Posting MIA

So sorry to be MIA and not posting lately. I've been out of town some and am now preparing for the Stampin' Up! Convention in Salt Lake City next week, feverishly working on swaps, plus I still have a little shopping to do, (incidentals like make-up!) lol!. I leave on Monday and return the following Sunday.

Thanks for being so patient and bearing with me. I'll have tons of things to share when I return from convention! AND I'll have a copy of the new catalog because we receive it on check-in day Wednesday! YEA!!

Happy Stamping!

Together Forever

Here is a wonderful way to use your stamping skills and supplies to make a customized book for any occasion! This wedding book was made by my daughter Robin Clark for her daughter's wedding. She used the beautiful Together Forever set for the stamped images and the colors of Cool Caribbean, Black and Whisper White, the bride's chosen colors. for the front and back covers
Robin used chipboard covered with Whisper White cardstock then layered the other colors on that. The center cireles were cut with
the Coluzzle. The white flowers decorating the cover are from the Pretties Kit , centered with flat back pearls; the aqua flowers were purchased. Ice Rhinestone brads anchor the four corners of the white mat and white Taffeta Ribbon is layered beneath that.

The inside pages for Guests, Gifts and Shower information were made on a word processing program in her computer and printed on Whisper White cardstock. They look so professional.

The entire book was bound with a Bind-It-All machine and coil.

The smaller picture is of the back cover.

To carry out the color scheme further, Turquoise Prints Designer Series Paper was used to cover Hershey's Minis that were spread on the tables for guests. Hey, I did get to San Antonio in time to help do that! : ) The cake topper did end up on the cake, I just took this pic early.

Now, this isn't stamping but I wanted to share anyway : ) The grooms cake was chocolate and had the usual strawberries with it; however, in the center with the grooms initial were the cutest bride and groom strawberries! I just had to show you!

And, yummy, the cake was as delicious as it looks! Thanks for indulging me! : )

Happy Wednesday, everyone! Stamp a little love for someone today.

Pocket Birthday Card RAK

I received this beautiful card from an online friend, Laura Holm. Laura loves to make pocket cards and I am the lucky recipient of this one. She used the Spring Silhouettes Designer Series Paper which features colors of Wild Wasabi, Bashful Blue and Whisper White for this light and fresh look.

The front is decorated with a cutout stamped on Bashful Blue with the Enjoy Every Moment set and a blue Ice Rhinestone brad. The top of the pocket insert card is decorated with a medallion stamped with the BoHo Backgrounds set which is punched out with the Scallop Punch and other circle punches and centered with another rhinestone brad.

The second picture shows the inside of the card and the sentiment (unknown source).

Thank you, Laura for the lovely card!

Happy Friday, everyone!

A Quick Note

Yesterday I needed a quick note to mail a check to a friend who is making dinner reservations for our group at the Stampin' Up! Convention at the end of this month. Hmm, I couldn't just send it in plain paper could I? I mean, she is a stamper and demo too! : ) I only had a short time to grab cardstock and stamps and put together this little card to enclose before the mail ran.

I had these are strips of Bali Breeze Designer Paper left from other projects. I pieced them together on the card and added a medallion with the M from Lovely Letter Alphabet set (love it!), circle punches and the Scallop circle punch. Done! And much better than plain cardstock. : ) I just love Designer Paper for cards, not only when I am in a hurry but anytime.

Of course I'm not showing you this as a "great work of art" (that it's not!) but as something simple you can do quickly. It is also "green" as it is a good way to make use of those scraps of pretty paper we can't bear to throw away! I left the strips their original width and on a couple of them I had to trim the ends and that was it. What can you do with your scraps? I'm sure you'll come up with some great ideas! Just for fun and inspiration, post a link to your blog or website in the comments section and share some of your "green" or recycle projects with us. Thanks!

Happy Sunday, everyone.

Sneak Peek: Owl Together Now!

I hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend as we in the USA celebrate our July 4th Independence Day!

I received this card in a Sketch Challenge on one of my online stampers' groups. The person sending to me was Ida Krause; she used this stamp set called Owl Together Now! It was a gift to the demonstrators on the Stampin' Up! Bermuda Cruise Incentive trip this past April. It will be available in the Fall/Winter 08 Catalog which will be available for ordering on August 11! The use of bird images has been wildly popular the past year or so and now owls are a hot trend! This big-eyed fella is so cute sitting on his branch! I understand there are other clever owl sayings and images in this set also. I can't wait to see the new catalog and see what else Stampin' Up! has in store for us! The new catties will be here and in effect on August 11!

Stamps: Owl Together Now
Inks: Tempting Turquoise, Black
Paper: Bali Breeze Designer Paper; Whisper White, Pumpkin Pie, Old Olive
Accessories: Felt Fusion flowers, Rhinestone brads

Thanks, Ida, for such an adorable card!

You can see the sketch and the card I made for this challenge HERE.
Have a great weekend! Happy Stampin'!
