TSSC #52 Parisian Summer

It's Monday and I got to participate in Technostamper's Monday Lunchtime Sketch Challenge again! Here's the sketch Mary Jo gave us and it was kind of a challenge, lol!

I thought that Designer Paper would be the way to go to define the various area of the design. I wanted to do a Valentine but with colors that would be suitable for a card for my husband. I chose the Parisian Summer Designer Paper; the Bravo Burgundy, Sahara Sand, So Saffron and pale Pink combination work well for this card. I love this paper and will be sorry for it to retire this week. : (

I didn't use a stamp set for my card; the Designer Paper is the main "star", lol! I used the Go Go Boots Sizzix alphabet in my Big Shot for the "2" and punched the two hearts out with the new Heart to Heart Punch that is part of the Love You Much Special this month.

I used the Signo White Gel Pen for the dots around the two hearts and the sentiment is a rub-on from the Chit Chat Assortment, which has at least a couple of hundred sentiments. These are greatly useful because they can solve the problem of finding something that will show up on dark paper, ribbons and other materials. A tie of vanilla 5/8" grosgrain ribbon around the top of the card is the finishing touch.

More Love You Much!

Sorry it's taken me so long to post some more cards; we've had illness at our house this week. Hope you haven't caught anything (but maybe the stampin' bug, lol!)

I have a couple more cards from my Stamp Therapy group using the new Love You Much bundle that is a Sneak Peek Special Buy right now through January 31 from Stampin' Up! Gayle made this card using the stamp set and paper. To make the curvy decorative edge on the bottom of the Riding Hood Red card stock, Gayle used the Curly Label Punch!! How clever is that! What a beautiful effect!

Gayle used Pink Pirouette, Riding Hood Red and Close to Cocoa cardstocks with the Candy Lane DSP and coordinating inks.

Pink Pirouette, Regal Rose and Whisper White form the color scheme for Leslie's top fold vertical card. Leslie used the triple heart stamp for the background on the white cardstock.

She stamped the round image, cut it out and layered another heart in the center for dimension; this was then layered on a Regal Rose scallop circle punched with the round Scallop Punch which was tucked under the center panel. A Regal Rose grosgrain ribbon tie gives a luxurious finishing touch. Just lovely, Leslie!

Love You Much cards! TSSC #46

Here are a couple of cards using the new Love You Much bundle that is a Sneak Peek Special Buy right now through January 31 from Stampin' Up!

This new Candy Lane Designer Paper is just adorable! Love the colors in it: Pink Pirouette, Riding Hood Red, Close to Cocoa and Whisper White. They are just yummy together and perfect to make all kinds of Valentine cards, gifts and goodie holders, as well as other greetings throughout the year.

I used Technostamper's sketch TSSC#46 as the basis of my design, but as you can see I changed it up a bit to accommodate the size of the stamps in this set. The sketch is to the left.


For the little heart punches, I took a strip of red cardstock, rubbed it well with a VersaMark pad, sprinkled it with Iridescent Ice embossing powder and heated it. These make sparkly little hearts to embellish your projects. : )

When our "Stamp Therapy" group of demo friends met in December, we each made cards to swap with the new Love You Much set. The above card was my swap and the one to the left is by Connie Stewart.

Doesn't Connie's layout of three strips of the Candy Lane DP layered on Close to Cocoa then a card of Pink Pirouette make a striking card? Connie also made good use of punches on her card, using the 1 1/4, 1/1/8 Circle, Scallop Circle, Large Oval and Small Oval punches. Love the touch of Ridimg Hood Red behind the "friend to friend" sentiment on her card!

I'll have more of the swap cards to share the next day or so.

Travel Albums

My group of "Stamp Therapy" friends met about a week before Christmas for sharing friendship and projects, swapping gifts and cards and lunch! What a great time we had!



These are the booklets I made to give each friend which they can use when they go to Stampin' Up! Leadership in January. There are envelopes inside to hold receipts for travel expenses.

Each album front is the thin paperboard that comes inside the Designer Paper package covered with a different Designer Series Paper. The back covers are covered with coordinating cardstock. I used the Bind-It-All tool to put it together. The letters on the front are diecut with the Big Shot and the Go Go Boots Alphabet.

Big Shot Money Holders

I am finally back somewhat. My computer was beyond repair so I am now using my laptop (thankfully I had one). I had to get some software loaded and some new drivers installed, etc. (it uses MS Vista instead of XP) in order to get my software to work properly but it finally seems to be working now. Thanks so much for hanging with me while I underwent this ordeal of losing my computer, files and software. I also now have new ways of backup! : )

I trust you have all have had a busy Christmas season and hopefully an enjoyable one! Next comes New Years, and here in Oklahoma, we have two bowl games to watch: Oklahoma State Univ. vs Oregon St. tomorrow night and the University of Oklahoma vs. Florida on Jan. 8 for the National Championship. Throw in the New Year's party and New Year's Day parade and looks like we'll still be busy awhile! : )

On to some more fun stuff: stamping! I needed some money/gift card holders for some of my gift-giving last week. I had seen something similar somewhere several weeks ago (and I've forgotten where!) so I whipped four of these out quickly on Christmas eve day. (If it was your blog, post in the comments so I can give you proper credit, please!).

I used the Big Shot with the largest Scalloped Circle Die to cut out the red cardstock with the stamped image strip and olive strip attached. The image was quickly colored in with markers and some highlights and swirlies were added with a glitter pen. A tab punch at the top provides a hanger for the silver cord. I cut out additional scalloped circles, cut them in half and adhered them to the back of the circles, forming a pocked to hold a gift card or gift of money. My granddaughters thought they were very cute and kept them to hang on their trees again in the future. : ) I had other ideas for decoration but my time was very limited so I went with these as you see them.
