Layered Labels: CCMC206 & TSSC225

Today's card features the new Layered Labels stamp set and Apothecary Accents, its coordinating Framelit set.  I just love all the coordinated products that Stampin' Up! offers us crafters, and these are no exception!  In fact, that's one of the first things I looked for when I first got to peek at the new catalog!
The card base is Island Indigo which is overlaid with Cherry Cobbler then Crumb Cake.  A vertical banner of Island Indigo print Designer Series Paper from the Summer Smooches DSP package was offset to the left then Cherry Cobbler rick-rack die cut with my Big Shot and Tasteful Trim Die added across the bottom.

The focal image was stamped on Whisper White with Cherry Cobbler ink using the "For You" stamp from the Layered Labels set then die cut with the coordinating label die from the Apothecary Accents Framelits set!  Wow, so quick and easy, love it!  I stamped it again using the Island Indigo ink on a scrap of white then punched out the center with the Large Oval Punch, again a perfect fit!  I love it when my tools make stamping easier and quicker!  I used my Cherry Cobbler Stampin' Write Marker to add color to the letters on the label.  Both of these layers were adhered with Stampin' Dimensionals to add height and emphasis.
On the card inside, I added a sheet of Whisper White cardstock and another row of rick-rack.  The sentiment was stamped with "Get well  soon" from the Delightful Dozen set and punched out again using the Large Oval Punch.  This brings the same designs and colors to the inside yet still leaves plenty of room for a handwritten message.

I used the Create with Connie and Mary CCMC206 Color Challenge of Cherry Cobbler, Island Indigo and Crumb Cake for my color scheme and Technostamper's TSSC225 Sketch Challenge for the layout of my card.

Tea Shoppe

You may have noticed the recent lack of my posting; we were gone for nine days on a wonderful trip for a milestone anniversary!  Unfortunately I returned home coming down with something and I'm still trying to get over it, so not getting any stamping done (or anything else either!).

However, I do have a card for you today that I made before I left.  I really like the lovely Tea Shoppe stamp set that appeared in the Occasions Mini Catalog, and to my delight it appears on Stampin' Up!'s Carryover List for May! so it is still available for purchase!

The card base is Whisper White with the front dry embossed with the Framed Tulips Embossing Folder and the Big Shot; this makes a lovely frame for the rest of the card elements.  The teacup was stamped with Riding Hood Red ink onto Whisper White then cut out with my sharp little Paper Snips. Those scissors are great for fine cutting and control!  On the handle is a knot of Island Indigo 3/8" Ruffled Ribbon.

Beneath the cup is a piece of Twitterpated Designer Series Paper, which is also on the carryover list this month!  The combination of Blushing Bride, Pear Pizazz (I'm going to miss these colors so much!), Island Indigo and Riding Hood Red is the basis for the card's color scheme.  The paper was  treated with the Scallop Edge Punch before adding to the card, and a narrow strip of the reverse print was adhered to it's top edge for contrast.  At the bottom is the "tea for two" image stamped in Island Indigo and punched out with the Wide Oval Punch.  Tiny Pearls were added to this piece and also several added to the flower centers on the cup itself.

I kept the inside simple with the greeting plus two posies stamped with the set, leaving plenty of room for a personal message.

This was a pretty simple card but the predominance of white with the embossing and red cup gave it panache!

Thanks for visiting today!  I appreciate your visit!  Remember this Tea Shoppe set and the Twitterpated Designer Paper is still available for purchase in May, along with a number of other items!

Happy Stampin'!

Blossom Builders Card

Perhaps you, like me, blew right past the "Designer Printed Kit", Blossom Builders, on page 18 when you first flipped through the 2012 Occasions Mini Catalog.  But this kit really deserves a second and third look!  These blossoms are "bloomin'" wonderful, not to mention quick and easy to create with!
I got the inspiration for this card from one made by my friend Jann McCollom.  I didn't have the measurements for her card so I came up with my own.  I cut my card stock at 4-1/4" x 11" and scored it from the left at 3-1/2" and 7-1/4".  I then made a mark 2" above the bottom on the left side and made a diagonal cut from there to the fold between the middle and back panels.  This gave me a "S" fold card with a slanted top edge.
I began the fun of choosing and combining blossoms from the two sheets of double-sided die-cut flowers printed on textured paper to decorate my card.  There are two duplicate sheets in the Blossom Builders Designer Printed Kit (#125410, $9.95), and each sheet has twenty-seven blossoms, eight colored circles for centers, and six flags or banners such as I used on my card above.  In addition, 60 pink Rhinestones are included, 30 each of two different sizes!  A great value!   Just adhere them to your card with your adhesive and/or Stampin' Dimensionals, and viola!  a lovely creation!!  I only used fifteen blossoms on this card, which is just a tiny bit over half a sheet!!
Above is the card unfolded.  You can tell where I cut the slant on the card.  The card itself is 3-3/4" wide by 4-1/4" tall so the flowers can extend past the card and the card will still fit into a standard A2 envelope.  The only actual stamping here is the "Happiness" (from the Loving Thoughts set, #125845) on the banner plus what greeting I will stamp inside before giving it away.

These blossoms are so quick, easy and fun to use!  and versatile too!!  They are great for cards, scrapbook pages, 3-D projects, eye-catching gift wrappings, framed art and even home decor like garlands and wreaths!  Whatever your imagination can come up with!!

The Blossom Builders Designer Printed Kit (#125410, $9.95) is in the 2012 Occasions Mini Catalog which expires on April 30; you must order quickly in order to get yours!  You may order any current Stampin' Up! products from  my secure online Stampin' Up! website HERE and they will be delivered directly from Stampin' Up! to your door via UPS.

Thanks for visiting today.  Hope you enjoyed the card!

Loved Ones Masculine Card

It seems that cards for the guys in our lives are usually in the shortest supply in our card stashes... I hear this a lot, don't you?  The Loved Ones set in the Occasions Mini (that ends on April 30!!) can be a great help in meeting this need.  Here is a Make 'n Take card for the guys we did at a recent workshop:
Crumb Cake (aka Kraft) usually a good choice for a masculine card, is the card base here.  I used the retiring  Grunge Rock stamp set (for the first time, arghhh!! but still love it!) and stamped these great and appropriate stamps in the same CC ink onto the card for a tone-on-tone look.  A delightful find for this card was this print from the Pocketful of Posies Designer Series Paper package (that sounds not-so-promising but ended up great for a masculine card, doesn't it, lol!)  I like the geometric pattern as well as the colors of Early Espresso, Soft Suede, Baja Breeze used, which all work well for our purpose.  Starting from the left is a panel of this print, then a swath of Early Espresso cardstock with a Baja Breeze Seam Binding Ribbon tie.

"For my" and "Dad" are two separate stamps in the Loved Ones (#125465 {w}, #125467 {c}) set; the ladies were also given the choice of using the "Brother" or the "Son" stamp in this useful set of 12.  (p.s. The Curly Label ExLg Punch {#119851} was the perfect size for the "Son" stamp).  These were stamped in Early Espresso onto Baja Breeze cardstock then punched out with the Decorative Label Extra Large Punch (#120907).  This piece was then sponged with the same Baja Breeze ink and adhered to the front with Stampin' Dimensionals.    My colors look a little off in the photo but in real life they look just right together (mea culpa on the photog skills...sorry).

Concord Crush and Cheerful Treat

Have you noticed the Cheerful Treat Designer Paper that is available in the current catalog as a Hostess selection?  I love the colors of Concord Crush, Melon Mambo, Bashful Blue, Positively Pink and Lucky Limeade in it!  Sadly, Concord Crush will be leaving us soon... I will miss it greatly!
The card features "flag" strips of the Cheerful Treat Designer Paper topped with a flower.
I layered a punched flower from another print layered over a Melon Mambo flower; both were punched out with the popular Blossom Punch in the current Occasions Mini Catalog.  The flower is centered with two smaller flowers punched with the useful BoHo Blossoms Punch and a pink Flower Brad.  I colored a rhinestone from Stampin' Up!'s Rhinestone pack with a purple Sharpie Marker and added it to the center of the flowers brad for some sparkle.
The Concord Crush background layer was dry embossed with the Big Shot and the Flourish Texture Plate.  This was layered onto a Bashful Blue card.  I made this card for a swap with my demo group last Saturday;  I love these colors and was happy with how it turned out.

Thanks for visiting!  I'm finishing this up before the storm gets here tonight.  We've already had tornadoes just south of Oklahoma City in Norman today and stronger storms are forecast for tomorrow!  Yikes!

Don't forget to check your supplies of Stampin' Up's 2010-2012 In Colors:  Pear Pizazz, Peach Parfait, Blushing Bride, Poppy Parade and Concord Crush, then order what you want as soon as possible.  After April 25, items in these colors will be available only as long as supplies last!  and then no more...

Happy Stampin' and stay safe!

Rue De Fleurs, Make & Take

I really like this Rue De Fleurs set from the Occasions Mini Catalog!  This clean and simple card featuring the corset stamp was a Make 'n Take for a recent workshop.

A fresh and spring-y color scheme of Pool Party, So Saffron, Whisper White with a touch of Early Espresso brings this card together.  The top half of the Pool Party layer was embossed with the Polka Dot Embossing Folder then overlaid with the large So Saffron scallop cut with the Big Shot and the versatile Tasteful Trim die.  This is such a useful die and one you really should consider having in your "arsenal" of creative tools!  An Espresso Taffeta Ribbon tie tops the scallop, and the "Thanks" greeting from the set is stamped in Early Espresso in the lower right corner.

The corset was stamped in Early Espresso Ink on Whisper White cardstock, color added with Stampin' Write Markers, then the piece was run through the Big Shot with the oval frame from the Designer Frames Embossing Folders set. A tiny Basic Pearl graces the top "button" of the corset; the corners were also rounded with the Corner Rounder Punch before the piece was attached with Stampin' Dimensionals.  Oh, and on the inside is stamped the accompanying stamp that says "for your support."  Cute and feminine!

There you go; a clean and simple card ready to be sent to someone!

Thanks for visiting today!  I'll be back tomorrow with another project!

Triple Treat & Twitterpated: CCMC194

LOL!  I couldn't resist the alliteration temptation!    The Triple  Treat Flower (#122909) is a single stamp that has been available this year in the A La Carte section of the annual Stampin' Up! Catalog, but as of recent has been featured as one of the bonus products available free for a $50. Sale-A-Bration order (#127725)!  It has been widely popular because the design in the flower is such that it can be punched out with two different punches and yield two totally different flowers!  Let's look:

The TT Flower stamp was stamped in Riding Hood Red ink onto the same color paper for a tone-on-tone look, and then also onto Whisper White cardstock.  The red on white flower was punched with the Five Petal Flower Punch and two RHRed flowers were punched with the Fancy Flower Punch.  All these were layered together with Dimensionals onto a slightly larger RHRed flower punched with the Blossom Punch.  A Baja Breeze Glimmer Brad (from the Subtles Collection) centers the flower for a lovely touch of shimmer.

You can see the subtle tone on tone on the red flower in the above picture, as well as the "hello" from the Tiny Tags stamp set that was punched out with the Jewelry Tag Punch and tucked under the Baja Breeze Seam Binding Ribbon bow.

The front panel is a print from the Twitterpated Designer Paper; the color scheme for the card was taken from the Baja Breeze, Whisper White and Riding Hood Red used in the print.  Baja Breeze cardstock was punched with the Scallop Trim Border Punch was added under the designer paper panel.  Both the Whisper White and the designer paper were run through the Big Shot with the Polka Dot Embossing Folder for texture.

Three pearls  over the top left of the flower complete the sketch layout which is from Create with Connie and Mary CCMC194.  Thanks for the great sketch layout, ladies!  You can follow the link to see how the other participants used this week's sketch!
Don't forget that Sale-A-Bration ends this Saturday!!  Be sure to order through your Stampin' Up!
