Blogger's Challenge #118 - Holiday Best

This week's Blogger's Challenge is a product focus: Designer Series Paper. Wow, that was easy! Easy for me because I love using Designer Paper! It's so easy to come up with a color scheme because the paper usually does it for you unless it's pretty much solid, and if it has prominent designs on it then many times it can be used for the focal point of the composition too. At any rate, it lends visual texture and design to any project!

For this card I used the Old Olive color print from the Merry Moments Designer Paper and stamped it with the Baroque Motifs flourish in the same color ink for added design. I really like to stamp on my Designer Paper to make it even more unique and tie it in with the design or theme of the card.

I inked up the Christmas stamp from Holiday Best with Stampin' Write markers and stamped it on Whisper White cardstock. When dry, I covered the area with VersaMark, punched it out with the Ornament Punch, then dipped it in Iridescent Ice Embossing Powder and heated it. Then I sponged the edges with red ink which is barely visible in this photo. This makes a really sparkly focal point for the card! Too bad that it doesn't show in the picture!

Stamps: Holiday Best (Level 1 Hostess set), Baroque Motifs
Inks: Old Olive; Old Olive and Real Red Markers
Paper: Merry Moments Designer Series Paper; Old Olive, Whisper White, Real Red card stock
Accessories: Ornament Punch, Silver Elastic Cord, 5/8" Real Red Grosgrain Ribbon, Iridescent Ice Embossing Powder, Sponge Dauber

You can find the list of the Blogger's Challengers here to check out what they did this week too!.

Thanks for dropping by today! Hope you enjoyed the card! I'll have more cards to share with the Ornament Punch! It's a great tool for not only Christmas but other uses too!
