Shaker Card Week, Day 3 "From Santa" Shaker

Wow, right in the middle of heavy rains, tornados and tornado warnings, flash flooding and hail, we had a 4.6 earthquake here in central Oklahoma!  Never dull here!!

Todays shaker card features the A la Carte stamp "From Santa" (#120859, $8.95).  Found in the "big catalog" and the minis also, these single image stamps are trendy, attractive, inexpensive and sometimes seasonal.  They are also quite popular!

The card base is Real Red, a layer of Wild Wasabie then a layer of Very Vanilla cardstock which has been dry embossed with the Big Shot and a swirly Texturz Plate from the Background 1 set of plates. Over this is a strip of Real Red cardstock which has been treated at the bottom with the Scallop Border Punch, then a strip of the Holly Berry Designer Series Paper tied with Real Red 1/8" Taffeta Ribbon.

I used the largest Shaker Frame in the package (you get six of each size [6 sizes] in the package) and it fit perfectly around the stamped image!  Stampin' Up!'s new Mica Flakes in the Holiday Mini are just perfect for Santa's filler and add a delightful iridescence!  I added a punched circle from a Window Sheet after adding the filler then topped the frame with a Real Red Scallop Punch-out.
This was actually the first card I made using the new Shaker Frames and I was happy to learn that it turned out to be simple to make a shaker!  I hope that if you have bought these Shaker Frames but haven't used them yet, you will do so soon!  The shakers are truly easy to make, they add an interactive feature to your card and you can be creative with the "filling"!

I'll be back tomorrow with another Christmas shaker card, this time using DSP for my image!  Hope to see you then!

Happy Stampin'!

Margaret
