Peaceful Petals Art CCMC303

Hi there!  Today we have a wonderful sketch from Create with Connie and Mary for our challenge 303; it's very simple and it offers SO many possibilities!  I chose to use my lovely Peaceful Petals set from the Occasions catalog; sadly this set is not in the new Annual Catalog which will be available soon.  I also used the new Work of Art set which is in the new catalog!

I chose a color scheme of Rich Razzleberry, Calypso Coral and Coastal Cabana with Whisper White.  On the top layer of white cardstock I first stamped the chevron stamp from Work of Art: I inked it with Stampin' Write Markers (water-based) and spritzed it from a distance to get just a small amount of moisture on it then stamped it.  Next, without reinking, I spritzed the chevron stamp again and stamped again, giving a very soft image.  The small scattered dots were stamped using a stamp from the Gorgeous Grunge set with Coastal Cabana ink.

In the top picture you can better see the random chevron texture which was achieved using our Chevron Embossing Folder; instead of running it through the Big Shot, I very carefully used a rubber mallet in random places on the card front.  I think this is a very cool technique; what do you think?

The largest flower stamp in the set was stamped with Memento Black ink onto Whisper White then colored with the Rich Razzleberry Blendabilities Marker set of three and the center with Daffodil Delight Blendabilities Markers.  The flower stem is handcut Whisper White colored with Coastal Cabana Markers; the leaves were stamped then colored with the Coastal Cabana Blendabilities and cut out.    The Rhinestones were colored with the Blendabilities Markers, which we can now do because the Blendabilities are alcohol-based!!  (YAY!! BIG SMILE on my face!!)

Stamps:  Peaceful Petals, Work of Art*, Gorgeous Grunge
Inks:  Memento Tuxedo Black*, Rich Razzleberry, Coastal Cabana and Calypso Coral Stampin' Write Markers (water-based).  Rich Razzleberry, Daffodil Delight and Coastal Cabana Blendabilities Markers*
Paper:  Whisper White and Calypso Coral
Accessories:  Paper Snips, Spritzer, Rhinestones, Chevron Embossing Folder, rubber mallet,

Peaceful Petals CCMC294

This week's challenge at Create with Connie and Mary is a color combination of Strawberry Slush, Old Olive and Basic Black.  I immediately thought of flowers (and hopefully spring will come soon!)

I used two black and white prints from the Kaleidoscope Designer Paper for my background; I love how they look together.  The stark graphics are offset by the curves and softness of the flower and leaves.

I diecut the black tab/banner using a framelit from the Hearts a Flutter Framelit Collection and accented it with a Large Rhinestone.  The "happy" was stamped onto a Vellum Cardstock banner and adhered under the flower; it was adorned with a smaller Rhinestone.

The flower and leaves were stamped with Black StazOn ink onto White Shimmer Paper then colored with a Blender Pen and ink refills.  After being cut out, the flower was attached with Dimensionals.

Stamps:  Peaceful Petals, Express Yourself (Hostess set)
Ink:  Black StazOn; Strawberry Slush and Old Olive ReInkers
Paper:  Kaleidoscope Designer Series Paper (Spring catalog), Basic Black, Shimmer White and Vellum cardstocks.
Accessories:  Large Rhinestone, Basic Rhinestones, Blender Pen, Hearts a Flutter Framelits Collection, Paper Snips

Make a Wish Pennants

Well, we're still staying inside and warm today after that big winter storm yesterday because our sidewalks and driveway are thick with ice and school is closed!   Good day to stamp, right?!  Today I have a card made with the Perfect Pennants set and the Banner Framelits which will be good for a guy's birthday, and I have the perfect guy in mind.. my brother!  (He doesn't read my blog so I'm sure he won't see this, lol)

I love that the Stampin' Up! offers the Perfect Pennants stamp set and the Banner Framelits as a "Bundle", saving me fifteen percent and stretching my stamping dollars!  I've really been enjoying how quick and easy it is for me to make perfect banners now!

This Retro Fresh Designer Paper is such fun and so colorful too!  And the glimmer stars really shine while still keeping the look masculine... love that!

Ink:  Tangerine Tango and Baked Brown Sugar.  Baked Brown Sugar and Coastal Cabana Stampin' Up! Markers

Another Great Year II

I'm having such a good time using this set!  Who knew I'd like it so much!  As I said in my previous post, I wasn't drawn to it at first until I began seeing samples with it (Lol, I must have said that dozens of times; how about you?!)  Anyway, here it is:

I stamped this large stamp twice:  once on the DSP and once on the cantaloupe cardstock.  After coloring the letters on the cardstock with a Calypso Coral marker, I cut out the banners from the cardstock and layered them onto the DSP with Dimensionals.  Add some trendy Gold Sequins and viola!, another pretty quick and easy card!

Stamps:  Another Great Year (2014 Occasions Catalog)
Ink:  Black StazOn
Paper:  Sweet Sorbet DSP (Sale-A-Bration); Pool Party, Crisp Cantaloupe and Basic Black ink pads, Calypso Coral Marker
Accessories:  Gold Sequins, Dimensionals, Paper Snips

I love the colors in this paper!  Doesn't this look like a fun birthday card to send a gal friend?!!

Thanks for visiting today!  We're having more winter storms today; hope you are safe and warm!  We are inside and not going anywhere!  : )  It's a good day to stamp and to watch the OKC Thunder play tonight on TV!

Hello Lovely Flower CCMC292

Today we have a lovely color challenge at Create with Connie and Mary using Pistachio Pudding, Summer Starfruit and Basic Black.

The banner was cut from the Sweet Sorbet DSP print using the largest Banner Framelit ; a strip of Summer Starfruit ribbon was added off-center.  The card base is Pistachio Pudding cardstock layered with Whisper White edged on the right side with the Pistachio ruffled ribbon before adding the top layer of Basic Black.

I used the Spiral Flower Die for the large flower; after assembling, I layered it onto a flower punched with the Fancy Flower Punch from the same paper (I curled the edges a little with a bone folder before adding the Spiral Flower).  The leaves were punched from black and tucked under the flower.

Stamps:  Hello Lovely
Ink:  Basic Black and Summer Starfruit Markers
Paper:  Summer Sorbet and SoHo Subway DSP; Pistachio Pudding, Whisper White, Basic Black cardstocks
Tools:  Big Shot, Spiral Flower Die, Little Leaves Sizzlit, Banner Framelit, Decorative Label Punch, Fancy Flower Punch, Bird Builder Punch (leaves).
Accessories:  Basic Pearls, Summer Starfruit 3/8" Satin Stitched Ribbon, Pistachio Pudding Ruffled Ribbon, Mono Multi Adhesive.

Here again is the color challenge this week:

Fresh Prints and Banners!

Have you tried the new Banner Framelits from the Spring/Occasions Catalog?  They weren't on my first order because I thought "I can cut my own banners".  However, after using these, I'm totally sold!  They quickly produce perfect and consistent banners of layered sizes with no more trimming to try to get my ends even and all that angst!  I've been using these framelits a lot and I'm SO GLAD I bought them!

Today's card is a combination of Real Red, Whisper White and Crumb Cake, taking my cue from the Fresh Prints Paper Pack in the Occasions Catalog.  I used three of the six Banner Framelits to cut the papers; there is one larger and two smaller banners in the collection.  The small "hello" banner is from the Perfect Pennants stamp set and is cut by hand.

I wrapped Chevron Ribbon layered with 1/4" Stitched Red Ribbon around the banners, added a bit of Victorian lace tied with the Silver Baker's Twine (Occasions Catalog).  The Basic Pearls were colored with Sharpie marker.

Stamps:  Perfect Pennants (hello)
Ink:  Real Red
Paper:  Fresh Prints DSP Stack*, Neutrals Designer Paper Stack.  Real Red and Crumb Cake cardstock
Accessories:  Natural 5/8" Chevron Ribbon*, 1/4" Red Stitched Ribbon, Victorian Lace, Silver Baker's Twine*, Basic Pearls
Tools:  Big Shot, Banner Framelits, Magnetic Platform for Big Shot, Polka Dot Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.

Petite Petals Anniversary

I started this card several weeks ago then got sick and wasn't able to complete it.  Yesterday I pulled it out and finished it.. yay!  Check one more thing off my catch-up to do list!

I had begun this card using a color challenge combination of Daffodil Delight, Island Indigo and Smokey Slate but as I worked on it, I decided to add some Perfect Plum in for a little more contrast.  The small flowers are the fabulous Petite Petals set and Punch from the Spring/Occasions Catalog; I am using this pair so much... love it!  First I sponged ink onto Whisper White Cardstock then stamped the flowers with the same color ink and this method gave me lots of contrast in color tones.

The large flower is punched from a lovely Daffodil Delight print from the Quatrefancy Specialty Designer Series Paper pack using the Fancy Flower and Pansy Punches; the top flower is another stamp from the Petite Petals set.  I centered this flower with a Basic Pearl and added crystal Dazzling Details to the center of each petite flower.

Stamps:  Petite Petals, Teeny Tiny Wishes
Ink:  Island Indigo, Perfect Plum, Smokey Slate
Paper:  Smokey Slate, Whisper White, Daffodil Delight cardstocks; Neutrals Designer Series Paper Stack (Smokey Slate), Quatrefancy Specialty DSP
Accessories:  1/4" Stitched Grosgrain Ribbon (Daffodil Delight), Dazzling Details, Basic Pearl
Tools:  Punches:  Petite Petals, Pansy, Fancy Flower. Paper Trimmer, Stampin' Sponge, Bone Folder
