Big Shot Baby Bib Card!

Last weekend I needed a card for a baby shower.  A soft lavender with yellow accents are the colors the mom has chosen for her new baby girl's nursery so those were the colors I used for her card.

I love these baby bib cards and they are so easy and fun to make!  Simply fold your cardstock in half and lay it on the Scallop Circle Die, with the folded edge inside the circle, leaving about eight or so of the scallops uncovered.  This insures your bib will have a fold giving a front and back to your card.  Run this through the Big Shot then for this bib, I used the Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder to emboss only the front of the card.

Using the Wide Oval Punch, punch out the neck of the card; this will leave about 1/2" on each side of the "neck opening" for the "hinge" that holds the front and back together.  I placed the tiny bows of 1/8" Vanilla Taffeta Ribbon over the loop of ribbon that goes from hinge to hinge for accent.  (That narrow ribbon is just perfect for these bibs!)

Decorate and embellish the card as you wish.  I  used one of my favorite images for baby cards here; it is from a retired set called Punches Three, and is punched out with the Wide Oval Punch.  I actually stamped two, one in Amethyst and one in Saffron, then cut the center part from the Amethyst and laid it over the Saffron layer.  Several tiny self-adhesive Pearls embellish this also but are not easy to see in this photo.  The weather was so cloudy that my photo is not what I would like but I had to take the picture before I gave it away and didn't have any choice!

Between the Big Shot, dies, embossing folders and punches, this card is easy to make!  I love my Big Shot and all the dies and folders that go with it!!  It adds another fabulous level and opportunity for creativity to stamping and papercrafting!  If you don't have one, you need one!  : )

Just Believe Quick Card

This Just Believe set is such a favorite of many stampers and so easy to use, with lovely results!  Here's card #4 in the series of quick and simple cards for my class. Today's card also uses the technique of masking.

With the 1-1/4" Circle Punch, I punched a circle in a sticky note and placed it over the Very Vanilla layer.  I then applied ink through the circle with a Stampin' Sponge and removed the sticky note, leaving a "sun" image.  Next I inked up the flower and grasses stamp with the darker ink and stamped on top of that and layered this over a matching darker layer.

The bottom front of the card was stamped with another plant stamp in the same color, giving a tone-on-tone effect.  Over that came the image layer.  "Get Well Wishes" from the essential Teeny Tiny Wishes set of 24 greetings was stamped on Vanilla and punched out with the Word Window Punch then layered onto a Modern Label Punch punchout.  This was adhered to the upper right of the card.  The inside has a verse from the Curvy Verses set and a couple more tone-on-tone leaf stamps.

This is a simple card but quite effective; the masking technique gives it interest and depth.  I used two retired colors of cardstock for this card: Apricot Appeal and Dusty Durango; these could easily be exchanged for other color combinations.  One could also kick it up a notch by using more accessories such as brads, buttons, ribbons or such, but the simplicity here is elegant and met the needs of this class:  quick and simple!

Wonderful Friend Card

So glad to be back!  Last week was so busy that I didn't get my postings made to my blog!  That's TOO busy!  But I do have some things all ready to photo and post this week!

Today's card is #3 in my series of quick and simple cards; these were designed for a class of beginning stampers.  I used the "wonderful friend" stamp from the wonderful set "All Holidays"!  I have a friend who told me she liked this stamp so much she bought the set just for this stamp!  Of course, there are eleven other lovely and useful stamps in the set which are greatly desirable too!  I've used most all of them myself, and many times!

It's quite hard to see but I used the flourish from the Bliss (SAB) set for the background on the Pretty in Pink cardstock giving it a tone-on-tone look.  Then I overstamped it with the greeting inked in Concord Crush, that beautiful deep purple In Color!  This was placed on a layer of Whisper White which has the right side treated with the Eyelet Border Punch.  A swath of Concord Crush Stitched Ribbon encircles the left border of this layer and is accented with a sparkly pink Rhinestone brad from the Circle Fire Rhinestone pack.

The Concord Crush background is also stamped with a flourish in the same color then adhered to the Pretty in Pink full card.  On the inside, I placed a mask down and then stamped with the Concord Crush again, giving a decorative border to finish it off!

Another quick and simple card to convey your heartfelt greetings to a friend!

Eat Chocolate Quick Card

I'm in the process of designing some fast and simple cards for beginning stampers class.  I posted the first one last Friday and here's posting #2 of this series.

This card features the fun Eat Chocolate set combined with Chocolate Chip, Crumb Cake and Blushing Bride cardstock and Blushing Bride Designer Series Paper Patterns "in Colors" Pack.  (The In Colors Pack has 60 6"x6" sheets in them and is a Level One Hostess bonus!)  Another view:

I'm really liking the color combination of the Blushing Bride with the Chocolate Chip and Crumb Cake.  Pinks and browns always seem to be a good combination!  This could be a fun birthday card or a Thinking of You card, or whatever sentiment meets your need.  I'm leaving mine blank for now until I have occasion to send it and then I'll stamp in my sentiment.

Scallops and Flowers and Pompoms, Oh My! TSSC 165

Today's card is pretty girly-girl with scallops and flowers and pompom trim, oh, and some embossing thrown in too!  These wonderful large scallops are quickly, easily and precisely made with the Tasteful Trim Die (#120893) which thankfully has been carried over from the Holiday Mini!  I just love this fun look of layered scallops!

Ice Cream Parlor Designer Series Paper is the source of this color scheme.  I used the Melon Mambo, Peach Parfait and Old Olive patterns from the package to cut the scallops, layering them onto Whisper White that has been embossed with a Finial Press Embossing Folder and the Big Shot.  Before you ask, I did cut the embossing folder apart so I could leave a level area for stamping the birthday sentiment from the Curly and Cute set;  I like the effect.  : )

The Daffodil Delight flower was diecut with the Big Shot and the Fun Flowers Die (#121812), using only the smallest flower of the three on the die.  (There are so many possible flower variations with three flowers of different sizes and designs on the same die!  Very much worth the money!)  In the center is a large button from the Springtime Vintage button pack to which I added a pink rhinestone brad from the Fire Circles Rhinestone Brad assortment.   A length of Melon Mambo Pompom Trim is the final touch to the card; isn't that trim cute?!

Ice Cream Parlor Birthday!

Yum, that sounds fun, doesn't it!  This Ice Cream Parlor is such bright and happy Designer Series Paper that it is just perfect for a celebration!  Use it with the Happy Birthday scalloped square image from the Punch Bunch set and the coordinating Ice Cream Parlor buttons and you have a great recipe for a celebratory card!  Oh, and guess what... you can get all of these things for free during Sale-A-Bration but you must hurry before Sale-A-Bration ends March 31!

The color scheme based on the Ice Cream Parlor DSP is Melon Mambo, Pacific Point, Daffodil Delight and a touch of Old Olive.  On the inside I stamped birthday wishes from the ever-useful On Your Birthday set; it has a multitude of strictly birthday greetings (great set!)!   I then added a narrow strip of the same DSP to carry in the color scheme and brighten it up!

A colorful line of three Ice Cream Parlor buttons accent the front Old Olive tab which serves as a background for the scalloped birthday image.  The image was first stamped in Pacific Point then quickly punched out with the Scallop Square Punch... these punches make it so easy!!

Stamps:  Punch Bunch, On Your Birthday (greeting inside)

Ink:  Pacific Point

Accessories and tools:  Scallop Square Punch, Scallop Edge Punch, Signo White Gel Pen, Ice Cream Parlor Buttons and Designer Series Paper, Tabletop Paper Trimmer.

This was a quick and simple card to do; I used a similar one for a card class primarily composed of beginning stampers earlier this week and it was well received.
