Layered Labels in Black & Cajun

I haven't posted because I've been away to Houston for the better part of a week to the funeral of my husband's brother.  He was a good man and we will miss him very much.  We were blessed to have had a visit with him in last month.

This is one of the two cards I made for an organized swap I sent to convention; the organizer invited non-attendees to participate also so I jumped at the chance!  Thanks to Connie Ingram for mailing my swaps to me!  I can't wait to see them!
This stamp shape from Layered Labels coordinates with one of the Apothecary Accents Framelits so that it can be diecut with the Big Shot in a snap!  This same shape, only larger (stamped in black on this card), is in the classy Everything Eleanor set!  I just love it when products coordinate which gives you so many more options for using your products!
The "For You" was stamped in Cajun Craze on Very Vanilla cardstock then diecut.  I colored some medium Pearls with a black Sharpie to use as accents on the label.  I then adhered this with Dimensionals to the Very Vanilla layer which had been textured with the new Fancy Fan Embossing Folder.  Great folder!!  Love the design!
The swirls from the Everything Eleanor set was stamped in Old Olive before the vanilla cardstock was textured.  After texturing, a strip of Designer Series Paper from the Comfort Cafe featuring a beautiful design in Cajun Craze and Very Vanilla was adhered to the lower front and a sash of Basic Black 1/8" Taffeta Ribbon covered the seam and set it off.  All of this was attached to a Basic Black card.  It isn't shown here, but I added a layer of Very Vanilla cardstock inside with a verse before sending this off to a friend.

From My Heart - Thank You

Sadly I don't get to go to the SU Convention this year, but happily I have a workshop Thursday night so I am making some card samples for my ladies (nothing like stamping with friends to make you feel better! right?)!  I used the From My Heart set again (such a useful set with beautiful sentiment images) and this time I used the Thank You image.
The gorgeous Floral District Designer Series Paper caught my eye and I particularly like this flower print for the background of this card.  The card base is So Saffron as is the Labels Framelit die cut on which the thank you image was stamped.  I love all those swirly lines, lol!
On the left side of the front is a lacy strip of Whisper White that has been cut with the Large Scallop Edgelits and then treated with the coordinating Delicate Designs Embossing Folder.  Love that look!
The Thank You image was stamped with Rich Razzleberry ink onto So Saffron cardstock.  I applied White Craft Ink with a Sponge Dauber to the edges of the So Saffron after it was die cut with one of the Labels Framelit dies.  Several Pearls were added to enhance the design.
I stamped a butterfly from the Papillon Potpourri set onto Whisper White cardstock with Rich Razzleberry then added some So Saffron and Lucky Limeade color with my Blender Pen and ink.  I punched it out with the new Elegant Butterfly punch  then adhered it with Glue Dots.
On the inside I stamped the coordinating stamp from this set "Your kindness means so much."  The bottom was dry embossed with the Big Shot and the same Delicate Design folder I used on the card front.

I hope you enjoyed the card today.  Thanks for visiting and for any comments you might leave.  Let me hear from you?!

Don't forget to stamp a little, for creative activities have been shown to relieve stress!

Friendship? {yes, please}

From My Heart is a new set in the 2012-13 Stampin' Up! Catalog that has some wonderful sayings, four of which would work as main images for your card or project, and a couple that also coordinate with those wonderful Stampin' Up! Framelits!! (I ALWAYS love that, don't you?!)
Today's post uses the "Friendship? {yes, please}" image which features a rotund little teapot and a quote from Charles Dickens.. so cute!  This is paired with the floral print from the scrumptious Floral District Designer Series Paper which features a color scheme of Rose Red, Baja Breeze, Tangerine Tango and Rich Razzleberry.
I stamped the image with Rich Razzleberry ink on Whisper White and added color with inks and a Blender Pen.  I stamped the banner portion of this stamp onto Tangerine Tango cardstock, cut it out then attached it to the circle image with Dimensionals.  This was all adhered to a Rose Red 2-3/8" Scallop Circle punch out.  A medium Pearl from the Basic Pearls Pack is the finishing touch on the bottom flourish.
The card base is Rich Razzleberry with an overlay of Baja Breeze cardstock that has been treated with the Elegant Lines Embossing Folder and the Big Shot.  I just love this texture!  I cut a 2" wide banner of the Floral District DSP, tied a length of Baker's Twine (that I dyed with my Baja Breeze ink pad and a Blender Pen) around the top and offset it to the left side of the card.  I then added my focal image to finish it up!

I hope you enjoy the card today and that you have some time to stamp this weekend!

Elegant Butterfly Card

I'm really enjoying the new Elegant Butterfly Punch (which coordinates with the Papillon Potpourri set) in the new Stampin' Up! Catalog!  I just love the realistic detailed shape and ease of use!  The only stamping on this card is just the butterfly antennae and the greeting!
I simply punched six butterflies, two of each of the Designer Series Papers that I chose from the Summer Smooches Collection; the colors of the butterflies are Tangerine Tango, Real Red and Rich Razzleberry.  I die cut Whisper White with the largest of the Apothecary Accents Framelits then die cut a second one from Rich Razzleberry.
Using the new Essentials Paper -Piercing Pack and my new Stampin' Pierce Mat underneath, I paper-pierced the Whisper White die cut with the coordinating template to punch up the design!  The greeting was stamped with Basic Black ink using the "here's to you" stamp from the fun Friendly Phrases set.
The punched butterflies were added in two stages; the first butterfly was adhered firmly to the die cut with Snail Adhesive then the antennae was stamped.  Next the second butterfly was added with Glue Dots just in the very center.  This allows the wings to be bent up adding nice dimension.  I added three tiny Pearls for the "body" of the butterfly plus a string of five along the lower center of the die cut.
The card base is Tangerine Tango, overlaid with Whisper White which has been dry embossed with the beautiful new Fancy Fan Embossing Folder!  (Love this!!)  A strip of the new 3/8" Stitched Grosgrain Ribbon in Real Red encircles the white layer.  Over this is the die cut, which has been adhered to a second die cut of Rich Razzleberry (it was split in the center vertically in order to extend beyond both ends of the white).

I hope you've enjoyed the card.  It was really fun to make; I just love using all these fun products!  If you would like to order any of these, please visit my online Stampin' Up! website and click on the "Shop Now" button to access the store and order.  I thank you!

I appreciate your visit and hope you will come back by soon!

Have a Happy July 4th tomorrow!  God Bless America!
