Just Believe! Cajun and Pear

Welcome to the third day of our Just Believe! set series.  My hope to show some of the versatility of this lovely set this week!
I wanted to showcase the silhouette stamps on this card and use the new color Cajun Craze.  The new Color Coach was my go-to tool for this to give me ideas for a color scheme.  You'll love the totally new Color Coach!  It has so much larger chunks of color and you can fan the pages out to see and compare colors together!   There's even a couple of pages to add your own color schemes!  Check it out; I think you'll really like it and see how it you would benefit from it!

First I sponged Cajun Craze onto the lower part of a piece of Blushing Bride, then More Mustard was blended above that.  The large silhouette was then stamped twice in Cajun Craze and the smaller stems were stamped sparingly in Pear Pizzazz.  The sentiment was added at the top in Cajun Craze and the right side torn off.  This was layered on Pear Pizzazz which has the bottom treated with the Pinking Hearts Border Punch and the right side torn also.  Pear Pizzazz ribbon was tied around for finishing.  This was all layered on a Cajun Craze card base.

Inside I added a layer of Very Vanilla cardstock and stamped a sentiment from Favorite Thoughts set (Summer Mini), which will not be available after today, August 31st. : (  Several stems were stamped in Pear Pizzazz to carry the design through to the inside for a finished look.

Just Believe! Celery and Pink

The second card in this Just Believe series is another easy one!  It does have lots of visual interest though, thanks to the deeply embossed texture in the pink layer!
Pink and Green are always a beautiful duet and this combination of Certainly Celery and Blushing Bride are no exception!   Using the Big Shot Die Cutting Machine and the gorgeous new Elegant Lines Embossing Folder on the Blushing Bride layer gives a simple elegance to the card.

The sentiment "label" is from the Just Believe set.  I colored it with markers then stamped on Whisper White and cut it out with my Paper Snips.  The sentiment "L is for Love" is from the Grateful Greetings set (#116511, p. 27) in the catalog.  A sash and tie of Old Olive taffeta ribbon finish off the front.  This ribbon is retired but we have solid Old Olive Taffeta ribbon in the catalog; mine just hasn't arrived yet!

Two layers, a sentiment and a ribbon, viola!  Done!  You can use this for a number of occasions such as an anniversary card, wedding, wedding shower, Valentine or family or friend card.  It's a card I'll be pleased to send and which didn't take hours to make!

Thanks for stopping by today!  I'll have the third card in this series tomorrow!  Don't miss it!

Just Believe! Saffron and Circles

One of the sets we used for Make 'n Takes at the Stampin' Up! Convention was Just Believe!   I'll be showing off this wonderfully versatile set of nine stamps this week so I hope you will join me every day!

Today's card uses the circular flower stamp as the primary design focus.  The three circles are stamped with Wild Wasabi, So Saffron and Perfect Plum then punched out with the 1 3/8" Circle Punch.  They are attached with Dimensionals to Whisper White cardstock that has been dry embossed with the new Elegant Lines Embossing Folder and the Big Shot then layered onto more Perfect Plum.

The card base of So Saffron has been stamped with the large floral stamp in So Saffron ink then the "just for you" from the set overstamped in Perfect Plum.

This is a simple card but of course you can always "gussy it up" with embellishments like ribbon, jewels, buttons, etc.; today I chose to leave it simple to keep the focus on the stamps.  (And sometimes we just need to make a quick card that goes together in a hurry, ya' know?!)

Thanks for visiting today!  Have a wonderful Sunday!  Hope to see you again this week!

Aviary in Pear and Blushing Bride

This is my last Aviary card I received in swapping at the recent Stampin' Up! Convention!  What fun to see all the creative ideas!  My friend, Gayle Enouen made this and I received it in a group swap.
Gayle used the new Elegant Lines Embossing Folder and turned the embossed side down for a "debossed" look.  Blushing Bride and Pear Pizzazz with white form the soft feminine color scheme.   The birdcage is stamped in Pear Pizzazz ink and the little bird, one of four in the set, is stamped in the same Blushing Bride color.

The elegant greeting is stamped with the lovely new Curly Cute set (five different greetings).  One of Stampin' Up!'s gorgeous sparkly rhinestones graces the top of the cage!  Every girl has to have a little bling, you know!

Thanks for visiting!  The next set I'll be featuring is Just Believe, so come back soon to see these!

Aviary Birthday!

I have another Aviary card for you today!  What a fun set!

Today's card was also a swap I received at the Stampin' Up! Convention last month; it was
made by Deanna Allen of Utah.  A rich color scheme of So Saffron, the yummy new Cherry Cobbler and Early Espresso deep brown frame the white folded tag cut with the Two Tag Die and the Big Shot die cutting machine.  When you open the tag, it is stamped with "birthday" and the long legged bird from the set.  So clever!

The Saffron and Cherry Cobbler are dry embossed with the Square Lattice embossing folder and the Cherry has the lower edge treated with the Scallop Border Punch.   Don't you just love the new narrow Espresso ribbon with the white edges?  A perfect finish to an adorable card!  Thanks, Deanna, for sharing such a great card!

Thanks for visiting today!  I'll have more tomorrow!  See you then!

Aviary

Aviary is one of the cutest new sets in the catalog, IMHO.  :)  These little whimsical birdcages and birds are adorable and just make you want to play!  Today I have two cards I received in swapping at the recent Stampin' Up! Convention; it's so much fun to see what ideas and designs everyone has come up with using new and current stamps and products!

This lovely card has no name on the back so I don't know who made it!  If it is yours, let me know as you deserve credit for your attractive card!  I love how the artist used the Scallop Square Punch to create the two underlying scallop corners for the birdcage layer.  Love this bright cheerful color scheme also!

Edited 8-26-2010  I received a sweet email last evening from Caren Curtis from Texas, but originally from here in the Oklahoma City area!!  She is the artist/creator of the above card and saw it on my blog here yesterday!!  What are the chances of that!!  I'm so tickled that she saw her work and let me know that she made this adorable card.  THANKS, Caren!!  Maybe I'll meet you at the Ft. Worth Stampin' Up! Regional?  How fun!

The second card was made by Amy Storrie of Texas.  Amy used the color scheme of Pumpkin Pie and Rose Red based on the Sweet and Sour Specialty Designer Paper; the bubble-look strip across the lower part of the card is one of the prints from that package.  I love how Amy brought in the new Pear Pizzazz color on the card base and through the ribbon also.

Both these cards use the same birdcage but there are actually four different ones in the set, as well as four different birds, including the cute little owl!  You'll have no end of fun using all these images in your creations!

Thanks for visiting today!  I'll have a couple more Aviary cards to post next time!

Tropical Birthday!

Time is passing so quickly!  I just love all the tropical themed products in Stampin' Up!'s Summer Mini Catalog but the mini only goes through August 31 and it's the 17th already!  Yikes!  So today I have taken the opportunity to use four of the Summer Mini products on my card for the current Blogger's Challenge Birthday Challenge card!

Pure Tempting Turquoise is the background color for my tropical creation.  A layer of Old Olive run through the Big Shot with the Square Lattice Embossing Folder reminds of woven tropical mats and is the bottom layer, topped with a splash of color from the Island Oasis Designer Series Paper bordered with Rose Red trim (done with the Pinking Hearts Border Punch).  Multiple palm fronds are stamped in Old Olive on the turquoise behind the flower for that breezy tropical feel.

The flower was created primarily with die cuts using the Island Floral BigZ Die and the Big Shot machine.  Both the Rose Red and Pumpkin Pie flowers were die cut; the Saffron flower was stamped with the 5 Petal flower stamp from the Punched Posies Hostess set then punched out with the 5 Petal Flower Punch.  The large Pumpkin Pie flower has also been dry embossed with the Flourish design from the Texturz Plates Backgrounds I set and the Big Shot.  Dazzling Diamonds bling up the flower center!  The flower was  adhered with Dimensionals.

The birthday greeting stamp is from Perfect Punches (2010-2011 Catalog), stamped in Rose Red and punched out with the Wide Oval Punch.  Don't you just love all these wonderful punches?  They give such professional results and are so quick and easy to use!

The good news is that the Square Lattice Embossing Folder and the Island Blossoms BigZ die have been carried over to the new 2010-2011 Catalog; the sad news is that the Tropical Oasis Designer Paper  and the Tropical Party set were not  : (  If you want these, you will definitely need to order them before August 31st!

You can see the other Blogger's Challenge players' creations did by clicking on this link then clicking on their name to go to their blogs!

Any of these products can be ordered from your Stampin' Up! Demonstrator, or if you don't have one, I'd be happy to help you.  Just email me here.

Thanks for visiting me today!  I plan to be posting more soon since I'm feeling better again.

Greenhouse Gala Gifts

Here's a convention gift I made for several good friends using that fabulous Greenhouse Gala Designer Series Paper.  Actually I had this and a couple of other things all together in the box concealed in kraft tissue paper, placed into a cellophane bag and tied with a Chocolate Satin Ribbon bow.

The box is Chocolate Chip cardstock die cut with the Big Shot and the Fancy Favor Box Die and wrapped with a swath of the Greenhouse Gala DSP.  Peeking out underneath are scallops of Marina Mist made with the Scallop Trim Border Punch.  The greeting has the same Marina Mist scallops under the sentiment from Favorite Thoughts set (Summer Mini only) and stamped with a light Marina Mist crown from the new Artistic Etchings set.

Other items include a mini purse-size hand sanitizer and several chocolate bars wrapped with the DSP and new In Color ribbons added.  I also included a tube of hand cream (not shown) and a bag or key tag made with Stampin' Up! Longboard Chipboard, Greenhouse DSP, Friends Never Fade stamp set and a Mini Vintage Tag.  The flower is covered with Crystal Effects for a shiny, dimensional surface and centered with one of our new Jewel Basics Rhinestone for bling!

Just Believe!

One of the sets we received in our bag at Stampin' Up! Convention and used for our Make and Takes is the wonderful set of nine stamps called Just Believe (#116948 w or #120453 c, p. 109).  This understated and elegant card was made at a pre-convention stamp camp.

The base is Sahara Sand layered with Crumb Cake and the new In Color Pear Pizzazz.  All of the stamps used on this card with the exception of the En Francais background stamped in Sahara Sand, are in the set, along with several others.

The circular floral stamp was stamped in Pear Pizzazz then punched out with the 1 1/4" Circle Punch and layered onto a circle of Crumb Cake punched out with the 1 3/8" Circle Punch.  A hole was punched through the center of this with the larger hole punch on the Crop-a-Dile and the new Pear Pizzazz ribbon threaded through and tied with a length of Linen Thread for a nice touch.

As you can see, a good bit of sponging and tearing gives this card some interesting character.  I enjoyed making it and was pleased with the results!  I'm eager to make more projects with this beautiful set!

Thanks for dropping by today!
