Papillon Potpourri in Blues

Yippee!  I love the new Elegant Butterfly Punch and the coordinating Papillon Potpourri stamp set in the NEW 2012 Stampin' Up! Catalog!!  Six lovely papillon (Fr. for butterfly) are in the set, three of which can be punched out with the new punch as well as three smaller butterfly stamps and the antennae stamp.  This combination is already a very popular selection from the new catty!
After consulting with my SU Color Coach, I chose a monochromatic color scheme of Pool Party, Marina Mist, Not Quite Navy and Whisper White.  I used Pool Party cardstock for my card base then added a layer of Whisper White which was dry embossed with the Big Shot and the new Argyle Embossing Folder --this gave it some terrific texture!
Next I stamped one of each of the larger butterflies in the set onto the three blue-green cardstocks and punched them out with the Elegant Butterfly Punch.  I added a narrow piece (the outside edges) of Dimensional to the underside and adhered them to the cardfront.  Adding a thick squeeze of clear Dazzling Details down the center of each butterfly simulated the thickness of the butterfly body and added some lovely sparkle.
The sentiment "here's to you" was stamped in Marina Mist ink on Whisper White, punched out with the 1-1/4" Square Punch then layered onto a scallop square (punched with the Scallop Square Punch) of Not Quite Navy.  On the inside I added a greeting from the Bring on the Cake birthday greeting set:  "wishing you a wonderful day".

This card was a Make 'n Take I designed for recent workshop.  The ladies seemed to enjoy it and both the punch and set were quite well liked!

Thanks for dropping by today!  I hope you have a wonderful weekend and that you will have some time to be creative!!

Betsy's Blossoms In Color II!

Here's another card I made as a set sample before my last workshop where we used Betsy's Blossoms for one of our Make 'n Takes.  I've found this set to be as versatile as it is bold and fun!  Today's card doesn't use the birdie but instead uses the largest (about 2-1/2" diameter) of the three flower stamps in the set.  I've seen this flower used so many ways, so it in itself is also very versatile.  That's always a plus!!
My color scheme is the new In Colors for 2012-2014:  Midnight Muse, Gumball Green, Primrose Petals, Raspberry Ripple and Summer Starfruit.  I chose Gumball Green cardstock for the card base and then randomly (sort of ) stamped the leaf in Gumball Green, the medium flower in Primrose Petals and the small flower cluster in Summer Starfruit.

I stamped the large flower with Midnight Muse onto Whisper White cardstock and then quickly cut it out with my Paper Snips; I am not one who yearns to cut things out but this went very fast and painlessly, lol!  I stamped and cut out another medium flower in Primrose Petals and stamped a small Summer Starfruit flower and punched it out with the 1/2" Circle Punch!  (Always love those punches!!)  These were each layered with Dimensionals and the Starfruit flower was centered with a small Rhinestone for a little bling!
Oops, I forgot to mention that I attached some of the new In Color 3/8" Primrose Petals Stitched Satin ribbon about a third of the way up from the bottom of the card; that ribbon is just beautiful and comes in all five of the new In Colors!  For the greeting, I stamped the Thank You from the Itty Bitty Banners set and die cut it with the Bitty Banners Framelits, and added to the Midnight Muse flower with Dimensionals.

I love how fresh and summer-y this card turned out!  I must say that I love working with the new Firm Foam Ink Pads from Stampin' Up!  They are just wonderful from the ease of inking up your stamp to the fantastic coverage you get, even on solid image stamps like this set.  I can't wait to get them all, I like them SO MUCH!!  You really must try them, you'll like them!!

Thanks for visiting today!  Have a great week!

Happy Day 'n Betsy's Blossoms

I love the bold flowers, bird and other images in the Betsy's Blossoms stamp set!  It's so much fun to stamp with because it produces such "eye-pealing" images and vibrant colors!  Today's card uses Betsy's Blossoms (p. 72) and Friendly Phrases (p. 137), a fun and happy set of six phrases.
The card base is Daffodil Delight overlaid with a Whisper White layer that has been stamped with two flower images and the leaf image from the set.  There is also a rather large flower in the set which I didn't use here buthave used on another card that I'll post soon.  The larger flowers here are stamped with Raspberry Ripple ink (a new In Color), the small flowers with Daffodil Delight and the leaves with Wild Wasabi inks.

Here's a close-up of the Wild Wasabi cardstock banner that has been dry embossed with the Big Shot and the new on-trend Chevron Embossing Folder (#127749, $7.95).   This is really a "gotta-have"!  The bird was stamped in the new In Color, Midnight Muse, cut out and adhered with a Stampin' Dimensional.  A small Raspberry flower was stamped on a scrap and punched out with the 1/2" Circle Punch and adhered under the beak (but I see it has slipped; oops, I didn't notice it before I photographed it!).  I added Clear Dazzling Details to the center of each of the larger flowers for some bling, although it doesn't show up in the photo.

The "happy day to you" sentiment is from the Friendly Phrases set of six (#126149 [w], #126151 [c]).  I like these greetings because are fresh and bring an air of informality and fun to your projects!

Thanks for dropping by!  I hope you enjoyed the card; I have more new cards to post soon!

"Heartfelt" in Melon and Gray

Two of the great new coordinating products in the 2012 Catalog are the Layered Labels stamp set (#127072 [c] and #127070) and the Apothecary Accents Framelits (#127003)!  Once you've stamped your label image in the set, then you diecut it with your Big Shot and matching Framelit!  Easy-peasy to get custom-looking diecuts for big impact!  In fact, with all the swirls in the stamp and Framelit and the lace border at the bottom, my card will work for the Fancy Frills challenge this week at the SUO Challenge blog.

Black, white and gray with a splash of bright color make such an eye-catching combination!  Here I've paired a Whisper White card, a layer of Basic Black then an overlay of a Basic Gray print paper from the Twitterpated Designer Series Paper Collection (#125406).  I added a happy splash of Melon Mambo for the center label overlay and for the trim along the bottom edge.

The focal image was stamped with the "Heartfelt" label, the largest image in the set of four.  I stamped it again on a smaller piece of Melon Mambo and cut out the oval shape then layered it over the white layer.  I then stamped another image on a Whisper White scrap and diecut that with one of the Bitty Banners Framelits (#129267) and layered it on top.  I added color to the greeting with my Melon Mambo Stampin' Write Marker and two small Basic Pearls to the Melon layer as well as four more on the large label for accent.

The decorative trim on the bottom of the designer paper was cut from Melon Mambo cardstock with one of the NEW Finishing Touches Edgelits (#127010)!  It was so easy!  I love those; they make beautiful edges so easy and quick to achieve and add miles of style!

I hope you've enjoyed the card today.  You can order any or all of these Stampin' Up! products using my secure online SU website HERE.  If you wish to contact me, please do so through my SU website HERE Thank you!

Layered Labels: CCMC206 & TSSC225

Today's card features the new Layered Labels stamp set and Apothecary Accents, its coordinating Framelit set.  I just love all the coordinated products that Stampin' Up! offers us crafters, and these are no exception!  In fact, that's one of the first things I looked for when I first got to peek at the new catalog!
The card base is Island Indigo which is overlaid with Cherry Cobbler then Crumb Cake.  A vertical banner of Island Indigo print Designer Series Paper from the Summer Smooches DSP package was offset to the left then Cherry Cobbler rick-rack die cut with my Big Shot and Tasteful Trim Die added across the bottom.

The focal image was stamped on Whisper White with Cherry Cobbler ink using the "For You" stamp from the Layered Labels set then die cut with the coordinating label die from the Apothecary Accents Framelits set!  Wow, so quick and easy, love it!  I stamped it again using the Island Indigo ink on a scrap of white then punched out the center with the Large Oval Punch, again a perfect fit!  I love it when my tools make stamping easier and quicker!  I used my Cherry Cobbler Stampin' Write Marker to add color to the letters on the label.  Both of these layers were adhered with Stampin' Dimensionals to add height and emphasis.
On the card inside, I added a sheet of Whisper White cardstock and another row of rick-rack.  The sentiment was stamped with "Get well  soon" from the Delightful Dozen set and punched out again using the Large Oval Punch.  This brings the same designs and colors to the inside yet still leaves plenty of room for a handwritten message.

I used the Create with Connie and Mary CCMC206 Color Challenge of Cherry Cobbler, Island Indigo and Crumb Cake for my color scheme and Technostamper's TSSC225 Sketch Challenge for the layout of my card.

Betsy's Blossoms In Color!

Well, yes, they are in color, but they are also stamped in the NEW 2012 IN COLORS which just became  available on June 1st!  Midnight Muse, Gumball Green, Summer Starfruit, Primrose Petals and Raspberry Ripple... don't those sound deliciously fun?  Since my last post was regarding the new In Colors, I was eager to make a card with my new stamps and colors!  (Sorry for the delay, we went on another trip, this time to Houston, a family reunion, and visiting relatives.)

Love the Betsy's Blossoms set!  The images are mostly solid and bold.  You can make a quick card with them or one with a lot more intricacy, either way!  The card base is the new Summer Starfruit In Color, over that is a layer of Whisper White.  I stamped the medium blossom in the set once with each of the new In Colors down the right side of the white, then trimmed away the edge to about the middle of the flowers.  I added a touch of Dazzling Details to the center of each flower to add some sparkle.

The adorable bird in this set was stamped in the dramatic dark Midnight Muse, cut out and an additional wing cut-out was layered over the base with a Stampin' Dimensional for emphasis.  A tiny Rhinestone was added for the eye.  The bird was placed over a leafy stem of Gumball Green which was diecut using the Sizzlit Little Leaves, a favorite of mine that I have used almost ever since I've had my Big Shot and is in the new catalog, thankfully!  (There is a wonderful leafy stem stamp in the set but for this card, this diecut seemed to fit my space better.)

The verse is from a sweet set called Friendly Phrases which I know I will be using a lot!  A smaller flower from Betsy's set was stamped in Primrose Petals, punched out with the 1/2" Circle Punch and attached with a Stampin' Dimensional.

This was my first opportunity to stamp with Stampin' Up!'s new Foam Ink Pads and they were a joy to stamp with!  I must say, I MUST NOW HAVE THEM ALL!!  lol!  The way they stamp these solid images is a stamper's dream!    The coverage is great!  Just wait until you try them, if you haven't yet!  You'll be lovin' them too!!

Any or all of these products can be purchased on my Stampin' Up! online store HERE   Thank you in advance for your order.  You may contact me through my Stampin' Up! website HERE with any questions.

Have a wonderful weekend!

NEW Firm Foam Stampin' Pads!

Firm Foam Stampin' Pads

With the introduction of the 2012-2013 Annual Catalog, Stampin' Up! has made a very big change to their Stampin’ Pads.

Introducing firm foam pads! They change your stamping experience for the better!

We know you’re going to love these new Stampin’ Pads—just look at all the exciting benefits listed below:
  • Provide better ink coverage for your stamps!
  • Light-tap stamping produces flawless images!
In addition, our new Stampin’ Pads
  • Create wonderfully solid images. The Firm Foam releases more ink onto your rubber stamp than the felt pads. When using the Firm Foam pad, your stamp will get an even, solid covering of ink that you may not have been able to achieve with the felt pads. Please note: if you are using the ink pad frequently you may need to re-ink your Firm Foam pad more often.
  • Have a crisply printed, glossy label on the top of the pad that is easier to read and that will not fade or chip off!
  • Come with color name labels in all four languages (English, Spanish, French, and German)--just choose your language, peel it off the back, and add it to the side of the pad for easy identification!
  • Use the same patented flip-top case design that stores the inking surface upside down, so the pad surface stays moist!
  • Are available in all colors, including our exclusive In Colors!
+ + + + + + +
A Note about Ink Refills: Five ink colors have undergone formula changes to improve functionality and color stability with the new firm foam pads. These colors are
  • Basic Black
  • Basic Gray
  • Marina Mist
  • Perfect Plum
  • Tempting Turquoise
All five colors of the reformulated inks have been fully tested and approved. While using the new ink formula in the old Stampin’ Pads is fine, we do not recommend using the old ink formula for these five colors in the new firm foam pads. Any refills purchased after April 30, 2012, will contain the new formulated ink (except for the retiring 2010-2012 In Colors.)
+ + + + + + + +

These are exciting changes to our Stampin’ Pads. I will have some on hand at upcoming stamping parties and events so you can see and experience for yourself the improved quality of our Stampin’ Up! Stampin’ Pads!  You will love the ease with which you can achieve great ink coverage, especially with solid image stamps!!

Be sure to look for these pads in the new 2012-2013 Annual Catalog, pages 152 to 156.  The price is the same as last year too!  If you wish to shop online now, just click HERE to access my online secure Stampin' Up! shopping site, or schedule a party to stamp and share the fun with some of your friends!

I'll be posting some samples soon featuring these new pads so stop back by soon!
