Sweet Scoops, Melon and Razzleberry!

Yes, another Sweet Scoops card!  It's such a fun set and certainly the timing is perfect (although there's probably few people who don't eat ice cream year-round!)

Today's sweet celebration card uses Melon Mambo for the background layer which has been dry embossed with the Big Shot and the Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder.  The card base itself is So Saffron cardstock.  Over the Melon Mambo background is a piece of Rich Razzleberry cardstock layered with Razzleberry Lemonade Designer Series Paper.  A piece of 5/8" So Saffron grosgrain ribbon ties it all together.

The focal point of the card is a scoop of Melon Mambo (perhaps this is sherbet today?) on a So Saffron cone.  A Rich Razzleberry cherry rests at it's base.  This is layered onto a piece of Rich Razzleberry which has had the bottom scalloped with the Scallop Edge Punch, then highlighted with the White Signo Gel Pen.

Get your sets from the Summer Mini today so you'll have time to get lots of use from them this summer!!  The 2010 Summer Mini Catalog ends August 31.

Sweet Scoops in Chocolate!

Here's another sample with the Sweet Scoops set.  This time it is chocolate ice cream...mmm!  I was inspired by a card made by Dawn Olchefsky and mine is very similar.  However, I used a new "Sneak Peek" product from the upcoming 2010-2011 Catalog!   Hint:  The ice cream is stamped on a circle cut with the 1 3/8" Circle Punch.  What's it layered on, you ask?  Well, our NEW 2 3/8" Scallop Circle Punch!!  As demonstrators, we are privileged to get to purchase a few "Sneak Peek" items early, and as soon as I saw this, it was on my "Must Have" List!!

The card base is Chocolate Chip.  Close to Cocoa (retiring) cardstock is stamped on top with the "sprinkles" from the set on the upper portion and the sentiment on the lower portion then layered over the chocolate.  The cone was stamped in So Saffron ink and a little Close to Cocoa ink sponged on one side; the scoop was stamped in Close to Cocoa and Chocolate Chip sprinkles stamped on that.  Dazzling Diamonds Glitter adds a great touch to the ice cream!

A swath of 1 1/4" Chocolate Chip Stitched Grosgrain ribbon (retiring) wraps around the cocoa layer and a length of Apricot Grosgrain ribbon (which blends nicely with the Saffron) overlays it and is anchored on each end with a White Jumbo Brad.

Thanks for dropping by today!  Hope you'll come back soon!

Sweet Scoops of Ice Cream!

Perfect timing for an ice cream set!  It's hot here and summer has begun in earnest!  With the high temperature in the 90's every day, it's time for a little of that yummy cold stuff, ice cream!  A new Braum's Ice Cream Store just opened recently near our house; how convenient!!  lol!

Sweet Scoops!  What a cute new set from Stampin' Up! in the Summer Mini Catalog!  Scoops, twists, waffle and sugar cones, sprinkles, cherries and even a texture stamp are included in this cool (pun intended!) set!

In honor of some of our retiring colors, I used one of my favorites, Cameo Coral, for the card base.  I stamped the right side with the sprinkles in the same color.  The sentiment is stamped in Rose Red on the lower left.

A panel of the retiring Pink Flamingo Designer Paper is framed with Tempting Turquoise and tied with a Crushed Curry Polka Dot Grosgrain Ribbon (retiring!). The ice cream and cone were stamped on white with Cameo Coral and Creamy Caramel (retiring) inks and also framed with turquoise.  I stamped another scoop, sprayed it with Vanilla Smooch Spray and cut it out then layered it over the first one with a Dimensional.

What a fun and bright card for a birthday or other celebration, but the words could easily be changed to make a different type of card just to brighten someone's day!

Thanks for visiting!  Come back tomorrow for more Sweet Scoops!!

Father's Day Card BC155

Today's Blogger's Challenge is for a Father's Day card.  I used one of my favorite Dad sayings from the very useful All Holidays Stamp Set.  The well-loved but retiring colors of Handsome Hunter, Ruby Red and Creamy Caramel are my color scheme, highlighted by Silver.  A rectangle of aluminum-foil wrapped cardstock was run through the Big Shot with the Harlequin Texturz Plate to give it that great pattern.

The card base is Ruby Red with a layer of Handsome Hunter that has been texturized with the Big Shot and the Distressed Texturz Plate; the corners were treated with the Ticket Corner Punch which is also retiring.  Silver Mini Brads are the final touch!

Pansy Fancy Favor Box

I'm having fun creating things to use these beautiful pansies on that are made with the Butterfly Punch, Shimmery White cardstock and Ink Refills!  Today's project is a Fancy Favor Diecut Basket using the retiring but lovely Tea Party Designer Series Paper.  These are so easy to make with the Big Shot and Die, it's incredible.  You could fairly quickly make enough favors for a party, luncheon, gifts or whatever your need, and wow your recipients too!

I cut an additional one inch strip of the same paper and turned it on the reverse side when I cut my paper and die through the Big Shot.  I attached it to the top edge for accent color.  The leaf stems were easily diecut with the Little Leaves Sizzlet and Old Olive cardstock.  (This is probably my most-used Sizzlet.  You NEED this! lol!)  The pansies were added with Dimensionals.

The "for you" greeting is from the Great Friend stamp set.  It was stamped in Elegant Eggplant onto Very Vanilla cardstock, cut into a banner and sponged with Almost Amethyst ink.  I shaped it with my fingers and attached it with Mini Glue Dots.

The "handle" to the basket is the So Saffron 1/2" Striped Grosgrain Ribbon (also retiring!) attached on both sides with a Gold Mini Brad.   The inside where the bottom of the brad showed was covered up with a small So Saffron flower punched with the BoHo Blossoms Punch (love those small flowers!!  So handy!!)

Right now is your LAST CHANCE to purchase some wonderful accessories, stamp sets and home decor wall elements!  Check out the details on my Stampin' Up! website HERE.   When current supplies are gone, they will never be available again so don't delay in ordering!

Thanks for visiting today!  Have a stampin' good day!

Painted Pansies Flowerpot Card!

I have some more painted pansies for you today!  These pansies are cut out of Shimmery White cardstock with the Butterfly punch then watercolored with the Floating Reinker Technique.  They are so very fun to make and I thought a little flowerpot full of them would make a sweet card for someone.  In addition, this card will fit into a standard A-2 envelope (used for a 4-1/4 x 5-1/2" card).

The pansies are attached to a panel that is inserted into the flowerpot and pulls up and out.  This gives a nice space for a stamped greeting as well as a handwritten one too.  They are embellished with Old Olive cardstock leaf stems die cut with the Big Shot and Little Leaves Sizzlet (a favorite of mine!).

These would also be perfectly adorable as a placecard for each woman at a luncheon table!  Simply use a Mini Library Clip to attach a small piece of cardstock with the person's name written on it and lay it on the plate to note their seating at the table.  They could then take it with them and use it themselves to send a note to someone, thereby doing double duty!

Certainly Celery cardstock was cut into a 3.5" x 9" strip, scored 2" from one end, then 5.5" from that same end.  The 2" section was trimmed with a decorative edge punch (Scalloped Border) and layered with Cottage Wall Designer Series Paper that had been cut to size and scalloped also.  The base of the flowerpot was stamped with the Sanded background stamp in Certainly Celery Ink.  The 2" portion was folded downward (mountain fold) and the other end was folded up (valley fold).  Measure in 1/2" from the bottom fold of the flowerpot and cut up at an angle to the top (both layers) where the 2" score line is to make the bottom more narrow.  A length of Old Olive Striped Grosgrain was tied around the flowerpot top.  No adhesive was used on it except a smidge on the back to hold the ribbon in place.  All products by Stampin' Up!

I have a previous pansy card posted on May 15th, here with more information.

Hope you enjoyed the card.  Thanks for dropping by today; I appreciate it!

Have a wonderful weekend!

Ornament Punch Paper Roses

I've been making paper roses that are cut out with the Ornament Punch!  Who knew that punch would be so amazingly versatile as to make flowers!

This rose is made from Stampin' Up!'s Whisper White cardstock; the leaves are Wild Wasabi (yay!  SU is bringing it back!!)  Each petal was sponged with Regal Rose ink before curling and attaching to a circle of Whisper White punched with the 1 3/8" Circle Punch.

The green Ornament punch-outs were marked down the center with a stylus the curled slightly and attached to the base of the rose.

There are many things you can do with these roses:  decorate gifts, boxes, bags and use in home decor also.  Wouldn't these look beautiful on a wreath or used to decorate a table for a luncheon, dinner or tea?  I'm sure you'll come up with lots of ideas yourself!

I tied some of our sumptuous Old Olive wide striped Grosgrain Ribbon around an old book then adhered my rose to the bow.  It's lovely enough to grace a table or dresser, and wouldn't this be a beautiful way to present a book as a gift?

I'll look up my sources for the "how-to" of these flowers and post it here soon.  In the meantime, google is your best bet!

Thanks for visiting today!  Happy stamping (or punching!)
