Blooming with Kindness in Red, Black and Sahara Sand

When I saw Create with Connie and Mary's color challenge CCMC212 this week to use the colors of Real Red, Sahara Sand and Basic Black, I knew I wanted to make a card with it!  Then I saw the perfect sketch to use at Stamping 411, SSC267.  I was all set!  The sketch just called out to me to use my new Blooming with Kindness set again, so here's what I came up with:
The blossom was stamped with Real Red on Whisper White cardstock.  I cleaned the stamp then sponged it with Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint and stamped over the red.  (Be sure and clean your stamp immediately after stamping with the paint).  Then I used the NEW-in-the-Holiday Catalog Window Frame Framelits to diecut the large flower, then cut a second of the same size from Basic Black cardstock.  I cut the black cardstock framelit in half and used it to layer under the white framelit.  The Champagne Mist perfectly coordinates with the Sahara Sand color, and although it doesn't show well in the picture, it has a beautiful shimmer in real life.  : )
Sahara Sand cardstock wheeled with black using the fabulous new Alhambra Jumbo Wheel (#126940) makes the banner.  This was layered onto Basic Black which has been treated with the NEW Lacy Brocade Embossing Folder (Holiday Catalog) which is seen better in the first and last pictures.
The card base is Real Red.  I used a strip of the wheeled Sahara Sand and a narrow black strip inside the back to carry the design through the card.

Close-up time!  You can see the texture on the black background plus the Red Glimmer Brad I used in the center of the flower.  The greeting is from Itty Bitty Banners and was diecut using the Bitty Banners Framelits.  I trimmed the red diecut down using the lines of the stamp as a guide (easy-peasy) then layered it on a Sahara Sand Framelit banner.  A tiny flower punched with the flower from the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack (set of 3) is underneath the red Glimmer Brad for accent.
