Circle of Spring

Hi there!  Today we have a new challenge from Create with Connie and Mary!  It's a really great sketch with elements that can be interpreted in endless ways!

I chose the new Circle of Spring set from the 2015-16 Annual Catalog!  What a sweet set with numerous sentiments, and best of all it coordinates with the Wonderful Wreath Framelits that came out last winter.  If you bought those, you are already ahead and this set will fit right in with your other tools!

I colored the wreath and sentiment with Blender Pens and ink then used the wreath framelits to diecut it.  The background of Pink Pirouette was textured with the new Fluttering Embossing Folder and the Mint Macaron cardstock band over it has a chevron-shaped cut.  After wrapping and tying with Black and White Baker's Twine, the cardfront was adhered to a Blushing Bride card base.

Stamps:  Circle of Spring
Ink:  Memento Tuxedo Black, Rose Red, Cucumber Crisp, Watermelon Wonder, Daffodil Delight
Paper:  Blushing Bride, Pink Pirouette, Mint Macaroon, Daffodil Delight, Whisper White.
Accessories:  1" Circle Punch, 1-1/4" Scallop Circle Punch, Wonderful Wreath Framelits, Black Baker's Twine, Butterflies Embossing Folder, Big Shot.

Here is sketch CCMC361 for Create with Connie and Mary this coming week:

Tour De Freaks!

Welcome to the June Tour De Freaks!  This month the group is featuring NEW products from the 2015-2016 Stampin' Up! Catalog!

You may have just arrived here from the talented Julie Davison's blog and I'm sure you enjoyed her wonderful creations!  There are fourteen stops on the hop this month so just grab your beverage and sip away while your tour through all the wonderful creations ahead!

I chose to mainly feature one stamp set, Friendly Wishes,  and one Designer Paper Stack:  Go Wild, and used other new items in the process as well!

I just love the designs in the Go Wild DSP Stack... it features some cool animal prints in it as well as other interesting designs!  This card could be used for a number of occasions and could make a good Father's Day card for one's hubby this Sunday!

Stamps:  Friendly Wishes, Groovy Love sets
Inks:  Real Red, Memento Tuxedo Black
Paper:  Go Wild DSP Stack, Real Red, Basic Black, Whisper White
Accessories:  Sweetheart Punch, Hearts Border Punch, Silver Buttons, Silver Baker's Twine, Venetian Crochet Trim, Project Life Corner Punch.

My second card uses the colors in the Go Wild Paper Stack (Black, Tip Top Taupe, Whisper White) plus Hello Honey.  I used the new Triple Banner Punch to shape the ends of both banners... so easy, peasy!!  The sentiment was diecut with the Tags and Labels Framelits... Love how they layer!!  I did layer them once again on a piece of Black cardstock.  This card could also be used for a Father's Day card this Sunday!

Inks:  VersaMark
Paper:  Tip Top Taupe, Hello Honey, Basic Black cardstocks; Go Wild DSP Stack
Accessories:  Black Stampin' Emboss Powder, Heat Tool, Tags and Labels Framelits, Big Shot, Triple Banner Punch, Woodgrain Embossing Folder, Antique Brad, Hello Honey Bakers Twine (from Sale-A-Bration 2015).

My last card features another sentiment from the set as well as a print that reminds me of a giraffe's markings (It also comes in black in the DSP stack).  I was excited to break out a new set of framelits, Lots of Labels; I really like their shape and also how nicely this set of framelits layer.

I colored the words and heart with Stampin' Write Makers and punched out some coordinating flowers from cardstock for accents, then added a wrap of Bermuda Bay Baker's Twine.

Papers:  Watermelon Wonder, Whisper White, Hello Honey, Cucumber Crush, Tangelo Twist.
Accessories & Tools:  Lots of Labels Framelits, Big Shot, Magnetic Platform, Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack (sm. heart), Bermuda Bay Baker's Twine, Basic Pearls, Stampin' Write Markers.

Thanks for stopping by!  Feel free to leave a comment if you wish!  Enjoy the rest of your trip around the blog hop.

Awesomely Artistic CCMC360

Hi there!   We have a lovely Color Challenge today at Create with Connie and Mary consisting of Island Indigo, Smoky Slate and Chocolate Chip!  I just received my new Catalog order the night before we left for a family reunion so I was eager to use a new stamp set this week; this one is called Awesomely Artistic!

First I mixed alcohol and Smoky Slate ink refill in a mister; next I diecut a piece of cardstock (any color) with the Hexagon Hive Thinlit Die and cut out a piece to use as a stencil.  I placed it on Whisper White and spritzed it with the ink mixture.  Next I stamped the "spots" die with Island Indigo (stamped off twice before stamping on the white) randomly around the card.

The flower cluster was stamped with Island Indigo then I immediately pulled some of the color around the image with a Blender Pen and fussy cut it.  I stamped the fern and ribbon (border) stamps with Chocolate Chip and added the button.

The dragonfly was inked and stamped off twice before stamping on the card; after it dried I added Dazzling Details to give it some shimmer.  I also added Dazzling Details to the flower centers for a little more shimmer!

Stamps:  Awesomely Artistic
Inks:  Island Indigo, Smoky Slate, Chocolate Chip
Paper:  Island Indigo, Chocolate Chip, Whisper White cardstock
Accessories:  Neutrals Button, Blender Pen, Dazzling Details, Stampin' Spritzer, Hexagon Hive Thinlits Die, Big Shot, Magnetic Platform.

Here is the color combination we're using this week:

It took me a little while to figure out what to do with this combination but I ended up liking it a lot!  What would YOU create using this color scheme?  We would love to see!!  So jump over to Create with Connie and Mary for the challenge guidelines and while there, do check out the other Challenge Team members' creations... they are all SO talented!

Thanks for visiting this week!  Until next time, Happy Stamping!!

Cherry on Top Birthday!

We have a great sketch this week over at Create with Connie and Mary!  This is a fun sketch and that is perfect for using some of that beautiful new Designer Series Paper on if you wish!  I used two pieces of DSP from the Cherry On Top Designer Paper Stack:  the banners print and the Bermuda Bay pattern.

I like this new Cherry on Top paper; it's so bright, fun and perfect for celebratory cards.  This card is for a birthday so I used a sentiment from the Remembering Your Birthday set on the right horizontal shape.  I stamped it on Pool Party (which is also in the print but hard to see in this picture) using Watermelon Wonder ink.

Crushed Curry Candy Dots emphasize the top banners and a gold glimmer star embellishes the sentiment.

I wound Gold Baker's Twine around the card front under the sentiment and tied it into a bow; I like the touch of sparkle that it adds to the card!

Stamps:  Remembering Your Birthday
Inks:  Watermelon Wonder
Paper:  Cherry on Top DSP Stack;  Watermelon Wonder, Crushed Curry, Pool Party, Whisper White cardstock; Gold Glimmer Paper.
Accessories:  Gold Baker's Twine, Decorative Label Punch, Star Punch, Regal Candy Dots

Here is the sketch we used this week:
It's really a fun and easy sketch for creative inspiration!  Be sure to check out the creations of the other Challenge Team members for their wonderful projects!  We hope you will join us this coming week and use this sketch for a card then share it with us on Create with Connie and Mary!  It's easy and the guidelines are on the Create with Connie and Mary website!

Giggle Greetings & a Color Challenge

It's Thursday and time for another challenge from Create with Connie and Mary!  This time we have a fun color challenge of So Saffron, Hello Honey and Lost Lagoon.  I had to look around for awhile to find any DSP in any of these colors, given the catalog transition period, and found this Hello Honey print in the Cherry on Top Paper Stack (the catalog description includes Hello Honey but the list on the Paper Stack doesn't.  However after comparison I found it does match Hello Honey perfectly.)

This cheese was just the thing to showcase the yellow tones of ink!  I stamped it in Stazon Black, colored it with Blender Pens and inks then layered it on Lost Lagoon cardstock.  The card base is Hello Honey over which is a layer of So Saffron which has been punched with two different circle punches to emulate the holes in the cheese.

Birthday presents have bows so why not cards too?!  I used the Bow Builder Punch to make the bow out of the Hello Honey print then used Lost Lagoon cardstock for the "ribbon" and around the center of the bow!  I can think of a few friends that I believe will get a kick out of a card like this for their birthday!  : )

Stamps:  Giggle Greetings
Inks:  Stazon Black, So Saffron, Hello Honey, Lost Lagoon
Paper:  Cherry on Top DSP Stack; Whisper White, Lost Lagoon, Hello Honey, So Saffron
Accessories:  Bow Builder Punch, 1/2" Circle Punch, 1/4" Circle Punch, Project Life Corner Rounder, Blender Pens, Dazzling Details.

Here is the creative color challenge for this coming week:

We hope you will jump right into this challenge and create a card or other project!  All the guidelines are on the Create with Connie and Mary website as well as the challenge cards for all the Challenge Team.  Check them out; these ladies are always are so creative!
