Three Trees! CCMC 326

Oh, we have such a pretty Color Challenge today at Create with Connie and Mary!  The trio of Lost Lagoon, Mossy Meadow and Silver is such a beautiful combination!  I also used touches of white for my neutral.

I inked the tinsel stamp with silver ink then stamped on Mossy Meadow;  with a different tree inked with silver I stamped twice on Lost Lagoon (both stamps are from the Festival of Trees set).  These were then punched them out with the Tree Punch.  I cut the silver dotted paper with an Oval Framelit and adhered it to the Mossy Meadow card base, then placed torn Brushed Silver cardstock over the lower portion.

Next a layer of Lost Lagoon was diecut with the fifth largest (counting up from the smallest one) Oval Framelit, embossed with the Filigree Frame TIEF and  adhered with Dimensionals over the dotted white DSP layer, framing the background.  The sentiment from this set was stamped onto Whisper White, layered over a bit of Mossy Meadow Ribbon then adhered with Dimensionals.

Lastly I added several silver and snowflake sequins from the Frosted Sequins pack to complete the card..

Stamps:  Festival of Trees
Ink:  Encore Silver, Mossy Meadow
Paper:  Lost Lagoon, Mossy Meadow, Whisper White cardstock.  All is Calm DSP
Accessories:  Tree Punch, Frosted Sequins Embellishments pack, Glue Dots, Filigree Frames Embossing Folder, Oval Framelits, Mossy Meadow Stitched Satin Ribbon, Big Shot.

Here again is the Color Challenge 326 for Create with Connie and Mary for this coming week!

Isn't this a beautiful color combo?  And if you  have the All is Calm DSP, you already have a head start on joining the challenge this week too, since these colors are in it!  So take a little time to come up with your own creation following the guidelines over at Create with Connie and Mary and join the fun!

While you're there, be sure to see what the other Designers Team members have created for this challenge too... they ARE creative!!

Thanks for visiting this week!  Come back soon for more stamping fun and hopefully, inspiration!

Happy Stamping!

Christmas Cheer CCMC320

It's Thursday and that means another fun challenge from Create with Connie and Mary!   Today it's a color challenge using Lost Lagoon, Pear Pizazz and Smoky Slate!

I think because these colors are in the new "All is Calm" Christmas DSP that made me think of a Christmas card; however I didn't use any of that DSP here.  I was, however, excited to use for the first time some of the new products from the Holiday Catalog!  Wow, don't you just love this new Filagree Frame embossing folder?!  And it's not just for Christmas but anytime!

I used a Square Framelit to cut out the center of the Lost Lagoon layer and reveal the  Pear Pizzazz cardstock embossed with the Christmas Cheer stamp and  White Embossing Powder.  Snowflake Sequins from the Frosted Sequins Embellishment package are topped with small rhinestones for bling to finish off the design.  The card base is Smoky Slate.

Here are the colors we are using this week; aren't they gorgeous together?!

Check out the creations of the marvelous Design Team on Create with Connie and Mary's website to be inspired, then make your card according to the guidelines and then share it with us!!  We can't wait to see what you make using these colors!

Also remember to go back to Create with Connie and Mary's website on Saturday for a Blog Hop using products from the new catalog; this past Saturday every designer used the new Take Out boxes from the Holiday Catalog and came up with some really creative 3-D boxes!  Cool!  They are celebrating the on-going Holiday Card "Creat-ions".. you'll want to find out more about that!

Thanks for joining me today!  Have a stampin-good weekend!

Beautiful Bunch and Chevrons

I'm loving this new Beautiful Bunch set and the coordinating Fun Flower punch!  To have a punch that can cut out my flower in seconds is such a time-saver (plus it looks better than my hand-cutting, lol!).

Today I did the Embossing Folder Stamping technique (see here) on watercolor paper using Real Red, Coastal Cabana and Night of Navy.  This made a pretty bold background so I kept the card simple.  The flower was stamped in Night of Navy onto Real Red cardstock; a second flower was stamped on Coastal Cabana cardstock and the center punched out with the 7/8" Scallop Circle Punch (again, gotta love those punches!).  I shaped the petals with a bone folder then assembled the flower with Dimensionals and centered with a Large Rhinestone (retired).  Loops of Coastal Cabana Baker's Twine were adhered to the card with Mono Multi Glue then the flower was adhered  with more glue.

Three Rhinestones were colored with the Cherry Cobbler Blendabilities (love that we can do that now!) and added to the top right side.  A length of 1/4" Night of Navy ribbon (recently retired) was attached around the top two layers and over the top of the greeting.

Stamps:  Beautiful Bunch, Remembering Your Birthday
Inks:  Real Red, Night of Navy; Cherry Cobbler Blendabilities Marker
Paper:  watercolor paper; Real Red, Night of Navy, Whisper White
Accessories:  Chevron Embossing Folder, Fun Flower Punch, 7/8" Scallop Circle Punch, Corner Rounder Punch, Coastal Cabana Baker's Twine, Mono Multi Liquid Glue Basic Rhinestones, Lg. Rhinestone (retired), Navy 1/4" Stitched Ribbon (retired)

That's it for today!  Always love to hear from you!  Happy Stamping!

Blended Bloom in Daffodil!

This is a new single stamp in the catalog titled Blended Bloom.  It works so well to showcase the new Blendabilities Markers!  I used the Daffodil Delight set of three markers to color the bloom and added touches of orange with the Pumpkin Pie Blendabilities.

The background was made with the Embossing Folder Stamping technique which I also used for a previous card.  You can also find the directions there.  For this background I used the Modern Mosaic embossing folder with the colors listed.  I love how the result this time is very abstract! (each background will be unique with this technique!)

The sentiment is from Just Sayin' stamped onto vellum cardstock with the Memento Tuxedo Black ink pad then cut out with the coordinating Word Bubble Framelit.  I love how you can still see the colors through the vellum.

Stamps:  Blended Bloom, Just Sayin' ses
Inks:  Daffodil Delight and Pumpkin Pie Blendabilities;  Daffodil Delight, Crisp Cantaloupe and Wild Wasabi inks.  Memento Tuxedo Black pad.
Paper:  Watercolor paper, Daffodil Delight, Wild Wasabi and Whisper White cardstocks, Vellum Cardstock
Accessories:  Word Bubbles Framelits, Crisp Cantaloupe Baker's Twine, Rhinestone, Modern Mosaic Embossing Folder, Sponge Daubers, Stampin' Spritzer.

Thanks for visiting!  Hope you are inspired to stamp today!

Colorful Mixed Bunch CCMC306

Today we have a gorgeous color challenge from Create with Connie and Mary!  CCMC306 combines the colors of Perfect Plum, Coastal Cabana and Wild Wasabi... I love these colors separately but even more together!!  Here's what I did with them:

I used the embossing folder stamping technique for the background; these colors were just perfect for it!  (Sponging inks onto the inside front of your embossing folder, spritzing with water then laying a piece of watercolor paper down over the ink, pressing gently and randomly.  Carefully remove paper  and allow to dry).  Your background is not actually embossed but you get the design of the folder.  Love the look this gives!

The flower stamp is from the Mixed Bunch set, stamped in Perfect Plum onto Perfect Plum cardstock.  I stamped a second flower center on Shimmer White, punched it to layer on the flower center then applied dots of Dazzling Diamonds onto the white dots.  I stamped a portion of this flower again on a Wild Wasabi scrap and tucked it underneath the flower for leaves.  The banner is also Shimmer White cardstock stamped with the sentiment then wrapped with that yummy Coastal Cabana Baker's Twine.  This looks so perfect for spring and summer greetings!

Stamps:  Mixed Bunch, Papillion Potpourri, Gifts of Kindness (sentiment)
Inks:  Perfect Plum, Coastal Cabana, Wild Wasabi
Papers:  Watercolor Paper; Wild Wasabi, Perfect Plum and Shimmer White cardstocks.
Accessories:  Hexagon TIEF, Coastal Cabana Baker's Twine, Blossom Punch, 7/8" Scallop Punch, Sponge Daubers, Dazzling Details, Stampin' Spritzer, Bitty Butterfly Punch, Glue Dots, Dimensionals.

Here again is the color challenge from Create with Connie and Mary:

Be sure to check out the cards from the other Challenge Team members this week at Create with Connie and Mary!  gorgeous!  And while you're there, see the guidelines for participating in the challenge... it's fun plus a great creative activity!!  We would love to see what YOU do with this color combo!

I appreciate your visit today and your comments are always welcome!  Thank you!!

Peaceful Petals Art CCMC303

Hi there!  Today we have a wonderful sketch from Create with Connie and Mary for our challenge 303; it's very simple and it offers SO many possibilities!  I chose to use my lovely Peaceful Petals set from the Occasions catalog; sadly this set is not in the new Annual Catalog which will be available soon.  I also used the new Work of Art set which is in the new catalog!

I chose a color scheme of Rich Razzleberry, Calypso Coral and Coastal Cabana with Whisper White.  On the top layer of white cardstock I first stamped the chevron stamp from Work of Art: I inked it with Stampin' Write Markers (water-based) and spritzed it from a distance to get just a small amount of moisture on it then stamped it.  Next, without reinking, I spritzed the chevron stamp again and stamped again, giving a very soft image.  The small scattered dots were stamped using a stamp from the Gorgeous Grunge set with Coastal Cabana ink.

In the top picture you can better see the random chevron texture which was achieved using our Chevron Embossing Folder; instead of running it through the Big Shot, I very carefully used a rubber mallet in random places on the card front.  I think this is a very cool technique; what do you think?

The largest flower stamp in the set was stamped with Memento Black ink onto Whisper White then colored with the Rich Razzleberry Blendabilities Marker set of three and the center with Daffodil Delight Blendabilities Markers.  The flower stem is handcut Whisper White colored with Coastal Cabana Markers; the leaves were stamped then colored with the Coastal Cabana Blendabilities and cut out.    The Rhinestones were colored with the Blendabilities Markers, which we can now do because the Blendabilities are alcohol-based!!  (YAY!! BIG SMILE on my face!!)

Stamps:  Peaceful Petals, Work of Art*, Gorgeous Grunge
Inks:  Memento Tuxedo Black*, Rich Razzleberry, Coastal Cabana and Calypso Coral Stampin' Write Markers (water-based).  Rich Razzleberry, Daffodil Delight and Coastal Cabana Blendabilities Markers*
Paper:  Whisper White and Calypso Coral
Accessories:  Paper Snips, Spritzer, Rhinestones, Chevron Embossing Folder, rubber mallet,

*new in upcoming 2014-15 Annual Stampin' Up! Catalog

Hexagons for Father CCMC300

Welcome to our Thursday Challenge at Create with Connie and Mary!   We are doing things a little differently this week; we're having a Design Team Blog Hop!! How fun!

Our Challenge this week is color:  use Calypso Coral, Crumb Cake and Basic Gray for our project!

I thought these colors would work well for a Father's Day card so I set to work.   I embossed both the Crumb Cake and Basic Gray layers with the Alphabet Press embossing folder.  Two strips of the Calypso Coral Chevron Ribbon were wrapped around the Crumb Cake layer before it was adhered to the Basic Gray card base.

I used the Six-Sided Sampler set to stamp three hexagons for the front Basic Gray layer;  this layer  was then adhered to the Crumb Cake with Dimensionals.  The embellishments use are two Pearls that were colored metallic silver with a Sharpie marker and a Basic Metal Button tied with Linen Thread.

The greeting was stamped with Happy Father's Day from the Delightful Dozen set; the ends of the cardstock were trimmed with the Hexagon Punch before attaching with Dimensionals.  Two Calypso Coral Candy Dots embellish it.

Stamps:  Delightful Dozen, Six Sided Sampler
Inks:  Calypso Coral, Crumb Cake, Basic Gray
Paper:  Whisper White, Basic Gray, Crumb Cake
Accessories:  Basic Metal Buttons, Basic Pearls, Subtles Candy Dots, Linen Thread, Calypso Coral Chevron Ribbon, Hexagon Punch, Alphabet Press Embossing Folder, Big Shot, Dimensionals, Glue Dots.

Here is the Color Challenge from Create with Connie and Mary this week:

You're Amazing! CCMC298

Ah, we have a lovely combination of colors this week for the Create with Connie and Mary Challenge this week:  Daffodil Delight, Tangerine Tango and Gumball Green!  All fresh, bright, cheerful.. all good!

The focal stamp on my card is from the "You're Amazing" set, which I really like but have under-used;  I thought it would work well for this card.  I inked the stamp border with the Gumball Green Marker and the words with Tangerine Tango then die-cut it with the largest Framelit in the Apothecary Accents set.  I pierced around the edge, then inked and stamped the "amazing" again, filling in the open spaces in the letters with the Daffodil Delight Marker.  Then it was cut out, ends rounded with a circle punch and adhered it with Dimensionals.

I die-cut just the ends of the Framelit again using Tangerine Tango and adhered that underneath the white to emphasize the shape.  A 5.25" x 4" layer of Whisper White cardstock was dry embossed with the Scallops Embossing Folder and adhered with Dimensionals to the front of a 5.5" x 4.25" card.

The larger flowers were stamped with Daffodil Delight on Whisper White then punched out with the coordinating Petals Punch.  The smaller flowers are punched with the Itty Bitty Punch Pack.. love it!  It's one of my go-to tools!  The leaves are punched from Gumball Green.  (I'm going to miss this color when it retires in May!!)  The flowers and leaves were adhered with Glue Dots.

Stamps:  You're Amazing, Petite Petals
Inks:  Gumball Green, Daffodil Delight and Tangerine Tango Markers; Daffodil Delight pad
Paper:  Whisper White, Tangerine Tango, Daffodil Delight cardstocks
Accessories:  Apothecary Accents Framelits, 1 3/8" Circle Punch, Petite Petals Punch, Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack, Paper Piercing Pack Essentials, Piercing Tool, Stampin' Pierce Mat, Scallop TIEF, Dimensionals, Glue Dots, Blender Pen, Snail Adhesive, Basic Pearls (colored with Sharpie Marker)

Isn't this a fun color combination?  We (the Create with Connie and Mary Challenge Team) would love to see what you would do with this color combo, so how about jumping in and trying this one this week?!  Just post it online then link it up at Create with Connie and Mary website.  (Stampin' Up! supplies only)

Thanks for joining me today!  I appreciate you visiting and welcome your comments too!

Take care and stamp when you can!

Yippee Skippee! CCMC291

After missing out on the Create with Connie and Mary Challenge last week due to illness, it feels good to be back (and feeling better!).  This week is a cool challenge featuring a sketch which easily lends itself to a multitude of interpretations!

I chose to turn the sketch on it's side then flip the focal image to the top rather than the bottom... clear as mud?  lol!  I used this pattern from the beautiful Sweet Sorbet DSP (a Sale-a-Bration bonus product) and accented it with a strip of Summer Starfruit cardstock embossed with the new Arrows embossing folder which echoes a similar design.

"You can never have too much happy" is from the expressive sentiment stamp set Yippee Skippee; it was stamped with VersaMark then heat embossed with Silver Embossing Powder.  I layered this Crisp Cantaloupe Starburst die-cut over a Whisper White Starburst die-cut of the exact same size and rotated it just a tiny bit so only the white points could be seen.  Next I die-cut a third same-size Starburst from Calypso Coral, cut it in equal fourths and attached them to the back, extending them from the edge a bit to accent the sentiment.  A Silver Button tied with Summer Starfruit Baker's Twine accents the bottom.  Basic Pearls colored with a silver Sharpie marker are the final accent.

Stamps:  Yippee Skippee set
Ink:  Versamark
Paper:  Sweet Sorbet DSP (SAB); Pool Party, Summer Starfruit, Crisp Cantaloupe, Whisper White, Calypso Coral
Accessories:  Silver Button from Basic Metal Buttons assortment, Basic Pearls, Summer Starfruit Baker's Twine (SAB), Silver Embossing Powder
Tools:  Big Shot, Arrows Embossing Folder, Starburst Framelits, Heat Tool.

Here is the sketch for this week, simple yet offering lots of possibilities:

Fine Feathers Celebration CCMC283

I hope you had a wonderful Christmas Day yesterday and are ready for a new challenge today!  Thursday IS the day for the Create with Connie and Mary Challenge and this week it's a great sketch!

I have some new products from the Occasions Catalog which goes live on January 3rd!  A book full  of new products and accessories means lots of creative fun ahead!  For my card background I used the new Kaleidoscope Designer Series Paper which features some cool graphic prints as well as some polka dots that I love!  Layered over that is a square of Whisper White which has been dry embossed with the new Arrows embossing folder... isn't it great with that DSP?

This is my first time to use my Fine Feathers set!  I ordered it earlier but laid it aside to work on holiday projects; I was happy to see that it works so well with these designs and colors.

For the focal point I chose a stamp from the new Starburst Sayings set, diecut with the coordinating Starburst Framelits Dies, both also from the Occasions Catalog.  The starburst was heat embossed with Silver Embossing Powder before being diecut, then centered with a Bermuda Bay Candy Dot.

Stamps:  Fine Feathers, Starburst Sayings (medallion), Perfectly Penned
Ink:  VersaMark, Bermuda Bay, Crushed Curry, Basic Grey
Paper:  Kaleidoscope Designer Paper; Crushed Curry, Basic Black, Whisper White, Smoky Slate
Accessories:  Candy Dot, Silver Embossing Powder, Arrow TIEF, Big Shot, Stampin' Sponge, Paper Snips

Here is the sketch from Create with Connie and Mary this week:

It's a square sketch but can also be adapted easily to a standard 4.25" x 5.5" card.  I made my card 5.25" square and now with the SU Envelope Punch Board, I can make a custom envelope to fit!  Oh happy day!  : )

Be sure to check out the other fabulous cards from the CWCM Challenge Team at Create with Connie and Mary Blog!  We'd love for you to join the challenge and upload a card to their site!!  Guidelines are on today's post!

Thanks for visiting today!  I hope you enjoyed my card and will join the challenge also!

Hugs,
Margaret
