Medallion in Brocade and Suede

Today I needed to make a sympathy card for a friend. I chose the Medallion stamp for its classic beauty and it's circular design symbolizing eternal life.

First I stamped the Medallion background with Sahara Sand ink onto a Natural White cardstock layer; the Naturals card stocks have tiny flecks in them and give nice depth and visual texture. Then the Medallion was stamped off-center over that in Brocade Blue Ink. I stamped the Medallion again on a scrap of the same cardstock, cut the center circle out, added a Square Ice Rhinestone Brad to it and adhered this layer with Dimensionals to the larger medallion.

The card base is Brocade Blue then a layer of Soft Suede cardstock. The Medallion layer is adhered over that.

The sentiment was stamped with Basic Brown ink onto Brocade Blue and punched out with the Word Window Punch. This was layered onto a punchout of Soft Suede made with the Modern Label Punch; a Silver Mini Brad was added at each end of the sentiment, which was then adhered with Dimensionals.

I liked the way this turned out. It is simple but elegant and understated. It was also quite easy and quick to make using this nice large stamp. It carries itself and doesn't have to have a lot of other embellishments, although they can be used quite successfully with it too!

Stamps: Medallion stamp, En Francais, Teeny Tiny Wishes
Inks: Brocade Blue, Sahara Sand, Basic Brown
Paper: Naturals White, Soft Suede, Brocade Blue
Accessories: Ice Square Rhinestone Brad, Silver Mini Brads, Modern Label Punch, Word Window Punch, Dimensionals, Paper Snips

Thanks for visiting today! Hope to see you again soon!
