Mini Milk Carton from Occasions Mini Catalog

Hi there!  I've made another of these Mini Milk Cartons.  They are so easy and fun to make, and so cute.  They can be "dressed up" in so many ways and filled with treats, trinkets or tiny exciting gifts!  What fun!

Do you ever have trouble coming up with a project or design?  One way to get over the hurdle of not "feeling the mojo" is to have an inspiration book.  Do you have one?  Do you have a Stampin' Up! Idea Book & Catalog?  Well then, you DO have an inspiration book!  There are literally hundreds of full-color pictures of artisan projects in that book!  Just pick one and make it!  Now you may not have everything used in the sample but you can substitute something you do have:  different stamp set, colors of cardstock, embellishments... just use the picture as a "jumping off place" to kick start your creativity!  Oh, and if you want to see the list of stamping supplies used for any project in any of the Stampin' Up! catalogs, just click here and then bookmark this web page for future reference.

This milk carton was copied from page 23 of the Occasions Mini Catalog.  I duplicated almost everything about it except that I didn't have the element from the Eggcellent Eggs Kit so I just substituted some Designer Series Paper in the same celery color.  I wanted to show you how easy it is to use the catalog samples for inspiration when you're "mojo" has temporarily gone on vacation {lol!} and you want/need to make a handstamped item.  These are simple and easily duplicated whether you need one or two dozen!

Stamps:  Eggcoutrements
Ink:  Pretty in Pink, Bashful Blue
Paper:  Certainly Celery DSP; Pretty in Pink, Whisper White cardstock
Accessories:  Mini Library Clip, Bashful Blue grosgrain ribbon, 1" Circle Punch, Stampin' Up! Bigz L Mini Milk Carton Die #117310.

Thankfully our power has not gone out in this awful ice storm we've been experiencing here in Oklahoma City area.  It changed to snow and after two days is finally letting up this evening!  I hope wherever you are that you are able to be warm and safe!

Happy Stamping!

I {Heart} Hearts!

Ooh, I am just lovin' this new I {Heart} Hearts set from the Occasion Mini Catalog!  There are eight stamps in it with twelve heart images of various shapes and designs.    I used two of the stamps on my card today plus a greeting from the new Well Scripted set which is in a beautiful flowing font.
This card also features that gorgeous Melon Mambo color of cardstock, ink and Polka Dot Grosgrain Ribbon... yummo!!  The Whisper White background is deeply embossed with the Finial Press Embossing Folder and Big Shot.  The dotted heart outline stamp was stamped twice on Whisper White in Basic Black then the sentiment was stamped into the center of one and another filagree heart was stamped into the other.  The hearts were then cut out and layered onto more Melon Mambo.  A fine line of Dazzling Diamonds Glitter (which you can't see in the photo, sadly) is around the edge of each heart.  Tiny ties of 1/4" Black and White Gingham ribbon top off each heart for the final touch.

Inside the card I added a layer of white and stamped two more of the Melon Mambo hearts on opposite corners to carry the design through.

Your purchase of this stamp set will also provide a $2. donation to the Red Cross for the Haitian people.  See more information below.

Haitian Disaster Relief

On January 12, 2010 a magnitude 7.0 earthquake struck Haiti, leaving in its wake devastation so overwhelming that the Haitian people and their leaders can only look for help from the outside to cope.  You can help make a difference in the lives of those who continue to suffer from the effects of this earthquake by purchasing the I {Heart} Hearts stamp set.

From now until February 28, 2010, $2 from every I {Heart} Hearts stamp set you purchase will be donated to the American Red Cross’ Haiti Relief and Development Fund. The Red Cross is already well-established in Haiti, and this money will be used to provide immediate relief and long-term support through supplies, technical assistance and other support to help those in need.

In the past, when terrorists attacked the Twin Towers, when a tsunami struck Indonesia, when a hurricane destroyed New Orleans, and when wildfires ravaged Australia, Stampin′ Up! customers and demonstrators have stepped forward and showed their commitment to making a difference in the lives of others. This time is no different. Please do everything you can to lend a hand to the people of Haiti.  Thank you!

Thanks for dropping by for a visit today!

Valentine Mini Milk Carton

I've been working on the projects for my next Thursday's Valentine stamp event  Here is a sneak peek of one of the projects that we'll be doing.   It is die cut with one of the terrific new products in the Occasions Mini Catalog, the Stampin' Up! exclusive Mini Milk Carton die.  Isn't this little thing just too cute?!  And it hold a generous treat of M&Ms, sweetheart candy, jelly beans... you get the idea.  The die will also cut Window Sheets or Vellum to make these cartons; wouldn't that be a fun idea for party or shower favors, wedding or dinner guests, Valentine or Easter giving .. your imagination can come up with no end of possibilities for decorating these or using them!

For this box I used Pretty in Pink cardstock wheeled with the I {love} Love Jumbo Wheel for the box and the small flower print from the Sending Love Designer Series Paper for the band.  The sentiment is from Teeny Tiny Wishes (if you don't have that set, you need to order it during Sale-A-Bration; it's indispensible!!) stamped in Real Red onto Very Vanilla, layered onto Chocolate Chip and Pretty in Pink oval punch-outs to coordinate with the Sending Love Designer Paper.

The carton is also embellished with a Real Red flower punched with the Five Petal Flower Punch and embellished with a circle punch of DSP; this is then attached with Mini Glue Dots to the top of the carton.

The other box done also in pink and embellished with a red, pink and vanilla flower print (and glittery!) band was made by my friend Connie Stewart.  Isn't it just adorable?  Thanks for the inspiration, Connie!

These little cartons are easy and fun to make and delightful to give!  If you live in my area, you would be welcome to join us for this fun event!  Just email me at funstampin @ cox. net (remove the spaces)  and I'll get the info to you.

You can see the other projects done by the talented Blogger's Challenge ladies by checking the list here.  Enjoy!

Sale-A-Bration Order Arrives!

I got a big chuckle when I saw the larger box containing orders from my first Sale-A-Bratopm workshop that arrived the other day.  Stampin' Up! has added a fun notation to the UPS guy or hostess or demo!  This is the first time I've ever seen a message like this on an SU box (or any other for that matter).   Too funny!  (and true!)  : )

Then on the side is a nice large sign announcing that it's Sale-A-Bration time,  "{Friends, Fresh Ideas & Free Products!}"!  That's it in a nutshell!  Wow, there were a lot of fabulous goodies packed in that heavy heavy box!  They are now all sorted and sacked and on their way to their new owners!  Notice all those punches... there are a number of fabulous new ones in the Occasions Mine and one in the Sale-A-Bration brochure even!   With any $50. order, you can choose a bonus gift from Stampin' Up! of a stamp set, Designer paper, or for the first time, a fab brand new punch!

Just thought you might want to see the humorous note on the new SAB shipping boxes.  They're pretty funny!

Take care; thanks for dropping by.

Tomorrow I'll have my Blogger's Challenge project uploaded to my blog.  Hope to see you then!

Love Bandit #2

Here's a second card made with the fun little Love Bandit set from the Occasions Mini Catalog.  This little raccoon is so cute holding that heart!  :)

The background on this card is the beautiful Sending Love Designer Series Paper in red and it has just a small touch of glitter on it; so pretty!  The Sahara Sand strip behind the focal point was run through the Big Shot with the "Distressed"  Texturz Plate to give it just that, distressed texture! {smile}.  Paper piercing done with the Mat Pack and Paper Piercer decorate the upper corners of the focal layer while small hearts punched with the Heart to Heart punch are lined up across the bottom.

Stamps:  Love Bandit
Ink:  Basic Brown, Creamy Caramel, Real Red Stampin' Write marker
Paper:  Sending Love Designer Paper; Sahara Sand, Chocolate Chip, Real Red
Accessories:  Mat Pack, Paper Piercer, Small Heart Punch (Occasions Mini), Pinking Hearts Border Punch (Occasions Mini), Big Shot, Distressed Texturz Plate, Gold Brad, Heart to Heart Punch.

I am sorry that I had a little trouble with my photo; the natural light was poor this afternoon when I was shooting.  I hope you get the picture anyway.

Thanks for coming by today!  Happy stamping!

Valentine Love Bandit!

Need some quick and cute cards for Valentine giving?  Today's card is one that fits the bill.  It is bright and cheery as well as quick and cute!  I don't usually "do" cutesy but after having seen some cards made with the new Love Bandit set from the Occasions Mini Catalog, I thought it was something I could use not only for childrens' cards but also for other ages including "grown-ups" (do we ever really grow up? but I digress...).

I haven't used Creamy Caramel cardstock in quite a while but its a warm tan tone which looks so good with rich Real Red and it seems fitting for the image too.  Don't you just love this new I {love} Love Jumbo Wheel (Occasions Mini)  that is rolled across the bottom of the card in red?  The little raccoon was stamped in Basic Brown, colored with a Blender Pen, punched with the Scalloped Square punch then layered onto a square of Real Red.  Tie a length of Red and White Striped Grosgrain ribbon around the card and you're done!

There are lots of ways to kick this card up a notch or two or three, but this one is simple and quick, and gets the message to the recipient loud and clear... they are loved!  : )  Plus there are other stamps in the set that could be used more occasions besides Valentine cards.

Stamps:  Love Bandit, I {love} Love jumbo wheel
Inks:  Basic Brown, Real Red, Creamy Caramel
Paper:  Real Red, Whisper White, Creamy Caramel
Tools:  Jumbo wheel handle, Blender Pen, Scallop Square Punch, Red/White Striped Grosgrain

Thanks for coming by today.  Hope you have some fun stampin' this weekend!

Pink, Brown and White Challenge

Today's Blogger's Challenge #134 is to use Pink, Brown and White as the color scheme for one's project.  I love that combo anyway so it was fun to do.  For my card I used Stampin' Up! colors of Soft Suede, Melon Mambo and Whisper White with a touch of Old Olive.

I used the new Vintage Vogue set again plus the new coordinating Very Vintage wheel, both from the Occasions Mini Catalog.  The wheel was done in the same Soft Suede color as the cardstock so it was tone-on-tone, giving subtle texture to the design.

I used Stampin' Up!'s new clear-mount stamps which made placement a breeze to line up  the Old Olive garland stamp several times across the width of the white panel.  I'm loving those clear-mounts!  Another tool  I'm enjoying is the new Scallop Trim Border punch, which you see on the Melon Mambo layer horizontal across the card.  This punch is available as a FREE Sale-A-Bration product with a $50. purchase.  What a beautiful effect it gives!  Several stamped flowers cut out and applied to the design as well as a swath of Soft Suede Polka Dot Grosgrain ribbon with a small knot complete the design.design.

Stamps:  Vintage Vogue; Very Vintage Wheel
Ink:  Old Olive, Soft Suede, Melon Mambo
Paper;  Soft Suede, Melon Mambo, Very Vanilla
Accessories:  Paper Snips, Scallop Trim Border punch, Clear Mount Blocks, brad, Soft Suede Grosgrain Ribbon

Thanks for dropping by today!  Have a great weekend; hope you have time to stamp!

Vintage Vogue

Do you like the vintage or the shabby chic look like I do?  The Vintage Vogue set and coordinating Very Vintage wheel were two of the first things that caught my eye in the new Occasions Mini catalog!  You may see it often because I do really like them!

This card is one of my first with this set.  I was inspired by a similar color combination of Crushed Curry, Melon Mambo, Bermuda Bay (all this year's In Colors) on a scrapbook page, then I added the Old Olive to the mix to complement the other colors.

I love the distressed look on the images and the swirls on the large letter.  I stamped the large F onto the Very Vanilla cardstock then stamped it again on a scrap, cut it out and layered it over the first one with Stampin' Dimensionals for more emphasis. The cut-out flower centered with a pink Rhinestone Brad accents it nicely.

Another new product used here is the Scallop Trim Border Punch which will be in the 2010-2011 catalog, probably for $15.95 I'm guessing, which is the price for comparable punches.  However, it is currently only  available FREE as a Sale-A-Bration bonus with a product purchase of only $50.!  Wow!  The ladies at the workshop Monday night really liked it; these punches are flying out the door!  Hope you get yours before Sale-A-Bration ends!

Stamps:  Vintage Vogue
Inks:  Crushed Curry, Bermuda Bay, Melon Mambo, Old Olive
Paper:  Crushed Curry, Old Olive, Very Vanilla
Accessories:  Clear mount Acrylic Blocks, Fire Round Rhinestones, Melon Mambo Polka Dot Grosgrain Ribbon, Scallop Trim Border Punch, Paper Snips for fine cutting, Snail Adhesive.

This card is also for this week's Blogger's Challenge BC133.  Nothing like squeaking in the last day but this is a great sketch and I really wanted to use it!   Thanks, Lisa, for the useful sketch!  Come back tomorrow for the next Blogger's Challenge posting!  This one will be on time!  lol!  (It's already made!)  :)
Thanks for dropping by today!  Come back tomorrow for the next Blogger's Challenge!

Another With All My Heart!

Here's another card I made last weekend with my new With All My Heart set.  This time I used the stylized flower and the "thank you" sentiment from the set.  The color scheme of Pretty in Pink, Chocolate Chip with touches of Very Vanilla and Real Red come from the chocolate-background tiny flowers paper.  This is the Sending Love Designer Series Paper, new in the Occasions Mini; one side of each sheet in the package has some glitter to it...so pretty!

The new Scallop Trim Border Punch gives a softer line to the border of pink over the chocolate paper.  Over the pink is a layer of medium Window Sheet stamped with flowers in White Staz-On Ink; each is centered with a Real Red Brad, imitating the tiny flowers in the paper which are centered in red.

The sentiment was inked with Stampin' Write Markers then stamped on Very Vanilla cardstock cut with a Sizzlit die from the Lots of Tags Sizzlit set.

Stamps;  With All My Heart
Inks:  White Staz-On; Chocolate Chip, Pretty in Pink and Real Red Stampin' Write markers
Paper:  Sending Love Designer Series Paper; Chocolate Chip, Very Vanilla, Pretty in Pink
Accessories:  Lots of Tags Sizzlit set; Chocolate Chip 1/4" grosgrain ribbon, Bold Brights Brads (Real Red), Scallop Trim Border Punch, medium weight Window Sheets

I hope you have received a new Occasions Mini catalog!  There are some really wonderful new products in it that you will really want to see!

Sending Love, With All My Heart!

I used the With All My Heart set again for this card today and I'm having fun with it!  The bright paper is from the Sending Love Designer Series Paper package in the new Occasions Mini Catalog!  I love the combination of Real Red, Pretty in Pink, Chocolate Chip and Very Vanilla... so festive and it works so well for Valentines Day too!

I used the red paper with the pink and vanilla flower print for the background; the paper is made with glitter already on it so it has a soft sparkle to it!  I used a band of a different print, tiny flowers from the same Sending Love package, across the card and layered it on a strip of Chocolate Chip that had both sides embellished with a zig-zag edge and tiny hearts done with the Pinking Hearts Border punch from the Occasions Mini.

The large flower image in the set is stamped in Real Red Craft Ink on a Very Vanilla circle cut out with the Sizzix Circles die and the Big Shot.  The Real Red Circle behind it is cut out with the same die and sponged with chocolate ink on the edge.  The flower was heat embossed with Clear Embossing Powder.  One of the cool new Real Red Epoxy polka dot 1/2" brads (love those!) centers the flower.

The sentiment is also from this set (along with two others) so you can make any number of styles/types of cards with this one set alone!  It was stamped with Chocolate Chip and the heart was stamped with the Real Red Craft Ink and heat embossed .

Note:  I purchased this set in the NEW clear mount option with the acrylic blocks.  For the main image, I cut out my cardstock circle first then stamped on it without a Stamp-a-ma-jig!  It worked great!  This was my first time to use Stampin' Up!'s clear mount stamps and I was very pleased with them!

Stamps:  With All My Heart
Inks:  Real Red Craft; Chocolate Chip Classic
Paper:  Sending Love DSP, Pretty in Pink, Very Vanilla, Chocolate Chip
Accessories:  (new) Pinking Hearts Border punch, Chocolate Chip 1/4" grosgrain ribbon, Big Shot, Circles#2 Die, (new) Real Red Epoxy brad, heat tool, clear embossing powder, paper snips, sponge dauber.

Thanks for visiting today!  Keep on stampin'!

I'm back, With All My Heart!

I'm back from my two week Christmas hiatus with a new card made with some brand-new products from the fabulous Occasion Mini Catalog which just became active!. There is so much in this new mini... new stamps, punches, papers, stamp mounting system, Big Shot dies, and many other entirely new products!   You've just gotta' see it if you haven't yet!

We're approaching Valentine's Day so I made a Valentine card for a friend using a number of gorgeous new products from the new Occasions Mini.

Stamps:  With All My Heart
Inks:  Chocolate Chip
Paper:  Sending Love Designer Series Paper; Pretty in Pink, Chocolate Chip cardstock
Accessories:  Lots of Tags Sizzlits, Modern Label Punch, Floral Fusion Sizzlit, Scalloped Heart of Heart Embosslit, Big Shot, Silver Brads, Scallop Trim Border (Sale-A-Bration bonus!), Full Heart Punch, Trio Flower Punch, Chocolate Chip Epoxy Flower Brad.

The Scalloped Heart of Hearts Sizzlit both embosses and cuts out the heart; I love the texture you get when using this!  And what to say about the new Scallop Trim Punch edge?  Well, it's just so delicious!!  And the Designer Paper has glitter on it!  Each of the twelve sheets in the package has glitter on one of the sides, and it's soooo pretty!
