Regarding Dahlias - CCMC268

Thursday is the day for the Create with Connie and Mary Challenge, and today it's a Color Challenge!  I love these beautiful colors and this is the first time I've used them all together:  Soft Sky, Pear Pizzazz and Wisteria Wonder.

The card base is Soft Sky, 8-1/2" x 5-1/2", folded in half.  Next is a layer of Whisper White that has been dry embossed with the Big Shot and the Beautifully Baroque TIEF (embossing folder) placed over a layer of Wisteria Wonder.  Tucked under the right side is the beautiful Pear Pizzazz Ruffled Trim.

That embossing folder adds so much texture to a project, not only tactile but visual;  just love that.  The focal point of the card is the dahlia; I first stamped the dahlia onto Wisteria Wonder cardstock with Wisteria Wonder ink then quickly heat embossed it with Clear Embossing Powder.  That made the lines glossy and also darker, so I didn't have to do any coloring on this flower at all!  I then cut this out with my sharp little Paper Snips and adhered it with Dimensionals to a Window Frame Framelit cut from Pear Pizzazz Designer Paper from the Subtles Paper Stack!  I love these polka dots!

The happy birthday sentiment is from Express Yourself, a set available to hostesses or those who make their own "party" order of $150. or more, which qualifies for free hostess benefits.  It was die cut with an Itty Bitty Banner Framelit on my just-received Magnetic Platform, which holds the metal Framelits in place while passing through the Big Shot!  Mine was on backorder for two months but Stampin' Up! and the manufacturer have caught up with the demand and they are once again available for order!  Thankfully!  It is GREAT!!

I spritzed the card with Vanilla Shimmer Smooch Spritz and dusted it very lightly with Dazzling Diamonds for some sheen and glimmer.  I really had quite a time photographing this card but IRL (in real life) the color scheme and card is very lovely!  I do love these colors together!

Here again is the challenge:
Now, how about you taking this challenge with us?  Just check out the guidelines on Create with Connie and Mary website, make your card with Stampin' Up! products then upload it online where we can see it, then go back to Connie and Mary's website and link to your post!  That's it!  Its fun and..well, challenging!  : )

Be sure and visit the challenge blog to see what all the other designers made with these colors!  They are SO talented; you'll see some beautiful cards!

Thanks for visiting today!  I hope you have a chance to be creative today yourself!!

What a pretty way to use the dahlia! The pistachio framelit behind the flower looks like leaves. Fun working with you on Create!
