Shaker Card Week, Day 2: Warmest of Wishes CCMC174

Good morning! I'm still trying to get used to the time change here!  How about you?

Today's Shaker Card using those convenient Shaker Frames is done with the wonderful Spice Cake Designer Series Paper and the Warmest of Wishes stamp set (all from Stampin' Up's wonderful Holiday Mini Catalog)!  I love the unexpected use of the light blue-green Pool Party color with the golds and browns!  Such a great combo!  The sketch  is CCMC 174 from the Create with Connie and Mary Challenge.
For the shaker, I used the wreath stamp from the Holiday Mini Hostess set Warmest of Wishes.  ALL five of the stamps in this set have coordinating punches!! I am a sucker for that!!  lol!  I colored the stamp with Stampin' Write Markers, stamped it on Very Vanilla cardstock then colored in some of the outlined leaves.  Fun, fun to make it your own combo of colors!
I used the coordinating 1-1/4" Circle Punch to punch out the center and the 2-3/8" Scallop Circle Punch for the outside.  The underneath of the shaker is also a 2-3/8" Scallop Circle punched from Pool Party cardstock then stamped with a leaf from the Falling Leaves set (which I was happy to find because it mirrors the shape of the leaves on the frame just perfectly!).  I wanted the colors of the DSP in the frame so with my 1/4" Hole Punch punched Pool Party, More Mustard and Soft Suede then added some Champagne Mist Glass Glitter to the mix for some sparkle!  It's fun to come up with so many different fillers to customize the look of your card!!
Using the Bigz L Perfect Pennants die, I cut a More Mustard scallop to adhere under the shaker; there are two different-sized scallops on that die that are pierced and I use them a lot!!   The card base is Pool Party embellished with three strips of Designer Paper from the Spice Cake DSP package.  For the horizontal band, I cut a piece of Soft Suede and embossed it with the Stripes Embossing Folder. TIP:  I cut the "fishtail" end with a Square Punch to get even sides on it.  The final embellishment is a Bitty Button (retired) adhered to a matching punch-out using our Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack then tied with Linen Thread.

Hope you have enjoyed the second Shaker card this week!  I'd love to hear your comments.  Thanks!!
Happy Stampin'!!

Margaret
