Hello Doily!!

Wow, it's been awhile since I've posted!  I've been as absent as the rain has been in this drought in Oklahoma & Texas!! Whatever happened to the "lazy days of summer"?!  They are quite busy around here with activities and a trip and reunion thrown in too!  I'm back now and will get back to posting regularly again!  Thanks for staying with me!

The fab new Stampin' Up!(c) Holiday Mini Catalog is out and "live" (available to order from on Sept. 1!)  Along with the exciting new 2011-2012 Idea Book and Catalog and the many new stamps and products therein, we have a world of new creative opportunities ahead of us in the upcoming months!  I'm looking forward to stamping, scoring, embossing and sharing in the days ahead!

One of the beautiful new stamps in the big Idea Book & Catalog is the large (approx. 4 3/4" in diameter) Hello Doily stamp!  Such a beautiful stamp which brings fond memories of grandmothers and times past.  I have some similar doilies crocheted by grandmothers, aunts and other dear souls; do you?

I made this doily card for our demo group swap.  First I clear embossed the doily onto Very Vanilla cardstock with VersaMark and Clear Embossing Powder.  I tore off one corner and distressed all the edges with the Distressing Tool from the Cutter Kit, then sponged Soft Suede around to bring out the design and make the edges look vintage.  When I tore off the corner,I added a piece of a Pink Pirouette print from the Beau Chateau Designer Series Paper package and also distressed and sponged that.

A strip of Pink Pirouette 3/8" Taffeta Ribbon was attached around the lower portion of the design and tied.  The "celebrate" from the versatile Fabulous Phrases set was stamped onto more of the the DSP then punched with the Word Window Punch, sponged then tucked under the tie.  The Pearl in the center of the doily was colored with a pastel pink Sharpie for the finishing touch.

This is a very soft and subtle card with at look of elegance which was easily achieved with some of our wonderful and coordinated Stampin' Up! products!  I hope you'll enjoy it and try out some of these ideas or products soon!

All Stampin' Up! products can be ordered from my demonstrator web site here!  Thanks!

See you soon with some "lollies" to share, made with our terrific NEW Simply Scored tool!!
