"Gently Falling" Gratitude Card CCMC166

I just recently received the new Gently Falling stamp set and was eager to try it out.  When I saw the Thursday Sketch Challenge at the Create with Connie and Mary website, I knew that I wanted to use it with this beautiful set!

Gently Falling is part of the SPICE CAKE Product Suite for fall in the Holiday Mini Catalog which includes this stamp set, Spice Cake Designer Series Paper, Designer Button, Designer Fabric, and Digital Download for My Digitial Studio software.  I love how easy it makes it to create when everything already coodinates and I don't have to waste time searching for papers, ribbons, etc. to use on a project!
I used three of the beautiful Designer Papers on this card; two on the background layer and then discovered that the 1-3/8" Circle Punch just fits the inside of the Spice Cake Buttons so I added the third pattern there, centered with a self-stick Pearl.  The solid stamp leaves were stamped on Very Vanilla using the colors in the papers:  More Mustard, Pear Pizzazz, Pool Party and Soft Suede, then the outlines of the leaves were stamped in Cajun Craze and Soft Suede.  Gotta' love that Two-Step Stamping for gorgeous artistic effects!

Little details can do so much for a project: the little touch of More Mustard Scalloped Border across the center of the background, the Grateful greeting (Grateful Greetings set) on a banner, and on the inside of the card, strips of Designer Paper and Pool Party cardstock to dress it up and make it special as well.

Edited to add:  In response to some inquiries, I got the multiple colors on the leaves by using sponge daubers and sponges.  I would ink my stamp on a light colored stamp pad, wipe some ink off  in places with a tissue then add other colors with the sponges and sponge daubers, lightly blending when the colors met.

I hope you enjoyed my card today!  I think I'm really going to get good use from this set and this Product Suite!  Thanks for dropping by!

Have a good weekend; hope you have some time to stamp!

Margaret

Love this card! How did you color the leaves? Markers directly to the solid imaged stamp? Thank you so much for sharing.
