Easter Bear from Build-A-Bear

This past week I just happened on the Charlie Brown Easter special (which I saw years ago) entitled "Charlie Brown and the Easter Beagle."  Well, today we have the Easter Bear!  lol!  I made this Easter card for a little three-year-old girl.   She loved the birthday Build-A-Bear card I made her a few months ago so I thought she might enjoy a bear Easter card also!  I used lots of happy spring colors, some of which were scraps on my stampin' desk, like the punched flowers!

The bear is cut from Close to Cocoa cardstock and the clothes and shoes from the tiny patterns of Pawsitively Prints Designer Paper.   The rabbit headpiece, basket and eggs are cut with the Stampin' Up! Beary Hoppy Sizzlits Die.  Isn't that headpiece a hoot?!!

The card base is Brocade Blue with a layer of Bashful Blue on top.  I swirled some White Craft Ink on the upper part of the Bashful Blue with a Sponge Dauber and it looks like very soft clouds, although it's not very visible in the photo.  Then a strip of Certainly Celery Designer Paper was fringed for grass and attached to the bottom.  On this are flowers punched with the Trio Flower Punch from various cardstocks and DSP.  Stems were drawn with the Certainly Celery Stampin' Write Marker.

Build-A-Bear Magnet Board BC#121

That Build-A-Bear (referred to as BAB) is SO CUTE! I sent a little girl a BAB card on her birthday and her mother said she absolutely loved it and carried it around all day, talking about it. Children love the Build-A-Bear! I have been wanting to make a BAB magnet board for a Christmas gift and ran across one ready made so I snatched it up quickly to use for this project.

First I used Garden Green for the lower portion "grass". I trimmed the top edge with SU's retired Deckle Scissors. Then I wheeled several colors of green with various Jumbo Wheels and punched them out with the Scallop Circle Punch. I used scraps for quite a few of these punchies, and a couple of retired greens snuck into this project! (the beloved Kiwi and Wasabi!) The tree trunk is Soft Suede cardstock run through the Big Shot with the "Distressed" Texturz Plate and then trimmed by hand. These elements were all applied to the magnet board with Snail Adhesive and some Dimensionals on a few of the tree scallops. The sun is the larger scallop circle cut with the Big Shot and the Scallop Circles #2 die. I cut it once then rotated the circle slightly and ran it through again; this cut the scallops into little points. I used YoYo Yellow and then sponged the edges with Summer Sun.

The circular storage containers are great to store the clothes for the Build-A-Bears cut with the Big Shot and the Beary Essentials die. They have a magnetic bottom and are easily removed from the board.

Jumbo Wheels: Cornelli Lace, Whimsey, Texture
Inks: Garden Green, Old Olive
Paper: Soft Suede, YoYo Yellow, Garden Green, Old Olive, Wild Wasabi (retired), Kiwi Kiss (retired); Pawsitively Prints Designer Paper for the BAB clothes.
Tools: Jumbo Handle, Big Shot, Distressed Texturz Plate, Scallop Circles #2 Die, BAB Die, Beary Essentials die, adhesive magnetic sheets for BAB and clothes.

All products except magnet board and containers (c)Stampin' Up!

This was fun to put together. I may want to play with it awhile before I give it away for Christmas! :)

This project is also for today's Blogger's Challenge #121: Alter It! You can see a list of the other challengers here. Not everyone participates every week but they are all talented stampers and you'll enjoy their blogs.

Thanks for visiting today. I always enjoy your comments too! Thanks!

Build-A-Bear Birthday Card

I just recently got my exclusive Stampin' Up! Build-A-Bear Dies!! Here's a photo when Bearemy(R) and our new partnership with the Build-A-Bear Worshop(R) company was introduced at convention by Jill Kocherhans; you can see by the confetti on the floor that he was given an exciting and rousing reception!

We have four pages of Build-A-Bear products on pages 34-37 of the fabulous Holiday Mini Catalog. You'll be blown away by all the new and fabulous products in it! WOW! (see link at bottom of this post)

I needed a card for a three-year-old's birthday so my new Build-a-Bear (BAB) dies are perfect. The bear is diecut with the Big Shot Bigz die out of Close to Cocoa cardstock; her clothes are cut with the Beary Essentials Bigz Die from the new Pawsitively Prints Designer Series Paper designed just for the BAB line. (I just love those little pleats in her skirt; what great details!) Now, every self-respecting girl bear has to accessorize, so we have accessories for her cut with the Beary Girl Sizzlet out of Brocade Blue cardstock (purse, belt, bow, heart, flower in hair)! Isn't she just a doll?! lol!

Stamps: Funky Forest wheel (background)
Inks: Old Olive marker and ink cartridge for wheel
Paper: Pawsitively Prints DSP (#118060, $9.95); Close to Cocoa, Old Olive, Brocade Blue, Bashful Blue, Pretty in Pink cardstocks, pink DSP from my scrap box.
Tools: Big Shot, Bear Bigz Die, Beary Essentials Bigz Die, Beary Girl Sizzlet, Trio Flower Punch (pink flowers), White Signo Gel Pen.

I hope you enjoy this card... I have a feeling you'll be seeing more of this beary cute girl and her boy bear friend! lol!

Click this bear for the Build-A-Bear products on the SU website! Click on "Learn More" under the text and you can even dress the bear, like playing paperdolls! (Oh, I might be going to have a second childhood!) lol!

Click the bear to see all the Build-a-Bear products in the Holiday Mini Catalog! (a .pdf file).
