TSSC #70 - One of a Kind

It's already Monday again and the day for Technostamper's Monday Sketch Challenge! And number 70 already?! Wow, time is flying by! Here's the sketch for today, a simple but interesting one:

From this sketch I made a pretty simple and quick card. I chose the Washington Apple DSP because it has bright and spring-y colors AND because it has a stripe, which I wanted to use on one of the front panels. The Bashful Blue print is a perfect foil for the stripe.

For the three round images on the front I chose a flower stamp from the One of a Kind stamp set. It just fit perfectly under a large round Clear Button which I've had out on my desk to remind me to use. I haven't for quite a while and they are a product with lots of versatility! You can emboss on them or place stamped images, solid colors or punchout from DSP behind them! Today I stamped the flower on white cardstock in a color from the stripe, Pumpkin Pie. This was punched out with the 1" Round Punch and placed behind the button. A So Saffron brad from the Rich Regals Brads assortment was placed in the two thread holes and laid aside.

On a card base of So Saffron two pieces of different designs from the Washington Apple DSP were layered. Three strips of So Saffron grosgrain ribbon were added for the horizontal design and then the three prepared Clear Buttons were added using Mini Glue Dots for a secure hold.

The sentiment"Happy Birthday Wishes" from Fast and Fun Notes stamp set was stamped on So Saffron card stock and punched out with the Word Window Punch then attachedf to the bottom ribbon.

Stamps: One of a Kind, Fast and Fun Notes
Inks: Pumpkin Pie Classic
Paper: Washington Apple Designer Series Paper; So Saffron, Whisper White card stock
Accessories: Clear Round Buttons, Rich Regals Brad asst., 1" Circle Punch, Word Window Punch, So Saffron 5/8" Grosgrain Ribbon, Mini Glue Dots

This was a fun card to make and to send. Try one yourself and see what you come up with! You can see Technostamper's blog here and also a list of those who are participating in the sketch this week!

Back from Stampin' Up! Convention!

I'm back from convention and had a great time! I'll post more pictures and information later, but I do have one of my swaps that I wanted to share with you today while I have a few minutes. We are looking to buy a car; great thing to do in 100 degree heat, right?

I was in a small group Wow card swap at convention and this is the card I made. It uses a cool diamond fold. I received the instructions for it from Laura Lipe and then found a video here on You Tube demonstrating it. I'm very "visual" so that helped a bunch! Now, after having folded about 30 of these babies I think I have it down pat! lol!

These other pictures show the card opened somewhat and then a top shot to view the fold better. I did stamp the two sentiments from the set, one on each side but you have to open it a little further to see those.

The flower from One of a Kind was stamped with craft ink then clear embossed on Pink Pirouette cardstock, then more color was added with the same ink and a Blender Pen. Riding Hood Red was added to the inner ring of the flower; the center was stamped with Kiwi Kiss then punched out and added to the flower with a Dimensional. It's cool the way this card will stand up!

Stamps: One of a Kind
Inks: Chocolate Chip Craft and Classic, Pink Pirouette, Riding Hood Red, Kiwi Kiss (new In

Paper: Whisper White, Chocolate Chip cardstock; new Bella Rose Designer Paper

Hope you enjoy! It was fun to go but it's always good to be back home. : )
More later,
Margaret
