Peaceful Petals CCMC294

This week's challenge at Create with Connie and Mary is a color combination of Strawberry Slush, Old Olive and Basic Black.  I immediately thought of flowers (and hopefully spring will come soon!)

I used two black and white prints from the Kaleidoscope Designer Paper for my background; I love how they look together.  The stark graphics are offset by the curves and softness of the flower and leaves.

I diecut the black tab/banner using a framelit from the Hearts a Flutter Framelit Collection and accented it with a Large Rhinestone.  The "happy" was stamped onto a Vellum Cardstock banner and adhered under the flower; it was adorned with a smaller Rhinestone.

The flower and leaves were stamped with Black StazOn ink onto White Shimmer Paper then colored with a Blender Pen and ink refills.  After being cut out, the flower was attached with Dimensionals.

Stamps:  Peaceful Petals, Express Yourself (Hostess set)
Ink:  Black StazOn; Strawberry Slush and Old Olive ReInkers
Paper:  Kaleidoscope Designer Series Paper (Spring catalog), Basic Black, Shimmer White and Vellum cardstocks.
Accessories:  Large Rhinestone, Basic Rhinestones, Blender Pen, Hearts a Flutter Framelits Collection, Paper Snips

This is beautiful, Margaret! Love the watercolored flower (which you painted so beautifully) and the little rhinestone dewdrop. Looks fabulous on the geometric paper! I would not have thought to combine a dainty flower with the geometric paper! Great job!

Your card is so beautiful, Margaret. Great job coloring for one thing. And the flower and the stamped vellum are such a nice balance to the background.
