny pearls from the Basic Pearls are self-adhered to the card.

Have you considered having your friends over for stamping and refreshments?  It's a fun and creative girls time, and you can earn some great FREE Stampin' Up! products too!

Candy Wrapper Treat Boxes!

Have you seen the new Candy Wrapper Sizzix Die for the Big Shot?  It's in that fabulous new Holiday Mini catalog!  Each die only uses a half-sheet of 8-1/2" x 11" cardstock and they are cut and scored for you when you run it through the Big Shot!  No guesswork and no adding scoring/folding lines!

Here are a couple I've made for fall celebrations; first is Trick or Treat!

The tag stamp is from Grateful Greetings set, and garnished with ink distressing and touches of our beautiful new Champagne Glass Glitter!  A dash of the Raven black lace compliments the tie of Pumpkin Pie grosgrain ribbon.

On the backside, you can easily see the Spider Web embossed with the new Spider Web Embossing folder, also in the Holiday Mini!

This Candy Wrapper is cut from one of the beautiful Autumn Spice patterns of Specialty Designer Paper.  Don't you just love those warm fall colors and the Espresso 1/8" Taffeta Ribbon?!!
The tag is a stamp from the Got Treats set in the large catalog;  so cute!  It is punched out with the new Decorative Label punch too!
Wouldn't these make the cutest favors for a party, or change the tag for a name tag for Thanksgiving Dinner!  How fun!
Here's how the end folds up, so nice and neat too, because they are pre-scored!!
Here's the design of the fun and handy new die!  It is Bigz L Die Candy Wrapper #120890, $32.95.  You may purchase is from my online Stampin' Up! website here and just click on the Shop Now button in the upper right hand corner!

Day of Gratitude Gift

Here's one last (for the present) project using the beautiful Day of Gratitude set.  This time it's a gift "sleeve" to hold treats or a small gift.  I used candy in this one (chocolate, of course!!)
The "sleeve" is made from a piece of Cajun Craze textured card stock 8-1/2" x 3", scored at 2", 4", 6", and 8".  Punch the hole in one side of the cardstock using the Decorative Label punch.  The inner layer of Very Vanilla card stock is 1-7/8" x 2-7/8"; it is stamped with the acorn (which is colored with Stampin' Write Markers) and Thank You from the set, then the acorn is stamped again on Very Vanilla and cut out with Paper Snips, then adhered with a Dimensional.  Very easy!

Above is how this looked before filling with treats in a medium cellophane bag tied with Natural Hemp Twine.

Thanks for visiting today!  Hope it's a great day for you!

A Cute Christmas

Have you begun thinking about your Christmas cards for this year?  It's that time!  Here's a simple and quick Christmas card made with a new set in the 2010 Holiday Mini titled A Cute Christmas.  The images in this set are line-art which gives you the opportunity to use them as they are or to color them in to your heart's delight!
The card base is Marina Mist; a piece of Whisper White cardstock that has been embossed with the new Northern Flurry Embossing Folder from the 2010 Holiday Mini makes a great background for the little snowman.   The new Silver Tinsel was wrapped around the front of the card for fun and sparkle!

The snowman was stamped on Whisper White, his scarf and hat colored with markers and punched out with the 1 3/8" Circle Punch.  A sprinkle of White Chunky Essentials Glitter on a touch of the Two Way Glue Pen give additional bling.  It was then attached to a Scallop Circle punched from Marina Mist and attached with Dimensionals over the Silver Tinsel.

The sentiment is from the wonderfully versatile and basic set Sincere Salutations, set of eight greetings! (#115068, p. 155).

Thanks for visiting!  Have a good week and come again soon!

Another Day of Gratitude!

I'm really enjoying this set that we received at the Stampin' Up! Fort Worth Regional!  That big bold medallion is gorgeous!  I was reminded of this technique by my friend, the talented Mary Brown.  In fact, we did this card at our workshop on Tuesday, but I did change it up a little (like we stampers usually do! lol!)!  Thanks, Mary, for the inspiration!

The medallion was embossed with Clear Embossing Powder onto Confetti Cream cardstock.  I've always liked that cardstock for it has small flakes of color in it and has a softer finish.  Once the embossing is done, simply apply the desired colors with Sponge Daubers and ink from your inkpads then wipe the ink off the embossing with a soft tissue.  It's okay if the colors mix on the edges and also if you go outside the lines.  This is a more casual rather than formal look anyway!  The edges were distressed with the tool in the Cutter Kit and the corner torn.
This is a lovely sentiment; it is stamped in Cajun Craze onto Crumb Cake (formerly Kraft) cardstock then punched out with the gorgeous new XL Decorative Label Punch.  I used the Sponge Daubers again lightly on the edges of the label, added two small pearls from the Pearl Basics.

A length of Peach Parfait (In Color) Ribbon was added around the Cajun Craze layer then tied, and a piece of Victorian lace trim was added in for additional charm and texture.  The label was applied over the ribbon with Dimensionals and Snail Adhesive.

Here's a close-up of the beautiful detail in the medallion.  One of the small (like 3/16" big!) brads that looks like a button from the Vintage Trinkets assortment centers the medallion.
I think this medallion would be beautiful used on Christmas cards too, .. in say,  gold embossing perhaps?!  I think I'll try that soon!

I hope you enjoy!  If you would like to order this set or any other Stampin' Up! products and don't currently have a Stampin' Up! demonstrator, I would be thrilled to help you.  Just contact me by email or place your order directly through my Stampin' Up! website ;  just click on the Shop Now button!  See the Monday, Sept. 20 post for the details on this set.

I appreciate you dropping by!  Wishing you a good day in every way!

Day of Gratitude

My daughter Robin Clark and I at the Saturday Fort Worth Stampin' Up! Regional.  She lives a long way away; I was grateful to get to spend a little time with her Friday night and Saturday.   Speaking of gratitude... : )

Day of Gratitude is such a great set!  I love the images in it and the sentiment too!  Today I have another card done with it from the Fort Worth Regional.
This is a really interesting layout that showcases several of the stamps in the set as well as the sentiment; in face it uses five out of the seven stamps in the set!

The front of card was trimmed off to be shorter than the card back; the white layer extends beyond and is lifted on Dimensionals for interest.  Stampin' Write Markers were used to color all the stamps before they were stamped on the Whisper White.  The intricate medallion stamp was stamped on the Cajun Craze in the same color ink for an lovely background.

Notice the pierced edges on two of the white image pieces and the adorable Antique Brass Mini Library Clip on the front.

More Fort Worth Regional Pictures

I have more pictures of fabric projects from the Fort Worth Stampin' Up! Regional using Stampin' Up!'s newest product line, fabric!  We have two styles presented in the Holiday Mini catalog, the vintage look of the Deck the Halls assortment and the brighter and more contemporary Candy Cane Christmas!  Also found in the same Holiday Mini are coordinating stamps, buttons, ribbon and accessories such as iron on fabric adhesive, Big Shot Dies and lace (in the regular catalog), so you have everything you need to make cool projects with fabric!

Christie Daugherty WOW-ed us with her Workshop WOW presentation using fabric.  She used the Pennant Die to make Christmas tree on an apron, quilt square and also framed art!  She also made a backpack tag, coasters and other assorted cute projects with the fabric.
A quilt square using the Pennant Die, the Tasteful Trim Die, the Candy Candy Christmas fabric and coordinating buttons, by Christi Daugherty.
Framed fabric artwork by Christi Daugherty.  You can see more information about her fabric creations here.

Above is another card Shelli showed using fabric.
Here is another of our Make and Takes using the fab new Day of Gratitude set!  The background is Cajun Craze with a layer of Early Espresso cardstock then the Whisper White focal layer.  This is one stamp that have been stamped four times, lined up with the Stamp-a-ma-jig and centered with more Cajun Craze and one of the Pearl Basics.
The center circle is attached with a Dimentional for emphasis.  This was a quick card and would be great to have handy to jot a quick note of any kind.

Thanks for visiting again today!  Hope you are enjoying some glimpses of our great day at the Fort Worth Stampin' Up! Regional Seminar!

Stampin' Up! Regional in Fort Worth!

Last weekend I traveled to Fort Worth, Texas, to attend a Regional Stampin' Up! meeting for demonstrators and guests.  It was great!  Four of us left Friday morning on the Heartland Flyer, an Amtrak train.  We saw some pretty scenery and a roaring river where there had been so much rain!  In Fort Worth, we met our larger group that had traveled by car.  Later that evening my daughter Robin Clark and her upline Kimberly Stallcup arrived from San Antonio.

Skyline of Fort Worth as we arrived on the train! It was a beautiful day!  I love Fort Worth!  It is where I grew up!

We attended the Saturday Regional.  Shelli Gardner, the co-founder and CEO of Stampin' Up! was the seminar leader and gave the first presentation using Stampin' Up!'s lovely new fabric in different ways!  (The skirt she is wearing in the picture is actually made from our new Stampin' Up! fabric!!  And it can even be used for a tree skirt!  Yes!  Believe it!)  She made and showed some cards and a little pocketed card cover used to carry several cards and envelopes;  you can have them on hand anytime you want to write a card!

We saw some inspiring Workshop Wows; for the last presentation, demo Glenda Travelstead showed us how she does workshops.  She was both humorous and serious.  We laughed and we had tears well up in our eyes!  I think she connected with us all!  Great job!

We always look forward to the Make and Takes and the new free stamp set that comes with attending Regional!  This year it is the wonderful new Day of Gratitude set from the outstanding current Holiday Mini!!  Love it!

Here is one of the six Make and Takes we did.  This is a simple but lovely card!  I love this set!  The card is in Old Olive with the white layer for the sentiment, which uses the new Decorative Label Punch (also in the Holiday Mini!)
Also notice the dainty little self-adhesive Basic Pearls and the luxurious Old Olive Grosgrain Ribbon which finish off the card!

Thanks for coming by today to visit!  I'll be posting more of the Make and Takes and some other new projects, probably tomorrow!
