Flower Shop CCMC353

Today we have Sketch Challenge CCMC353 over at Create with Connie and Mary!  Since it's spring, I'm celebrating by featuring flowers on my challenge card!  We've had so much rain here lately that the wildflowers are beginning to bloom along the highways, always a welcome sight!

The card base is Strawberry Slush (Oh, how I will miss this color!) cardstock overlaid with three strips of narrow Old Olive ribbon.

Next up is a layer of Basic Black cardstock then a print from the Back to Black Designer Series Paper pack, which has been stamped with a stem from the Flower Patch set in Pistachio Pudding. (Isn't that black and white print somewhat reminiscent of a trellis?  I rather thought so...)

For the feature on the front, I used a grouping of flowers accented with Dazzling Details or Basic Pearls and tucked in a tiny sentiment punched out with the Word Window Punch.

Stamps:  Flower Shop, Petite Petals, Flower Patch, Teeny Tiny Wishes
Inks:  Strawberry Slush, Daffodil Delight, Pistachio Pudding, Memento Tuxedo Black Ink
Paper:  Back to Black DSP; Basic Black, Strawberry Slush, Whisper White
Accessories:  Old Olive 1/8" Taffeta Ribbon, Pansy Punch, Petite Petals Punch, Basic Pearls, Dazzling Details.

Isn't this a cool sketch from Create with Connie and Mary this week?  And sooo versatile too!

What would this sketch inspire you to create?  We would love to see!!... so make your creation and upload it online then link it to this sketch post on Create with Connie and Mary!  This sketch could be used for those Mom's Day or Dad's day cards you need also!

Be sure to check out the cards from the other Challenge Team members on Create with Connie and Mary too!  They always inspire me!!

Thanks for visiting!  Happy Stamping!

World of Dreams - CCMC352

It's time for a color challenge today from Create with Connie and Mary!  We have a lovely trio of colors for our design:  Soft Sky, Wild Wasabi and Basic Gray.

I chose the set World of Dreams with a sentiment from the Choose Happiness set for my card.  First I took a piece of watercolor paper and added Soft Sky and Wild Wasabi to it using an AquaPainter and ink refills.  After that was dry, I stamped the branch on it with Basic Gray (I had just reinked my BG pad so the ink is rather dark!)  I wrapped Jute Ribbon around the right side and added the sentiment, stamped on Soft Sky and punched out with the Label Bracket punch.

The watercolored paper was layered onto Basic Gray then on Wild Wasabi Designer Paper.  A Soft Sky card is the base behind it all.

Stamps:  World of Dreams, Choose Happiness
Inks:  Soft Sky, Wild Wasabi, Basic Gray
Paper:   Watercolor Paper, Wild Wasabi Designer Paper (Subtles Paper Stack), Basic Gray and Soft Sky cardstock
Accessories:  Basic Pearls, 1 - 1/4" Jute Ribbon, Label Bracket Punch, AquaPainter, Dimensionals

Here again is the color scheme for CCMC352 this week:

Thank You CCMC351

We have a fun and unique sketch today at Create with Connie and Mary!  I took the opportunity to use some of the pretty Flowerpot Designer Series Paper in honor of spring!!  Yes, my taxes are turned in, my hosta lillies are up and the grass is turning green!  Time for some flowers!

I used the large solid flower from the Flower Patch set for my focal image behind the sentiment, which is from the Let Your Hair Down Hostess set!  Such a fun set and I love the font used for it.  The flower and leaves were diecut with the coordinating Flower Fair framelits.

The white background actually has tiny green polka dots so I added more polka dots with the Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder.  The two patterned papers are primarily Garden Green and there is also a triangle of Daffodil Delight.

I carefully added a slender edging of Daffodil Delight to the sentiment banner for emphasis; I cut the ends of the banner with the Hexagon Punch.  Three small Basic Pearls in the center of the flower are the finishing touch!

Stamps:  Flower Patch and Let Your Hair Down (Hostess) sets
Inks:  Tangerine Tango, Garden Green, Night of Navy, Daffodil Delight
Paper:  Flowerpot DSP; Whisper White, Night of Navy, Daffodil Delight
Accessories:  Basic Pearls, Stamping Sponge, Flower Fair framelits, Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder, Big Shot.

CCMC 350 Hello There!

Today is a new color challenge from Create with Connie and Mary!  We are using tones of Calypso Coral, Crushed Curry and Night of Navy for this week's creations!

I used the Bokeh technique for my background.  To create this, you simply sponge areas of colors onto White cardstock then add circles of White Craft Ink.  Using several circle punches, I made a stencil from cardstock which I used for adding the white circles.  Move the stencil around to get as many circles as you wish; it is alright for the white spots to overlap each other some also.  Let dry (the craft ink takes longer to dry; a heat tool will help!)

Next I stamped the Daydream Medallion in Night of Navy onto the background.  I used a stamp from the hostess set Hello There to stamp the sentiment and embossed it with White Embossing Powder and the heat tool.  Two petite butterflies were added for the final touch.

Stamps:  Hello There, Daydream Medallions, Papillon Potpotpourri.
Inks:  Calypso Coral, Crushed Curry, Night of Navy ink pads; White Craft Ink pad.
Paper:  Whisper White, Night of Navy, Calypso Coral
Accessories:  Bitty Butterfly Punch, 1-3/4, 1-3/8", 1", 3/4", 1/2" Circle Punches, Stampin' Sponges, Heat Tool, White Embossing Powder.

Here is the Create with Connie and Mary Color Challenge this week:
